That’s what I was thinking.
It's NYC. You'll see some 50+ million dollar town houses here with the exact same issue. If you want total privacy you need a penthouse high up in the sky but then you'll have other drawbacks (swaying, windy outdoors if the have terraces at all). But once you cross the 75 million dollar mark you'll get privacy and views without being too high up in the sky that's where you get the price point where the real trophies in NYC are at (e.g. Bezos penthouse, Ackmans penthouse, etc.).
In New York that's the equivalent to a deserted island
it's a really neat spot but it's amazing how little you get in nyc for 17m
plus over 300k in annual property tax for this. every damn year. 300k, 600k, 900k, 1200k... I'll leave it at that.

With the increase in crime in NYC. I'd be afraid to stay in a glass house and if you kill someone for breaking in.. you'd be going to jail.
I'm grateful to be able to have something at this level of space and quality in the Caribbean but at a fraction of the cost.

The design feels very intentional to give the space breathing room while not afraid to show off the interior to the street or backyard. The arts give the place so much gravitas.

beautiful home. However, this house been on the market for years. Other realtors showed this same home on their channel before. The only complain is the prince for what you are getting and the windows. In NYC people love their privacy and you don't want people to look into your home. It will be ideal for a party spot. Overall thank you for your amazing videos keep up the good work. Love your content.
4,000 sq ft is a lot, but the space feels intimate.
Friends was filmed in Burbank CA, never in New York.
Friends wasn't filmed there . They just used stock footage of the exterior . Shows that are really shot in NYC , Law&Order , Sex and the City, NYPD Blue and Billions. It looks like they gave up on that basement bathroom 👀 for 17 million you don't have the luxury of giving up.

The renovation is certainly clean and $$$ but it's an aesthetic tragedy. This building could have been RESTORED to an unbelievably beautiful gem, given the obvious high budget they had. At least they kept the nice traditional classic front facade (they were probably mandated by the city to do so, otherwise they likely would have desecrated it too).

I always thought it was funny how the "Friends" characters were supposedly people with regular jobs but at the same time were somehow able to rent out very expensive property.
They weren’t. That was explained and explained and explained and explained. Monica illegally took over her grandmothers RENT CONTROLLED apartment. They probably paid 75$ a month. Max. That happens a lot here.
And chandler was in finance.
So at first it was Phoebe living with Monica, practically for free… and then Phoebe moved back in with her grandmother. And took over HER apartment when she died.
They lived very cheaply. Practically for free. And other than Phoebe and Joey all came from money.
Totally stripped of all it's character. I hate when they do that.

Never understood why ppl move to NY, the cost of living there is dumb. 16 million? you can buy a damn mansion in FL somewhere for that, or even better multiple small family homes that you could rent out or use air bnbs. No townhouse is worth 16mil
as they saying goes, the ones that get it, get it. the ones that don't, dont". most ppl who really enjoy nyc would not enjoy florida unless it's miami. the weather is great down there but otherwise it's just blah to me. much prefer to visit than live there.
