You are a braver man than I! Driving a 600HP golf on a canyon road! EDIT: Seems it is a lot easier to handle than I expected, props to the engineers at HPA.
i tracked my brothers gti once and it certainly wasnt what i would call a confidence inspiring. the understeer was just ridiculous. not only that with the performance suspension it had alot of issue with the subframe. r32 looks nice but my brothers gti just turned me off to vws.
+Joe Bueno I'm extremely jealous, I just recently purchased a mk4 jetta and it was my first introduction to these things but unfortunately it is a 2.0 na and auto. Wish I had the VR6 and stick as these chassis are amazing.
+Justin Vanover vr6 is amazing and having owned two I do have some issue with the 'chassis' for example the rear end suspension is total shit. I would like to hope the GTI and R32 versions were better than my vr's rear ends but still. I love them and I want another but just know there are many much better handling cars out there. I flipped my last one at highway speeds and walked away without as much as dust in my eyes so I will say they are safe!
208? you had it on a dyno? what mods did you do? I really hope you didn't throw a pod filter on and seriously expect it to add 7hp. Realistically your BDE VR6 is producing less than the 201bhp it was originally. RUclips's really obsessed with imaginary numbers :P
I disagree about this being a sleeper. People expect an R32 to be fairly quick, the fact that it's quicker than a standard R32 doesn't make it a sleeper. If the drivetrain was swapped out in to a mk4 TDI body, with steel wheels and cloth interior, that would be a sleeper. This is just a mentally quick R32. Don't get me wrong, this is an awesome car and I'm not trying to detract from that, but a sleeper it is not.
+rezneba101 read what I said again you moron. Would an M3 with 600bhp be a sleeper? What about a supra with 800bhp? No, because people expect cars like that to be fast anyway.
+rezneba101 it's not just a golf is the point he was making and he's right. an the m3 was a great comparison. just as you wouldn't be shocked by a Brabus blowing by you on the highway or even just an amg
+Matt Greenland Well, in fairness, the Golf R that they brought me to film for /DRIVE on this day was much, much faster and better in pretty much every measurable way.
TheSmokingTire I'm not surprised considering the 10 year gap in development. I find it interesting how the latest R has to be taken back to the 6 cylinder to be really something, but all original needs is to be built up.
+wobbly sauce What are you talking about, the Golf R is relatively heavy by most enthusiasts. IMO the R32 could lose some weight certainly on factory size tires. All of the R's are over 3200Ibs.

The Golf Gen IV R32 is the only car that I have ever owned that I regret having sold. Had only 27,000 miles on her. Having done the car thing with almost every normal consumer brand less the true exotics, this was the most fun car I have ever owned. The engine was way over built and could have handled way more power then stock but I preferred keeping mine 100% original and in pristine condition. Foolishly I sold it and purchased a 911 Carrera. The 911 was quicker but I never had the confidence in the car and if the rain came out, the R32 would have stomped all over it. Not something that most 911 drivers would admit too but I will. Sold the 911 last year and have been looking for a low mileage R32 Gen 4 and I can't find one anywhere especially stock. Anyone with an original R32 should hold onto it. This care has cult status and if you take excellent care of it and keep the mile low and the car stock, will be worth money years from now. Other Cars I miss, 1987 CRX SI, 2001 ITR #703, 2007 STI Limited #83, 1995 850 T5-R, 1988 E30 M3,, 2008 S2000 CR sold it with only 1,500 miles on it - BIG MISTAKE!!!. Sorta miss 1995 SHO 3.0 and 1999 SVT Contour. Done with cars for a while, now doing the boat thing LOL!!!!!
Rob. I'm sorry to hear that you sold your MKIV R32! I have and am the original owner of mine. I have seen former MKIV R32 owners come back on VWVortex. They always come back. To me personally there isn't anything out there that can do what this R32 can do. Meaning, overall package. Grocery getter and a Sunday track car. Then Great companies such as HPA still continues to create Turbo kits, Clutch upgrades, 02M transmission upgrades...etc. not many companies today are Doing this. Rob good luck in your search. There are some still out there.
A buddy of mine had a silver one. All stock. Idiot sold it for scion TC which he later put a stage 2 turbo in it. Later crashed it. Now he drives a Camry. I'm sure he will kill himself when he realizes how much of an idiot he was selling a R32 for a fucking scion
Never owned a R32, but it is one of my realistic dream cars. I did own a Mk4 GTI, 24v VR6 with a solid amount of work done to it, which had a great suspension setup, and like you, one of the only cars I have owned which I truly regret selling. I also owned 3 SVT Contours during the early to late 2000's, also some of my favorite FWD cars ever. Have you ever owned a E36 or E46 M3? If so, how would you compare it to the R32?
@@chrismelisse1284 Hey Chris, the early M3 cars were awesome but much like the 911 lacked the versatility the R32 offered. It was by far the most complete package of the 37 cars I owned.
Best VW R32, and IMO the best GTI generation of all time. It was upmarket, but still analog enough to be a great driving and riding car. I had a 2002.5 GTI 5-valve 1.8T. Even that was a quick, great car. I've always loved the R32, and the VR6 rumble is always great to pull up on YT whenever I need to hear something spectacular.
SO brave to do this. Not because of anything else but the cops. How are you NOT in jail Matt?? Ever since I spent some time in the crowbar hotel after doing 70 something over, I feel PTSD kicking in anywhere over 20 over..
+TheSmokingTire Yes, 3,000 dollars and 2 days later lawyers got me out & fixed the issue but I figured if I did it again getting out wouldn't be so easy.. Is that not the case?
Wow, that Marcelo sure is a nice personable dude, and of course another great one take as always Matt! I love your standards concerning recording quality. One little rattle or exhaust drone here or there is nothing to complain about in comparison to all the horribly over edited and wind noise garbage videos uploaded by others. The smoking tire is where I come for the closest I'll get to experiencing some of these great cars first hand. Also thank you for not being a fan boy of any sort. A true automotive enthusiast can appreciate any good build, and that is what keeps these videos so well rounded and interesting.
I knew this thing when it was 400ft lb Viper killer. I can't even comprehend what it's doing now. it was crazy then... it's straight-jacket mental now! Kudos Trini!
Sick! Yeah Matt, no need to apologize. After hearing that sweet sounding exhaust with the crackle I didn't even hear a buzz. Sweet ride and great review as always.
+TheSmokingTire I'll be sending my twinturbo'd R32 back up for some TLC and tweaks in a few weeks... you can gladly toss mine around once complete. It's the FT650 version that sits between this one and the FT740 in terms of performance. Plus it's DSG. When next down in Houston for Hennessy let me know.... ignore the account, I'm lurking on my son's account. :)
thanks for the upload. apologizing again for audio problems when you've no reason to. i couldn't hear any buzzing, maybe my tinnitus cancelled it out :) [and judging by the number of centerline markers you passed im guessing the speedo at 4:06 was around 110 ;) ]
+altern8ive Usually he has a nice mic set up so it sounds really crisp (the GLA45 video is a good reference) so it's definitely noticeable. But I might be a bit of a stickler for that kind of stuff. Won't stop me from watching, though!
+Kaleido Motoring agree and im definitely a little pedantic when it comes to post production but as a non-creator i usually keep any annoyances to myself. when the audio is not compromised by whatever fault is occurring its existence is irrelevant. always grateful that Matt produces this content without charge, i guess he has to pre-empt nitpick comments about weird noises.
altern8ive Yea, as a creator I'm really nitpicky. In fact, I was one of those people when the One-Takes first started that complained about the crappy mic. I really like that the production value has been secretly improving over time, though. Now we get outside shots, fly-by shots, etc... Matt just can't help himself but make good videos lol :P
Awesome One Take Matt! I grew up in the Langley BC area and can remember drooling time after time over some of the HPA built rides cruising around. Great stuff!!!!
That guy from HPA seems like such a cool friendly guy, very insightful but also a good personality, really added to the video. Love these mk4 r32s, ive got a mk4 2.slow right now BUT ONE DAY!
Me and you both! HPA has been tuning VW's for the last 25 years. Their Kits look absolutely perfect, once installed the kit looks OEM, it looks absolutely just like factory. Clean and simple and no one would suspect a turbo lurking underneath!
Great Video Matt. I loved your other review on the NA R32, and it seemed you loved that R32. Now this particular R32. You had a permanent smile driving this monster!!
People love to hate on the Golf mk4s but as daily drivers I love them. I upgraded from my 150hp mk4 GTI to my civic type r ep3. While I love the type r I have to say I liked the way the golf handled better it just needed more power (like 100hp extra!). The type r has a tendancy to oversteer in the wet if you are not careful, that damaged my confidence in it somewhat. I'm thinking of going back to VW for my next car, Scirocco R maybe...
I've got the same set up from HPA in my Mk1 TT but only running just under 500 bhp / ft lb (preserve's the OEM gearbox) & it sounds etc just like this Golf. It's visually completely OEM & is my daily driver but it's certainly fun! It's NOT a hard car to drive - my wife hasn't even clocked the BHP has doubled from standard & the kids love it on the school run! Get one, they're amazing.........
TheSmokingTire The joys of writing comments at 1:30AM. I have no idea what made me think it was inline, as I currently own a MK4 R32 and previously had a 12V GTI. You're absolutely right, and I edited my comment.
Actually you don't have to watch it on Drive+, you can just wait and they'll release it on normal /Drive just like all the other Drive+ videos haha. Not a golf fan at all but have always liked the R32
I'm a camaro guy converted to a Mustang guy but there's something about this style VW that I absolutely love and am really thinking about pulling the trigger on one
Well I had a 1995 12v VR6. Turn2 CAI, GIAC Chip, 2.9L TB, Schrick VGI Intake Mani, Phenolic Inake Mani Spacer, UR Pulleys, Autotech 10 LFW, 3.94 R&P FD, 2.5 TT Exhaust, John Doherty DRC 268 Cams, and a P&P'd Big Valve Head by YellowSLC from The VW Vortex Board Alan something. Lowered 2.5 on springs and had bilsteins struts and sport shocks, BFI Race motor mounts, transmission mounts, and the diesel geek short shifter. The springs and struts actually made a hell of a difference as the stock VW height is like that of a mini van. The last thing I wanted to do was to port and gasket match the stock exhaust manifold and lower intake manifold. The Car itself was 2900lbs and made around 208hp at the wheels and around that much torque. Today it would be slow by most standards but back in the day I beat more than a few Porsches, BMW's, Mercedes, etc. I did learn to respect Hondas b/c a stock B16A2 Cylinderhead flowed 100 times more than my 15 degree SOHC with 2 cams in it. I loved and miss the car though.
Really nice....always loved the golfs, especially the still-timeless MK4 R32's/V6-4Mo's/& the Anniversary. I had an anniversary a couple of years ago, roughly running 200bhp over the standard 180bhp. They only made 1800 of these puppies, 900 petrol, and 900 with a 1.9-TDI, with the Le Mans black cloth interior with red-piping, golf-ball gear nob, full black roof lining and pillars over the standard cream, a KO3-S turbo with AUQ engine, and of course the 18" BBS alloys and subtle body kit over the standard 150bhp golfs. Subtle mods were a De-Cat "straight-through" "Powerflow" exhaust, and full K&N induction kit. Unfortunately only had it a month but wasn't told of hidden electrical-faults that could've been the loom, plus a £532 MOT/Service costs, coupled with shit-head vandals keying it whenever I parked, I swapped with a pal and he restored it to its full potential with a 220bhp-exhaust-popping tune up, full L.E.D.'s inside and out, and an 8K HID-kit....
The issue with the Tornado Red was that the clear coat would start to peel and Volkswagen would not warranty. They knew of the issue but yet would not warranty.
+Lazaro Carreiro my clear coat is peeling on the back, just like the R32 I seen but not as bad, that was from the roof to the tire, so ugly looking on that car
+Lazaro Carreiro Not that anybody needs to confirm this but I can. I have been battling them for years about this issue. They literally told me to fuck off. I went in to get my tail gate replaced (under the corrosion warranty) they taped off the new window in the hatch. When they pulled the tape off it horse shoed the clear coat right off both rear panels. They didnt say a word to me about it. I went to pick my car up dude handed me the keys and said nothing. I do a 360 around the car to look things over and you can imagine my reaction. The guy basically said "well its not my window guys fault". I was irate. If painters tape pulls clear coat off a car it's shit Im sorry. Complained to VWOA and of course "yeah theres not an issue with it, we have never heard of peeling clear coat on this car, we have people monitor the internet for issues and this never came up sorry" Uhhh on VW vortex there have been tons of people bitching about this for years. VW said they would paint the whole car for $11000. What a joke. I love my 2004 TR r32 but jesus it deserved to have good paint from the factory. Sorry for the rant.
Funny enough, one of the first up close experiences I had with a tuner car (and probably the reason I fell in love with tuners) was with an HPA scirocco that was imported for a customer in Houston. I remember I had bought new tires for my mom's car and was at this premier euro tuner shop called Motorwerks for them to mount an balance. While I was there, I actually got to see the owner take delivery of his car. All I can say is to this day I hold that car as one of the most beautiful creations I've ever seen. It still haunts my dreams.
Always loved my mk4 1.8t. Not the lightest, but in it's league with a tune and few bolt ons you're smoking every competitor in the bracket. The vr6 power band is so smooth, and the exhaust note is godly. The R32 has everything Golf owners wanted, plus a better drive train. You don't see mk4's very much, and they feel so light for a car that isn't light. Plus the interior is extremely nice if you find one that was taken care of. Always a good first car to learn stick, or learn how to tune with because you get decent results for cheap.
+Justin Ormsby A tune and youre at around 190hp, a little over 200 on the early 2000's 1.8T. Thats not bad considering its a hatchback. Got an Audi A3 1,8T myself with some basic mods, 220hp in a 1150kg/2500lbs car is not bad. No other hatchback or anything in the price range comes close, at least around here.
Luckily I got the AWP 180hp 1.8T, with downpipe & s2 software, I'm 230hp/250tq. That's crazy for a peppy little hatchback, plus so much of that torque is down low the car feels fast in the city. You can get on the highway quick etc, you're lucky bc you got that awd! I'm actually considering getting a mk4 r32 or a mk6 golf r & building it. My dream car is a cayman s but I don't track so It would be a sin to not put that car to use.
+Justin Ormsby interesting. I just picked up a 01 mk4 gti with 77k miles on it for 2500.Swapped in a ko4 turbo, injectors, fmic, a stage 2 unitronic tune, and a 3in downpipes. On the dyne she topped 241 hp. never had such a fun, cheap, and fast car.. Great little thing
+Justin Ormsby i appreciate the mk4s more now than when they came out, but i'm not sure i could ever own a VW that isnt a mk1 or 2. my old MK2 GTX with power recaros and all the rest...man. perfect. just needed another hundred HP.
matt, I think it's time to buy an mk4 r32. every time you drive one you seem to just love it. I can tell you I love mine. it's just so great in so many situations. I sure wish I had the coin for one of these amazing hpa kits!
Don't get me wrong, car is amazing and I really like it and have always loved the R32 in general. But "45k" all in is crazy. I am by no means an American car enthusiast but damn I could have like a 1000hp C5 at that price.
+MikeHuntIsItchy You're trying to compare 2 completely different things based on HP numbers only. This car has over twice the horsepower it comes with wifi-controlled Diff/supsension, and a cage...plus it's AWD! Saying you can have a 1000HP car for the same price doesn't detract from this car at all; they're just two completely different markets.
+daaper it would depend what you'd want, in a 600awhp car I'm assuming speed is what you're looking for. You get a lot more bang for the buck from like a C5, or even a new 5.0 coyote with some boost. I just don't see his car really being amazing at anything specific to justify 45kish in it, ya know?
+MikeHuntIsItchy If you do the math, things add up very quickly. Youd be amazed at how fast it goes, especially if you're including the installation on this car, which Marcel did include. I've spent over $30,000 on my fox body, and I didn't have to pay for wheels or tires, and I haven't touched the engine.
I drive my turbo R32 year round in all weather. I can transport my whole family if need be, and haul almost anything in it with the rear seats down. I can get 27 mpg on the hwy. Let's see your 1000hp vette do that bud.
Watching this video makes me miss my A1 (MK1) '83 GTI a WHOLE lot! Even if I could afford to have a car like this built, I'd still have a desire and a fondness for the A1 GTIs!!
beautiful engineering coming to fruition to make for a brilliant awd hatchback!! I would love to build one of these either Mk4 or Mk5! Shouts out to HPA Motorsports!
+greasegram Drive+ released 180 videos with an average length of 17 minutes in around 1.5 years at $3.99 a month. Roughly 13 dvds for $72. 2 years of xbox live is $10 less. A Gold membership would be more entertainment per Dollar if you only played 5 minutes a day.
+greasegram It's got nothing to do with how much money any of us have, and everything to do with these guys making us pay $4 every month for content coming from just ONE channel. There are tons of other car channels that are just as, if not more, entertaining than Drive that haven't adopted this greedy subscription bullshit (yeah, inflammatory language, I'm using it). If Drive is doing well for themselves with this business model, then good for them, there are enough people out there that value your content at the price you set. However, I don't and there are many others out there that don't. It's arrogant to price yourself above everybody else when you haven't done anything higher in value than everybody else. Matt Farah comes back with nothing but snide comments whenever this issue is brought up, but Matt Farah is a pretty snide guy in general. Then there was the issue where Chris Harris left RIGHT AFTER I started paying them, and Chris Harris was the main reason to watch Drive. Drive+ cares more about money than fans.
You can't say, but we can..so that was a quick 130mph? Quick car! I have a 300bhp TVR and a 280bhp Focus ST (5 cylinder turbo) and this Golf would murder both - love it!
I noticed the audio has been buzzing on your last few one takes not just this one. I was stoked to see you driving not only an R32 but an HPA one at that. If you want to see some bad ass VW products look up Kevin Meisner from Kraftwerx auto. He built an insane Jetta wagon swapped the 1.8 for a 3.2, haldexed and HPA tuned. he does not one it anymore but he has his own shop with some really cool stuff going on.
the most powerful Fwd car I have driven was like 200hp and that was a fairly modded 1987 VW jetta that torque steered like crazy. It doesn't seem that that much power is going to the rear. I can't imagine over 600 hp in a VW.
You are a braver man than I! Driving a 600HP golf on a canyon road!

Quality review. You guys seem natural together. Maybe do some more VW reviews with him in the future?
+Shayne Wolfe he has an open invite to bring me whatever he's got going forward, which is much easier said than done since they are from Canada.
+TheSmokingTire More shitting poutine right out the back of your pants.
R32's sound gives goose bumps every single time I hear it. Perfect sound.
The MK4 Golf R32 is my favorite VW ever produced!👌🏽
6 MONTHS AND COUNTING AND STILL NO CAR THANKS HPA FOR A GREAT SUMMER
My favorite engine of all time. This is insaaane.
Met Marcel a couple months back, he's a great guy and builds some sick cars! Great video as always!
thanks for the upload. apologizing again for audio problems when you've no reason to. i couldn't hear any buzzing, maybe my tinnitus cancelled it out :)
[and judging by the number of centerline markers you passed im guessing the speedo at 4:06 was around 110 ;) ]
+altern8ive Turn the volume up you can hear it. Fine at normal headphone volume levels.
***** audio is playing through my studio monitors so i can hear it fine, its just not detrimental to the content
Awesome One Take Matt! I grew up in the Langley BC area and can remember drooling time after time over some of the HPA built rides cruising around. Great stuff!!!!
This has to be one of my favourite one takes more like this please
That guy from HPA seems like such a cool friendly guy, very insightful but also a good personality, really added to the video. Love these mk4 r32s, ive got a mk4 2.slow right now BUT ONE DAY!
This one never gets old!
I agree!
Best car I have ever driven (stock that is), coming out of corners is insane, and the noise with the constant spitting is just stunning!
D0M1N0R
By far my Favorite!
Yup. The Mk IV is the best. I'd love one exactly like this one.
At last, some VW love! :D
+HorrorUberAlles It deserves it !
European spec Ep3's didn't come with a factory lsd.
+Mikael K When you really start leaning on a car that makes all the difference.......
Keep both man 💯 Honda's are pretty cool too especially the K series.
Marcel seems like a smart car dude. I want to see more of him.
Peter G. Great story. I think I've seen your build on VWVortex.
its not a freaking V6 its a VR 6 ENGINE!
Oh relax there hot shot.
.
+NameInsertPlease an inline engine implies the cylinders are in line. They are not, they sit at 11 degrees, hence in a V formation.
TheSmokingTire The joys of writing comments at 1:30AM. I have no idea what made me think it was inline, as I currently own a MK4 R32 and previously had a 12V GTI.
You're absolutely right, and I edited my comment.
@@TheSmokingTire the technical name is a vr6
Man i love the crackle from the exhaust; its just pure bliss
HPA makes BA cars. Great video, Matty!
That's where all these California wildfires are coming from! Matt test driving turbo cars, backfiring flames!!! I knew it!
vw r32, underrated hot hatch king
With HPA you can't go wrong, awesome video thanks for sharing. Love the sound this thing makes!
Actually you don't have to watch it on Drive+, you can just wait and they'll release it on normal /Drive just like all the other Drive+ videos haha. Not a golf fan at all but have always liked the R32
That's true. In 3 months it will be up on the free side
HPA is representing my territory! Good to see BC down in CA.
This would be my dream car if it was blue 💙
I'm a camaro guy converted to a Mustang guy but there's something about this style VW that I absolutely love and am really thinking about pulling the trigger on one
amazing car. sleeper status. love the simplicity
F'ING AWESOME!!! A tear rolled down my cheek when you said the manual trans was the "short coming" of the car. The manual is life Matt:-).
R32's are hard to find in my area now days. I've always wanted an R32. I look online every once in awhile and I can never find any.
CALIFORNIA APPROVED HANDGUNS
You'll find one but it'll have low miles not been beat on by some young kid.
CALIFORNIA APPROVED HANDGUNS Buy mine , supercharged stage 2 60xxx miles
I love the sound of The VR6. From the 2.8 12v, 2.8 24v, 3.2 24v, and the 3.6L 32 valve they have the most unique(well one of them)exhaust note ever.
SlowDown101 all of those make a the best sounds
SlowDown101
Wow great build 👍🏼👍🏼 I love my MKIV R32! OG Here too. VR6 all the way!
Is this the car from Gran Turismo 4?
When I saw it was a HPA Golf, I thought the same thing. 😂
+Misha van Kessel Well, I guesses you can say that.
Is that rogan in your avatar? Lol eat Yo alpha brains and buy kettle bells bitch
+shinzantetsu You're funny, you should have your own podcast.
+Misha van Kessel I know, wanna be my co-star?
I HAVE WAITED AGES FOR THIS.
13 out of 18! love it
Really nice....always loved the golfs, especially the still-timeless MK4 R32's/V6-4Mo's/& the Anniversary. Unfortunately only had it a month but wasn't told of hidden electrical-faults that could've been the loom, plus a £532 MOT/Service costs, coupled with shit-head vandals keying it whenever I parked, I swapped with a pal and he restored it to its full potential with a 220bhp-exhaust-popping tune up, full L.E.D.'s inside and out, and an 8K HID-kit....
nice! have a red tdi anni and a red mk4 r32. mk4 for life
Loved the hpa Audi TT from gran turismo lol
This one is in Gran Turismo as well. It's a silver one.
+YazeedSaber not this exact car. the one in gran turismo 4 and onward is the stage ii twin turbo version that makes 505hp.
I was wondering if anybody knew it was a gran turismo 4 :p I think this is one of the first I bought on that game... Very cheap and so fast :p
These are so hard to find now a days. I love them and will always love them. Beautiful cars.
Love this review Matt!
The mkIV R32 is greater than the sum of its parts, awesome video!
Always cool when a car pulls up and blows someone's doors off with twice the power it came stock with.
Love the Mk4 R32. Have seen some the HPA kits in person and they're top notch IMHO.
Really awesome group of guys too.
LOVE those wheels! BBS CH?
Yes those are BBS CH wheels
Rich Lincoln By far my all time favorite wheel too!
love the knowledge this guy is speaking. Really knows what he's talking about
that's the color of my car, tornado red, the rarest color for R32, I don't have an R32
I understand lol
+Ryan No Thanks my clear coat is just disintegrating, more and more, day by day
This V6 just sounds so smooth and the suspension looks just as smooth as well.
Bloody /DRIVE always takes good things away from us :c
Funny enough, one of the first up close experiences I had with a tuner car (and probably the reason I fell in love with tuners) was with an HPA scirocco that was imported for a customer in Houston. I remember I had bought new tires for my mom's car and was at this premier euro tuner shop called Motorwerks for them to mount an balance. While I was there, I actually got to see the owner take delivery of his car. All I can say is to this day I hold that car as one of the most beautiful creations I've ever seen. It still haunts my dreams.
+BecauseRicecar that car is still here in Houston, and it occasionally comes out to play..
+Aleks Morry I need to see that thing again, does the owner ever take it to shows like coffee and cars?
The back fire, dem feelz... This is a 24v right? To bad I only have the 12v vr6
Snap, crackle, pop.. Yum..
Love the flyby audio - keep doing this!
Real car guys won't even notice the buzz sound lol.
matt, I think it's time to buy an mk4 r32. every time you drive one you seem to just love it.
+TheSmokingTire shit.
I need another job.
Marcel the shell with boost on
+usagentcyclone HA! Nice.
i really enjoyed this guy , he really knows his stuff
monster hatch lol
beautiful engineering coming to fruition to make for a brilliant awd hatchback!! I would love to build one of these either Mk4 or Mk5! Shouts out to HPA Motorsports!
Sorry for being petty, but does Matt ever let anyone talk or get to their full point??? Jesus.. Nice video though.
Matt, your love... I feelz it :D But myself, loving these one takes. There has been a great variety lately.
you mentioned drive+, and i closed the window. Drive is dead to most of us. speak not of it.
You're that poor?
Lol
+greasegram yep, money for a car or for D+. Hmm tough choice(not really)
I believe this R32 will be featured in the next European car magazine.
To me this is the ultimate Underdog.
+Lazaro Carreiro could you send me the link
+damian devenish
Article isn't published yet. I believe it will be in the next issue.
ok cool thanks i will keep my eye out for it
+Sven C
That's a different animal.
lol yeah she moves
dude this is epic. its 2020 and I am dieing for a 2004 R32.
My favorite in a LONG time. Nice job Matt!
You can't say, but we can..so that was a quick 130mph? Quick car!
I have a 300bhp TVR and a 280bhp Focus ST (5 cylinder turbo) and this Golf would murder both - love it!
Every one is amazed by the power (me too) but im more amazed by the suspension and how well it handled in the canyon at that speed!
I believe that this R32 using the Bilstein PSS9.
Lazaro Carreiro shit well that explains everything
+Young Chapo 209
Lol
Didn't hear any problems with the audio, excellent vid.
Awesome. Best car you've featured in ages.
Nice to see you doing some drive by shots. Great to hear how these cars sound from the outside. Enjoying the vids a lot more now.
I am not even close to a VW fan, but this car is amazing. That popping sound too, what??????
I noticed the audio has been buzzing on your last few one takes not just this one. I was stoked to see you driving not only an R32 but an HPA one at that. If you want to see some bad ass VW products look up Kevin Meisner from Kraftwerx auto. He built an insane Jetta wagon swapped the 1.8 for a 3.2, haldexed and HPA tuned. he does not one it anymore but he has his own shop with some really cool stuff going on.
The only car I'd ever need! Nice find Matt
That is my dream car, i miss my 04 r32
Vr6 is one of the best sounding engines at any price
I've always liked the shape and style of those front headlights.
i have a mk4 jetta vr6 and i love that thing. most fun car ive ever driven
the most powerful Fwd car I have driven was like 200hp and that was a fairly modded 1987 VW jetta that torque steered like crazy. It doesn't seem that that much power is going to the rear. I can't imagine over 600 hp in a VW.
This actually going to be my next build. A big single R32. Haven't decided if MKIV or MKV yet though.
Matt, im glad you didnt stall 2 times in a row like in the RUF 993 BTR-2
The quality of build in your one-take's has really gone up here lately.. I look forward to every morning to see what you drove..
The mk4 r32 has always been my dream car.
WOW 😳 this car is sick man, with a Jamaican🇯🇲 accent
representing the Caribbean all the way !!!
