    Sweet video. Been tryin to find something like this. Building a 25G for my Evo 8 and have no idea how to put it together - basically the same thing though.

    hey its rob again, I'm gonna buy your rebuild kit for sure now hahaha.
    anyways, I turbo my engine recently, but my motor's sleeve gave up and water and oil mxed. do you require me to get it hot tanked or anything like that?
    if anything, I was wondering how much will it be if I was just to ship it out to you to rebuild it? let me know. Thanks austin.

    Hello, I was wondering what white grease you use? I bought two of your kits and a few months ago and am just now getting around to rebuilding :-)

      +GrandSportX You just have to go to your local auto parts store and ask for white grease.

    So when I took my 16g apart on the hot side there was a "small" snap ring in the cebter and outer side of bearing.
    Yet not on cold side.
    Cold side just had the one in center you mention
    It had a spot for the sbap ring no doubt the groove it there and my exducwr sat I. Where it should tho it didn't "snap" in
    (Tried with and with out the snap ring on outer side of bearing, dame result each way)
    So before I run thus...
    Is that snap ring supposed to be there?

    Not sure i’m comfortable with not torquing it, anyway you could reply with what the number in footpounds or nm is?

      Torque wrenches can’t torque in reverse. There maybe a special torque wrench that can do it but I’m not aware of one.

    okay, so i just recently took apart a hand-me-down big 16g EVO III turbo, saw a ton of heat marks and solidified oil in the bearing housing as well as a broken turbine shaft. I was planning on doing a rebuild of it anyways, but do i need to invest in a new bearing housing? i know i need to get a new turbine shaft and a rebuild kit, also would it behoove me to get the 20g billet compressor wheel and the outfit it with a big compressor housing? is there somebody i could get in contact with on what to do? i know i commented on a video previously about a compressor wheel upgrade for my 16g (yes i have two of them, one is installed on the car, and the other was a freebie that i was going to build for when i can get more power eventually). great videos keep em comin!

      +nick ameiss you can check the rear seal area on the bearing housing by pressing the rear seal in to check to make sure the piston ring gap is closed. I can send you an invoice for the parts you need, just let me know what you need.

    Hello Austin, I have been subed and watching your very informative clips for over a year now...and I have to say that I have learned a great deal and STILL learning. I was wondering if you either have already done a rebuild or any sort of instructional video on the Nissan RB25 DET series 1 or 2 turbo charger. I have a 1995 Nissan Skyline GTS-25T with the RB25 DET 2.5 litre Engine. I have replaced the failed factory turbo charger with an Arashi TDO6 SL2 Turbo but I have not had a chance to fully test it yet because the car is now parked and waiting to have body work and paint done to it. It is currently still in the Factory color..."Super Silver" which I plan to repaint the same.
    Keep up the awesome work and vids...👍☺
    P.S....do you have any rebuild kits for the factory turbo charger?

    • @turbolabamerica
      @turbolabamerica  5 лет назад +1

      That one has a ceramic turbine wheel if it’s the one I’m thinking about. I upgraded one to bb gt3071r but that’s all I ever did with one as far as a rebuild goes

    • @dreamvouyer67
      @dreamvouyer67 5 лет назад

      @@turbolabamerica Thank you for your speedy response. It is in fact the Ceramic turbine wheel that Nissan spec'd on that turbo, supposedly to aid in faster spooling...but I do not mind upgrading it because it is well known that the Ceramic turbine wheel is very limited in raising boost levels much above about 10 psi safely. I do not know how good or reliable this Arashi TDO6 SL2 Turbo is because I have yet to put it to the test like I stated earlier. It does seem to be well built and has a very robust looking billet waste gate with a 1 bar spring...about twice what the factory turbo charger was spec'd with.

    Is this core , the casting is it made by mitsu? Will this fit to any comp housing as long as the same wheel specs from the old turbo

    • @Thr33.Sid3z
      @Thr33.Sid3z 5 лет назад

      Wheel specs are just a part of the build. If ur building it for an Evo 9, then the housing has to be for a reverse wheel. Also, this is a 20g comp wheel, so it won't fit the old housing unless u machine it. Each turbo has a specific sized CHRA

  • @petermz8770

    I bought this kit from you, i just install it. Do i have to balance it? oh by the way is a evo III 16g.

    • @turbolabofamerica7350
      @turbolabofamerica7350 10 лет назад +2

      you dont have to balance it, because the components are already balanced from factory. If you use the nut with the balance mark, then be sure to mark the orientation of the shaft, nut, and compressor wheel to keep it in the original balance spec. You could even throw out the balanced nut and use a new nut and go back to component balanced spec.

    Would a 68hta fit the thrust bearing that comes with your kits? Or does it need to be grinding? Just want to make sure I know exactly what I'm doing before I pull my turbo out.

    I have a banks sidewinder te06h-25c will a 25g wheel fit in the compressor housing?

    • @turbolabamerica
      @turbolabamerica  5 лет назад +1

      Most likely not. The 25g is a superback wheel. Yours is a flatback. Usually the flatback wheels are taller
