Solid B. They struggled a bit. And have and some consistency issues, but he definitely has this team playing good basketball. If they make a run Cal deserves Coach of the year.
It's more the fact that Kentucky has/had a top 10 talent program and failed to beat a single top 25 team outside of Tennessee. Lost to Zags by 16, Lost to UCLA by 10, Lost to Bama by 26, Lost to Kansas by 9. Considering they have the reigning POY, excellent incoming class. So yea, definitely didn't live up to expectations.
Waiting on this SEC Tourney Vandy game. I've got nothing else on my mind the past 24 hours. Nate Oats doesn't know **** about this league or our program. He's coached in it for a handful of years. I've watched this league for 40.
@@Jdjohnson316 based on what I've seen the last 4-5 games absolutely. I don't think there are any dominant teams this year the tournament is going to be wide open.
Yea they’re definitely one of the hotter teams in college basketball right now. It doesn’t excuse losses , but at least we have hope that they can go on a run.
@@Jdjohnson316 Had won 4 of the last 5, including dominating Tennessee, at Florida by 8, crushing Auburn, losing to Vandy at home by 2 (injuries aside this would go under the "squandered opportunities" column) and then winning at a very tough Arkansas team who rolled them earlier in the season by 15 at home
Cal put this team together to fix some of the offensive shortcomings of the past several seasons, especially with 3-point scoring. Besides a few players on the court, what has changed? It looks like the same stagnant Calipari offense. If you had a thousand dollars for every time someone set a pick for CJ or Antonio on the wing, you'd be in serious debt by the end of the season. Here we are, going into the NCAA tournament as a 6 seed. What is this team's offensive identity? Who is the go-to player for a bucket when they desperately need one? Who is the go-to shooter when we need a 3 and time is running out? Who is the go-to when you need to put a man at the free-throw line to ice a game? I honestly don't know the answer to any of those questions, but it's beyond clear that Calipari doesn't know either. This team has players in Antonio and CJ that were high-efficiency scorers under other coaches and recruited to bring that to Kentucky. The players change but the coaching remains and we get more of the same. Cue the Cal defenders, "Cal can't make them hit the shots". Underachieving every year since 2015 isn't a run of bad luck, it's a clear indication of something seriously wrong with the system, not the players. With the talent of this team and the expectations from the "experts" heading into this season, there's no way this team gets anything higher than a C- for the season and that's generous.
B so far but still a couple opportunities to improve that grade to an A++. But let’s start with a win Friday. I mean come on guys we’re young, be patient we’re gonna work on things right after this episode of Little House on the Prairie.
Fan: B- Actual grade:C Tournment: A I believe they head to the sweet 16 and the final four natl championship next year. Next year's team is looking great
I know one thing the last Arkansas game was an A+++ maybe Cals most gutsy win in his UK era. Really hope we can make a run this year great group of young men
The UK football and basketball teams saw a lot of underperformance this season. I don't know what UK did, but the sports gods decreed that we would just lose to South Carolina and Vanderbilt this year for no good reason. (Although nobody is giving enough credit to Jerry Stackhouse's coaching or the acting ability of Vandy's team. Those players can sell a flop better than Meryl Streep.)
Cal should have seen early in the season these guys was riding way to high on the horse and brought them back down to reality. But he didn’t and this is the reality of it. We need a better start to the season next year!!!! Aaron Bradshaw, Dj Wagner, Reed Shepard, Big O, Livingston, Wheeler, and Reeves.
B- at best. Too much talent, too many squandered opportunities. Not real wins outside Tennessee. Exploiting the coal miner was the icing on the cake.
Lol…you so right
Great video!
Thanks!
Very good editing. Nicely done
Thank you very much!

D. Awful season. Can't wait for Cal to leave. So over this crap
The fact that most of the people here think that going 20-10 at Kentucky is a B grade is terrifying

Sad more than terrifying imo
Remember when "10 loss Tubby" got the boot for that record.
C+ to B-
Hard to give anything better than that considering the only ranked wins were against a mediocre Tennessee team.

Uhh CJ Frederick doesn't hit 3s... I bet he's below 10 percent.
B. Lots of winnable games we just couldn’t get it done
C+..but March is what matters and this team is playing as well as anybody. I LIKE MY TEAM
Playing as well as anybody? I love your positivity buddy.

We have four guys who can contribute, another who sometimes plays descent and the rest are awful.. (when Wheeler is out).

No they need to start Reeves I left his kid runner offense and he's a better ball shooter and he's better off the ball shooting
B-
grade C didn't get help defense , rim protection and floor spacing right. When Oscar gets cooked he must sit. Bench was not ready to help.
My issue isn’t with this year but my god before then look at the years before. This program is in decline
Certainly no better than a C. What happened to all the supposed talent Calipari recruited? I think other coaches are playing Cal.
This didn’t age well

Graded F. Calipari is on the same list of sleaze balls with Bliss, Haskins, Pearl, Sampson, Jarvis, Harrick, and Calhoun to mention a few.
