I live in Novosibirsk (a large city in central Russia). All of our sparrows died out long ago, unfortunately. Only pigeons are left. And unlike in France, no one even cares. About 20-25 years ago we had a lot of sparrows. It's a shame that these birds are disappearing.
I live in coastal southern California and I used to see these all over the place, I don't see them so much but I see more of our native birds. I always thought they were cute though.
It's not just sparrows, all songbirds and all wildlife is dropping in numbers. Even insects which will have devastating effects. We are in fact facing a sixth mass extinction, the first one that is not caused by natural phenomena. There are simply too many humans and too little space left.
The pesitisides used in crops may be affecting these Sparrows reproduction capabilities. Disappearance of habitat and food shortage like insects and worms are all the major cause. See the public must be made aware to take care these domestic birds and provide space for their living and reproduction. In major cities and towns around the world these little birds and squirrels are finding it difficult to survive due to modern buildings and Co2 emissions, natural food not available, no water and other challenges like trees were cut down for widening roads and excessive heat on Summer seasons. Save the "Sparrows and Squrilles" is the Slogan now.
CATS -you’ve got to control your cat population. We’ve got too many in NYC. They boss away other birds and murder songbirds. I doubt you have to worry about bringing them back. They are very resilient
I've eaten sparrow kushi suzumekushi on a stick in Japan...but take your pick for depopulation...toxins, plastic, climate change, lack of habitat, lack of insects.
They have stopped here in Sicily for months, some of them making their nests inside the outer box of the air conditioners. I think it's the first time I have seen these birds in my country. Funny how they chose Sicily instead of Paris. Can't blame them, Sicily is beautiful hahaha Vive l'Italie 😁
DW overdubs their interview subjects. That permits a viewer to comprehend the news at a reasonable pace, rather than here, or on PBS, where you must read fast rolling subtitles with your full attention to achieve the same thing. Its not my want to practice language learning at pleasure of a media outlet. The intention I understood was keeping astride current events. If the values of some producers are that emotion and language are of equal or greater importance than the information within then you have disregarded the purpose of language and in turn suggest conservative options that prefer segregated opinion.
Germans like dubbing. And you forget that not all people know English well. And for many such people, English subtitles are more understandable than English speech. So there are people who would say thank for subtitles.
@@Mychannel-k4j i dont take umberage, offense, to subtitles. But i know those who cannot see, or well. Subtitles are utterly worthless to a great many people. As i have only so much time to take in different perspectives I'm given the difficult choice of turning to other sources. That unfortunately often means different topics. This story doesn't likely have universal appeal so the entry is already narrow.
CATS! Keep them inside or on a leach. Stray cats should not be allowed to exist in cities, the damage they cause to the birds are removing the wonderful bird singing that can lift the spirits of people everyday.
Domestic and feral cats. People let their cats out. They hunt incredibly well. House cats have a devastating impact on local wildlife.

Every March 20, we celebrate world sparrow day.Sparrow is a good friendly bird.It should be protected.
So many species die off every day. We are destroying our planet. 😭
8 billion humans and almost no wild animals left,
Nature out of balance,
Lack of seed bearing grasses which is the main diet of the sparrow

Maybe it’s the insane heat .
They used to do well in Australia. Although were technically a pest. Dear little things.
Kind of odd some birds are missing in france and now paris has a bedbug epidemic. Maybe the two coincide?

Whatever it is one thing is certain, human finger prints are all over it!
