Although I get that changing people is wrong, the reason why she wants to change him a bit is because for the better. She mentioned how he did errands for the person who bullied him and it is kind of useful esp. in formal settings, esp. when meeting relatives. I used to have a bright personality but boys always bullied me when I was young and girls don't want to befriend me. They only started to approached me after I became a top student in school(since elementary until highschool). But now I've changed. I put a resting bitch face everyday so that nobody would dare to bully me anymore and so that those fake people will not approach me to become my friend. I have a few friends which I really trust and whom I share all my problems with but not that many cuz I have trust issue(my old friend which I thought was my bestfriend betrayed me). Having many friends is useless if they can't be there for you when you're struggling. So, I prefer quality over quantity. I am also learning to deal things by myself now cuz I realized that even my best friend can't always be there to support me whenever I need them. They also have their own problems to deal with. So, yeah...

Honestly when people things like that, I wonder if they're telling the truth? I don't live in America but I do live in a Western country. I don't think he would be bullied if he went to my high school but people would criticise his personality. And some characters in American shows have a similar personality to him but they're usually portrayed as strange and people treat them unfairly.

While the boyfriend's positive outlook is admirable, and he seems like an over all decent guy, he needs to believe in, and value himself. To be honest, his boisterousness is not the real issue. As I've said it's his perception of his self worth. He acts the way he does because he doesn't want people to hate him. He needs to realize that not all people are worth his friendship. He has to learn to let go of people who use him or abuse him. When you love and respect yourself, you're less likely to let others walk over you, use you, or bully you. It's worth losing a few superficial friends to learn who your real friends are. The people who are willing to accept you warts and faults and all and are willing to stand by you not just during good times but more importantly during bad times are those who are the ones you should treasure.
sleepy sadly I cannot imagine people with misophonia or migraine how much the loudness can affect them. He doesn’t have to be “quieter,” he should be able to express himself. Korea is a more conservative society though so I understand why it would be a concern there. But personally, he wouldn’t bother me that much because of his positivity. Of course he should be serious at times, but this world needs more positivity so I’m all for him on this one.

Hyperactivity isn't necessarily a medical condition as you don't need to treat it with medication (unlike ADHD) but simply through socialisation, education and self-awareness. He seems to show some symptoms on the the H in ADHD. Hyperactivity. • Having a short attention span and being easily distracted. • Excessive physical movement and excessive talking. • Little or no sense of danger. These are all symptoms I've noticed he possess. (P.S. I'm studying Psychology so maybe I'm just looking at the world from a wierd perspective and diagnosing normal people. If so - woopsy. 🙃 I diagnosed my best friend with Alexithymia cuz she didn't cry when a dog died in this movie. 😁)

I see many people in the comments saying it's not a concern but I think it is. There is such thing as being too positive . His passive demeanor will hold him back since he can't speak up for himself. If he has an unfair professor, bad boss, or a mean friend etc. he will not be able to advocate for himself and that's a problem. His personality is absolutely wonderful but I hope that he learns to become more stern in the right moments
Yeah honestly thank you for saying it. Like sure positivity is wonderful and he should never change his positive outlook on life but there are times when you need to express your anger and sadness. He was literally letting others push him around and bully him because he doesn’t know how to be angry anymore due to his bullying trauma and that is concerning. He won’t be able to grow and overcome his bullying if he doesn’t know how to stand up for himself.
Too much of anything isn’t good. I agree I was just stubborn on seeing how positive he was but like you said, it can also hold you back. There needs to be a balance and I feel it’s healthy to express more emotions than try to be optimistic all the time because it’s Draining and you’re ultimately denying yourself to vent how you feel.

I think he’s a little bit on the spectrum too especially with the way he talks, it’s not that bad but it just shows a little in his speech pattern, how it’s very hard for him to control his actions and he’s not necessarily aware of certain situations. He doesn’t seem to really has any problems but just minor, he just needs people to accept him as he is, being loving and patient with him.
I disagree. I'm not too familiar with social disorders, such as Autism, for example, but just because someone's quirky, doesn't mean they're on the spectrum. Plus, even if he was, it'd be too mild, from what I see here, for any type of treatment to be effective. Ie, it's unlikely he's on the spectrum, and useless information even if he was.

I don't get where this idea that if you really love someone you can ignore the things you don't like. That's not true at all. You can love someone despite something but eventually that something is going to start to annoy you. Think of all the couples you know who have been married for 30-40+ years, they end up being kind of similar right? There's a reason for that, it's called compromise and changing or at least working on the little things that drive your partner crazy. I used to have a bright personality but boys always bullied me when I was young and girls don't want to befriend me. They only started to approached me after I became a top student in school(since elementary until highschool). But now I've changed. I put a resting bitch face everyday so that nobody would dare to bully me anymore and so that those fake people will not approach me to become my friend. I have a few friends which I really trust and whom I share all my problems with but not that many cuz I have trust issue(my old friend which I thought was my bestfriend betrayed me). Having many friends is useless if they can't be there for you when you're struggling. So, I prefer quality over quantity. I am also learning to deal things by myself now cuz I realized that even my best friend can't always be there to support me whenever I need them. They also have their own problems to deal with. So, yeah...

While the boyfriend's positive outlook is admirable, and he seems like an over all decent guy, he needs to believe in, and value himself. To be honest, his boisterousness is not the real issue. As I've said it's his perception of his self worth. He acts the way he does because he doesn't want people to hate him. He needs to realize that not all people are worth his friendship. He has to learn to let go of people who use him or abuse him.
When you love and respect yourself, you're less likely to let others walk over you, use you, or bully you. It's worth losing a few superficial friends to learn who your real friends are. The people who are willing to accept you warts and faults and all and are willing to stand by you not just during good times but more importantly during bad times are those who are the ones you should treasure.

He doesn’t have to be “quieter,” he should be able to express himself. Korea is a more conservative society though so I understand why it would be a concern there. But personally, he wouldn’t bother me that much because of his positivity. Of course he should be serious at times, but this world needs more positivity so I’m all for him on this one.

Yeah honestly thank you for saying it. Like sure positivity is wonderful and he should never change his positive outlook on life but there are times when you need to express your anger and sadness. I think he’s a little bit on the spectrum too especially with the way he talks, it’s not that bad but it just shows a little in his speech pattern, how it’s very hard for him to control his actions and he’s not necessarily aware of certain situations. He doesn’t seem to really has any problems but just minor, he just needs people to accept him as he is, being loving and patient with him.

I don't get where this idea that if you really love someone you can ignore the things you don't like. That's not true at all. You can love someone despite something but eventually that something is going to start to annoy you. Think of all the couples you know who have been married for 30-40+ years, they end up being kind of similar right? There's a reason for that, it's called compromise and changing or at least working on the little things that drive your partner crazy. Well not all ppl could bear such attitude. U could completely accept his personality cuz u only saw it in the show for like few mins.. But imagine if u need to bear with his hyperness for 24/7.. It could be overwhelming, tiring & annoying especially the times when u feel sensitive & so on.. The bf is the 1 who take it for granted instead of the gf. Cuz he know she will not break up with him just cuz of dat, so he didn't try to understand his gf at all.. Which proof dat the bf couldn't be serious when needed

This boy is too innocent and precious for this world. He needs to learn how to stand up for himself and not trust others too easily. Lets be real not everyone is as pure as he is. There will be many out there who will take advantage of him and trash him out like he's nothing and could it bad enough that he might be scarred for life. I don't want him to change the way he acts and behaves I just want him to stand up against anyone being disrespectful and not give in easily.

Hes such a person full of pureness and sweetness. Hes really one in million & I rlly hope more people will realise that & wont try to shut him down cs honestly all u see him is sweetness & innocence. hes such a pure guy, I mean how can u not love him??? of course he needs to learn to express more of his emotions but other than that, hes just a sweet and pure guy.
what he needs is understanding. the gf should've been careful and understanding to him. he's been through alot. she should've known that in the first place. i am more frustrated to the gf than the bf
I feel like she is already very understanding. she accepts him for who he is. I think it's more what other people think and her being sad about the bad things they say about her boyfriend. and ofcourse it can be a bit embarassing sometimes hahah XD IDK how korea is with mental health/issues...but to me it seems like he has ADHD (I know people who have) but the fact this is never brought up in this conversation seems weird to me... it would have been the perfect spot to explain what it does to someone (hyper, attention-wise, loud, not being able to sit still, talk a lot...)
