I like the apartment, I don't understand the appeal of NYC. Since I'm never moving there, that's fine by me.
I've never understood the hype over NYC. It's a loud, crowded, dirty, expensive hellhole filled with rude people. I'd much rather take that money and buy a ranch somewhere surrounded by nature. It's a much better way for humans to live imo!!

NYC has its issue but there's a lot of good stuff, too. The high density of people and businesses means there are career opportunities that simply don't exist anywhere else in the country. The city has always attracted immigrants from all over the globe, so you meet tons of interesting people, and you can get food from literally any country on earth. If you want something, there's undoubtedly a store that sells it in the city no matter what it is. You're always within a 10-minute walk of good coffee, multiple restaurants, a grocery store, etc. There are tons of historic districts with cool architecture. NYC is a mecca for fashion, art, and music. There are dozens of world-class museums/ cultural institutions.
I could go on, but I have a feeling these kinds of things don't appeal to someone whose primary goal is to not see their neighbors. Different stroke for different folks, I suppose. 🙂
that would be better but 20 years later, that ranch would be same 10mil but this one would be 35mil. that's difference 'location' makes on money part
