    I was so beyond hyped to see you had reacted to this song. Thank you Jesse for your reaction to one of my requests. I just find this song is so hypnotic and entrancing. The loop is short, but sweet. The soundtrack for this game is just so, so good, I cannot state it enough. You mentioned the "groove" of Castlevania music, and I definitely think that's what I enjoy the most about it myself.
    My favorite song in the whole soundtrack is definitely Wandering Ghosts, which of course was already reacted to. Rainbow Cemetery is definitely top 5 for me though. I easily could've requested the entire soundtrack of SotN, but sounds like you'll be playing this very soon, so you'll be hearing all the songs soon enough! It's a fantastic game, I really hope you enjoy it, Jesse. Not a bad choice at all for your first Castlevania. I'll definitely catch the vods if I can't make it live 😎✌

    I do believe that Michiru Yamane is indeed a great composer, so it's a shame that there actually aren't a whole lot of games around that she composed for. It's a bit of a curious case with her, because she worked with Konami since the late 80s, then went freelance in 2008; since then, there's been maybe a dozen titles she has done any work on.
    It's cool that you're playing SotN, it's really an awesome game. The only Castlevania games I really like are the RPG ones in the vein of SotN.

  • @SMNtheNight

    Michiru's Yamane's works around this time and into the GBA/DS era were absolutely INSPIRED. I hope Jesse discovers Aria of Sorrow so badly! Literally almost any song in that game, every single one is incredibly immersive and magical.

    This really brings me back. Castlevania: SoTN was one of the first PlayStation games I've ever played, and it's still one of my favorites. The game itself is just incredible, but the music is a big part of why the game is so special to me, and what got me interested in videogame music. This song in particular isn't even in my top 10, but I still love it. Hope to hear more!

    Literally the best gaming OST ever, and Michiru's greatest masterpiece.
    I dunno if you covered it already or not, but if you haven't, The Clocktower theme will blow you away.
    Fun fact: If you pop the original PSX CD into a CD player, it will pkay a special track with Alucard telling you that it's actually a PlayStation Disc and that you should pop it into a PS1 to enjoy the game.
    * EDIT: because I am a MASSIVE vgm nerd (and fan of Castlevania) just wanna recommend a few tracks for anyone who may only be familiar with the Netflix series;
    - Trevor's Theme (Curse of Darkness), Lament of Innocence (Leon's theme and namesake of a game), and the intro to Order of Ecclesia - it's very short but high tempo and just absolutely amazing.

    The best super nintendo stuff that you NEED to do in this life since you mentioned it, is definitely the full soundtracks of the following:
    FF6, Chrono Trigger, Super Metroid, Donkey kong 1 and 2. Those are probably the top ones, maybe Zelda Link to the Past as well. Their music is magical it pretty much transcends absolutely the majority of console games out there.
