  • Why are oyster mushrooms curling up? The more factors that influenced the deformation of the mushroom, the more difficult it is to diagnose. Now we will look at what happens to mushrooms when, in addition to insufficient humidity, there is also high carbon dioxide.

It's a pity that the smell can't be conveyed through the screen. But lemon (golden) oyster mushrooms really smell very unique. Many people believe that this smell is similar to the smell of not quite fresh fish. If the mushrooms are elastic, their flesh is without spots, and their color is rich, then they are most likely good. And the smell will disappear during frying.

@@This_is_my_old_channel That's right- not so freshy -fishy ;) no signs of contam tho. They look very meaty, healthy, spotless and yellow, but the smell got me bit worried. Thank you very much for your reply, appreciate it

Have you eaten your golden oyster mushrooms yet? How do they taste?

@@OysterMushroom_expert-tech Yes I have. They smelled little fishy even after frying them but the taste was good. I still have pink oyster growing and the smell is similar. Not my favorite. I prefer grey oysters and I love my shiitakes and nameko ;)

@@mrnobody1456 Pink oyster mushrooms have a very delicate structure, I have not seen this in other species. And I also adore shiitake) and eringi.
