Melissa great video, I was wondering if you would consider reading “touch not the unclean thing” it’s about why the KJV/received text should be used and not the critical texts. I’d love to hear your thoughts on this subject.
😄 this was good!
As someone said, "everybody is a Christian until it gets biblical."
I love this quote!
Truly said, indeed!
If I steal this quote am I sinning? lol
The Ancient OrthoDox Fathers were crystal clear how to tell a Christian from a nominal "Christian". OrthoDoxy/CathOlIcity/Christianity is a spiritual status of someone who adheres to and infallibly applies Total Divine ReVelation. We're not at liberty to pick and choose.
So true
I like how everyone says "The Bible has been corrupted" while corrupting the Bible.
Yes, and sometimes not even reading the Bible before trying to dismantle it.
It's amazing how common a practice this is, quite fascinating...
My biggest pet peeve when I hear that… when every scholar understands and knows that the Bibles of today match the ancient manuscripts of the first century. Not to mention that the Old Testament that we use and the Torah that Israel uses matches nearly word for word with extremely slight variants that are so minute that they are only noticed by a high level expert.
The Bible is corrupt to those that refuse to follow it
@@madmaddie1702 most people that do that, have read the bible and have done so just for debate. Like myself. Christianity is an outdated belief, and cherry picking is the only way for modern Christians to make it in this new age.
We live in a strange period at the end of time where when someone says they are a Christian you have no idea what they believe.
It's a two edge sword in my opinion. It's good that we don't blindly follow everything we are told at face value. A good Christian should be always learning and often we'll have to rethink all our believes because they don't make sense to us anymore, and to get to a deeper understanding there will me moments of doubt, moments we lose faith...
And there is still room for disagreement even in the Church. Both Orthodox and Roman catholics don't agree in everything, yet we wouldn't consider one group the real chrisitian while the other being fake when most of our doctrine, belives and trsdiction, art, iconography is the same.
Well, there is people who say those things, but that's their problem.
I know it's something you said in passing, but I wish people wouldn't casually throw around the idea that we live at the end of time. There's no support for it, Biblical or otherwise, and it leads to some foolish and irresponsible behavior toward the world.
@@michigandersea3485 There's been plenty of support for this being nearly the pinnacle of human depravity. Between that and different endtime events explicitly noted in the Bible I'd say this is probably about it. We don't have to agree, we just both have to be able to state our opinions freely and continue living our lives as grounded Christians.
@@deadvikingtrolls and here I thought the near-end of the Roman empire was the pinnacle of depravity. 🙄
@@shmataboro8634 Nope, it only gets worse. Just like the Bible says. I'm glad to have run into another argumentative sort though, good to hear from you.
I grew up JW before being saved in my twenties. I lost it when she said "everything is pagan.... SMURFS!" I remember those stories from my childhood.
I grew up "non-denominational" Evangelical and was taught the same stuff just to a lesser extreme. Halloween, Smurfs, and anything else kids liked were deemed "demonic". My mom told me that Halloween was originally when druids extorted gifts from houses in exchange for not killing their children.
I grew up in a Church of God in Christ (COGIC) church and went to a non-denominational Christian school and I was told that Halloween, the Easter bunny, and Santa Claus were all evil. Luckily for me though, my mom did let me enjoy the Smurfs lol.
Wait, are you serious about the smurfs?
@@UrsahSolar Well if you think about it. The smurfs all have white hats and the papa smurf has a red had. That is a direct link to the KKK. They are all white pointy hats and the leader of the KKK has a red hat. Also, the names of the evil characters in the smurfs all have Jewish Hebrew names which is supposed to be anti-sematic. I wasn't JW but I used to be a heavy conspiracy theorist and this is what I was told. Although I am a full believer in Jesus ONLY now, I still can't help but think it's true about the smurfs. Hollywood has been known to be anti-sematic, which is silly, because most of them come from Jewish families.
@@CuteSceneChic Yeah, I've heard that now that you mention it. I've always enjoyed conspiracy theories. If the smurfs are neo-nazis, that would make them neo-pagans too. Alternatively, the WatchTower org picked some innocuous worldly thing out of a hat and decided to fearmonger about it. That way the JW's are kept constantly insecure and are therefore dependant on the organization's ok on every little thing.
As an Indian I can confirm that "New Age Christianity" is Hinduism.
There is an Indian family that runs the little motel in the little town I live in. I was talking to the father and he said he was Hindu but he believed only Jesus was God. It was the strangest conversation I have ever had about religion.

There is only 1 Christ
My friend once said, "We won't judge you about your religion, we believe one thing and your family believes what a 3000 year old book tells them!" That was when I first experienced the little things christians go through everyday, I felt so patronized
But they didn't even say anything disrespectful dawg
Timeless wisdom is timeless for a reason.
One of my favorite quotes I first heard from the movie tortured for Christ about Richard Wurmbrand. Here is his quote “There are two kinds of Christians: those who sincerely believe in God and those who, just as sincerely, believe that they believe. You can tell them apart by their actions in decisive moments.”
Yes! Because that will show which ones are living by the Holy Spirit.
I look at it as the "Loving Jesus and trying my best to be like Him" Christians and the "I can do whatever I want because Jesus already pre- paid for all my sins" Christians. The second variety are kind of hard to take.

@@Beeontree You've probably googled it in the last couple of days, but the word "Christ" is an Anglicisation of the Greek "Χριστος" (Christos), which means "Anointed One".
The Greek word itself is a translation of the Hebrew word Messiah, which also means "Anointed One", and refers (if I recall correctly) to the role of the Messiah as a prophesised king of the Jews because a king would be anointed with oil as part of the coronation ceremony (I think).
Hope that helps.

I had a coworker who claimed to be Christian. So Christian in fact that she uses tarot cards, dowsing rods, practices pyromancy, communes with spirits, thinks is funny or cute that her friend is getting visits from a demon calling itself Azazel, laughing off my concern at said visits saying she taught her friend all the most powerful runes and wards to protect her from evil spirits, denies everything about the Bible and Jesus, and refuses to answer the question "What defines a Christian in your mind?"
I owe her a debt of gratitude. She taught me to be way more discerning when someone says they're Christian.
Wow. Well apparently the black magic bible does speak of a Jesus. satan most definitely believes in the one true Lord Jesus Christ.
Yeah, what part of all her witchcraft was Christian?

Some People like the title Christian but don’t want to be Christ like. So you can’t except god when you don’t except the way god is. God wants us to be Christ like we will fall short. The falling short is not the problem it is that most so-called Christians can not even do the most basic things. They don’t know how to love everyone and not hate anyone. Which is not actually hard they can’t even do that basic thing. They say I’m Christian and see someone struggling at work and tell on them instead of trying very hard to help. These so called Christians go around gossiping and wanting revenge. If you do these things you are not a Christian because you can’t do the basics.

True
The early church was as diverse or more than the modern church.
Most of the "heresies" mentioned in this video have their roots in the early church.
The video started out as hillarious and then it became more and more tragic as it went on. I was just hoping there would be one genuine Christian that you would interview. Isn't it tragic that this is the reality of what many people's idea of Christianity is.
That’s how I am feeling right now 😢
First few minutes it was funny, but the more it goes deeper, it’s very serious!
My sister in law is the New Ager. Literally word for word. I have to really control myself when she starts going on her 'spiritual' tangents..because every fiber of my being wants to laugh in her face. 🤣 I mean, she can't actually be serious, can she??
It would be good to practice meekness with her
She's probably influenced by those "spiritual guides" in social media who's dabbling into Tarot cards and crystals. All of those people say the same thing. You need to tell her that her understanding is way off and start telling her the facts bit by bit. At least that's what I did when I was in her place a year ago.
Hang in there, control yourself.. I went down that path too. And its draining, for there is no true life in it. Sooner or later she will get exhausted and will turn to Christ and God. Living without God is a destructive path that ends in death in the end... Spirituality just keeps your head above the water but the Bible is the real nourishment for the soul. Reading Isaiah opened my eyes.
Isaiah 57:20-21, Mat. 20:11
But it can happen that she will never turn around : isaiah 57:10
The fact that I was dying for the last person to actually represent a real Christian shows how well this video was made
Me too - but a well made to the point video
I was totally feeling that way too!
It feels that way because these are all caricatures that are a shallow representation of those who disagree with you
@@grace_994 So.....You agree with everyone? That means u ain't got a backbone. Stand for something or fall for everything. At least a true Christian knows what they stand for, even tho they know that others will disagree with them. A true Christian is also aware that they disagree with others. & thats perfectly ok. Peace
@@valarmorghulis4801 It's a good thing it's ok for us to disagree between ourselves because the followers of Jesus have been disagreeing on doctrinal details since day one. Back before the now Catholic church was organized there were groups of Jesus followers who believed all kinds of different things. Jesus died....Jesus didn't actually die....Jesus was celibate and sex is a sin....Jesus was married and sex is a celebration if life..... Jesus was condemned to death but a look-alike was crucified instead of him....Jesus was a spirit who never had a physical body to start with... and on and on. The idea of the virgin birth was tacked on to the story decades after the crucifixion. Jesus was trying to upgrade Jewish teachings to prepare the Jews for the end of the world, but Saul if Tarsus ( who never actually met Jesus) took over the Jesus movement and added in teachings Jesus and His Apostles did not teach, and expanded the teachings from Jews only to the Gentiles so that the Roman Empire could use the religion to control the masses. Basically Christianity has always always been a very mixed bag.
There's also a version that goes something like this: "Yes, of course Jesus died for our sins, but I get to decide what's a sin and what's not a sin."
People need to know and understand that ONLY God decides what sin is and what is sin. Anything contrary to God, IS sin. And because we are sinful beings, we NEED Christ Jesus.
That there is the only decision of any eternal importance that we get to make: the decision to accept Jesus Christ as our Lord and Saviour.
Jesus Christ is our only hope for salvation and eternal life.
Jesus Christ is the ONLY way to the Father in heaven.
OMG that's so true (don't worry I'm not being sarcastic)

I was the last character for the longest time. I went to church every week and volunteered because it made me feel good. Brought my Bible everywhere (almost never opened it) and was excited my church was big and loved it's "perks." I stopped going to church for quite a while and still don't really go. I'm trying to find myself again in Christ. It's been hard but He's helping me through it.
I was that one until middle of High School. I've thought of it as the "faith of the parents" view, where you take some buzzwords from them and mix it with all the stuff being taught to us by the world.
I'm guessing a lot of people who grew up going to church can relate with that. It wasn't until going through catechism in an ELCA church and our pastor teaching us about Luther that drove me to dive into scripture for myself.
After reading start to finish, the church I attended got a new pastor who just told personal stories. I got my driver's license and started attending a church about 45 minutes away on my own (sometimes I could get friends or my brother to come with), because they were teaching from the text.
It is crazy how God uses all things to direct his people.
During a very tough time in my life, my faith was greatly strengthened when I started to study God's attributes by just going through the Bible and writing down all His characteristics I came across. It really made me see what a complex, and holy, and majestic God He is, and what an honor it is to be called His child. I also made a list each day of everything I had to be thankful for, knowing that it all comes from Him. It was a very humbling and spiritually rewarding study that I would highly recommend! I'll pray that God blesses your time reading your Bible, and directs your path forward as you try to honor Him. ❤️
@@mungbean345 That sounds like a good way to get to know God as a person, not as a mere abstract proposition. I've found that to be so important
You are not alone. I've spent most of my life being part of the "Christian club." I only felt comfortable at larger churches who spent almost a full hour on "worship music" and 30 mins on the "sermon" with just a few scripture references. I think I finally got it through my thick skull- church is not supposed to be a form of entertainment, AND the worship music isn't for me to get something out of it- it's for Our Lord Jesus.
Yeah, big/mega churches definitely have some nice perks, but the doctrine in those churches makes it a breeding ground for false converts.
Some mega churches have more sound doctrine than others, but even those churches have really big doctrinal issues.
*Has flashbacks to when I was once a Jehovah's Witness* 😵💫
I'm really glad Jesus got me out of that... still working on correcting my beliefs. There are so many wrong thinkings and social pressures in this world that it makes it really difficult to get my mind straight on things and just listen to God instead of the influence of wrong ideas and internal desires. But I know Jesus is enough to be saved, he really is and that is what is important, no matter how much we fail. His grace is so amazing bruh 😭😭😭
My dad's currently doing a job for Jehovah's Witnesses and is slowly trying to tear down the evil spirits on them and get them saved. So amazing that you know the truth now, love! May God bless you
@@elara715 Wow that's so good to know! They really need the help. Yes thank you so much, I'm so thankful to God for helping me and my Dad and brother to see the truth. May God bless you too sister as well as your Dad and his efforts!
How painful 😣 it’s so hard to watch. God bless you
This was so good! 🙌🙌🙌
I know this video has been out for awhile but I just saw it and literally laughed out loud! Great job Melissa! I enjoy & agree with your content. 😊
This one ranks right up there with Women's Bible Study!
My favourite phrase in Melissa's videos, "Its in the bible or something"😂
Great stuff ma'am.
You are so great. Loving watching your confidence grow and grow. You go girl. I can imagine Father looking down on you and smiling. He blessed you with keen observational skills and comedic timing. So chuffed we have RUclips.

True Christian = rooted in the Word for truth, following His steps through faith and has a relationship with Christ
Fake Christians = rooted in occult, following their own ways, and has a relationship with the world
Good video, miss
The Mormons, JWs, and just about everyone else mentioned in the video would say it is them who have a personal relationship with Christ and you do not.
How can you prove your experience is real, but theirs is not?
It grosses me out when people say, "All religions like islam believe in the same God." -LIKE, NOOOOO they DON'T.....

1 John 4:1 says,
"Beloved, believe not every spirit, but try the spirits whether they are of God: because many false prophets are gone out into the world."
The Mormons and the JWs and other Christians out there really think that they're getting close to Christ but the false prophets running the institutions are letting them astray. They used the Bible to twist into something that's not true.
That's why we have to test every spirit to discern whatever they're experiencing is real or fake.
@@loganvanderwier8866 because Extra-Biblical truth, is not Biblical Truth
@g513 I'm pretty sure that you're not even able to prove your own existence.
These days you can’t say “I’m a Christian” without feeling they’re judging you and have an 🦅 👁 on you all the time!
Let them judge…
Try to remember that not all Christians judge others.

You openly say you're a christian then people start to hate you :/ they say to not be judgemental yet they're judgemental to Christians because they're against at what you believe
Yoooo!! This should be the top comment. God bless you
This was amazing!!
Thank you so much for bringing this beautiful satire to life. Sooooo glad I found you 😂😂😂♥️♥️♥️
There are a lot of “Christians” these days. It’s really frustrating. Great video. Made me realize how tight my circle of true servants of Christ is. It’s only about 3 people. Can’t find a church that’s not scared of this beast system and the corona. Blessings in Christ Jesus
Amen! We're currently churchless for the same reasons, for the most part
Calvary Chapel Chino Hills, Pastor Jack Hibbs. CCCH streams every service live online.
If you look up spencer smith he has a list that shows good churches in your area, he helped my family find our church, and we love it
Really? That's awful. I live in a crazy leftist-ran state, and there are a few churches in my area who have been standing up against the crazy mandates. However, finding a traditional, more fundamentalist church- took a lot more searching. Praying you find a healthy church near you.
Why would a church be scared? If the congregation is wearing masks, it's because the church is following the county's guidelines for protection. A mask isn't going to stop the gospel..tired of people letting this be a source of contention.
Almost spit out my coffee when she said "SMURFS." Ha! Here's one for you, an exchange I had on FB with a neighbor: I teach a faith-based dance fitness class at a local church. We don't charge, we take donations and view it as a ministry to the ladies in our local area. A neighbor of mine teaches yoga and offered to come to our class and lead a yoga practice. I kindly told her that adding another fitness format would be against our culture (culture of the company whose format we teach) and wouldn't fit with our group because we are Christians. She told me, "Oh, I don't know if you know, but I'm Presbyterian, but I haven't been in the church for a while. But in my classes, I try to be more agnostic because I have many Hindu and Buddhist friends who attend. So I try to be more agnostic." I couldn't believe it-- no true Christian walking with the Lord would say "I try to be more agnostic."
So many don’t understand that Practicing Yoga is practicing Hinduism! So sad! We need more education in the churches about this!
Thanks for sharing!
@@christincommon5496 it's not if you're only doing the exercises. But if you're practicing it as a religious thing/lifestyle then it is.
Nor would a christian practice yoga in the first place, since yoga is a religious practice of another religion. It's incompatible with a faith in the one true God.
Good.
As long as you judged her.
@@epic7224 any Yogi will tell you that it is impossible to separate the poses from the worship. It’s not exercise.
This is great Melissa keep it up!
Great presentation! Thank you!
I LOVE parody hour! These are so accurate and funny! Thanks Melissa! ❤️
Ex Mormon hear ! Soo spot on ! Love this thank you soo much. 🙌
A very fun an interesting way of presenting the various doctrines. I like what you are doing Melissa!
Thank you for your diligence and edification, you are well informed and I appreciate you and your ministry
someone give this girl an award for spectacular performance. i gotta hand it to you girl, your portrayal of the progressive Christian lady had me cringing to the point of going face first down a flight of stairs. Grace and peace be with you sister.
Melissa!!! Thank you for addressing the Jesus/Michael belief! God bless you for this!!!
Wooow...this was eye-opening good!
This is so funny but ....scary too...cause it is so spot on true. Love these little skits. I learn so much through them.
If only Mormon missionaries were that upfront about what they actually believed! When my friends and I befriended some in college, we had to practically squeeze all that out of them! They were so evasive! I mean it might have been because they didn't really know...one was like 15 and had to ask his partner about everything we asked, and the other guy admitted that he didn't actually believe any of it until he had already left on his mission! When we asked if he thought our baptisms were invalid, he eventually said yes. Let that sink in...the baptisms of believers in Jesus were not valid, but his baptism - when he didn't even have faith - was more valid because it was done by the LDS church!
That makes zero sense...
Yeah, it's like you have to convert a Mormon to Mormonism first to even get anywhere sometimes.
Literally everything I said is found right on the LDS website. Backing up facts from the source (lowercase "s") makes it much more fun 🤓
I knew the second would be a Mormon when you said "she's sooo nice."
This is so good! We have to be aware. This is hit me so hard when we moved in to our house. We had these neighbors who we let our son play at their house and he came home saying he watched a cartoon about Jesus at their house. So we asked them about it and they said they were "Christians" so at first we were relieved but something didn't feel right about it so we asked them some questions about their faith and we quickly realized their beliefs were different and it turned out they are actually Mormon! Needless to say we stopped letting our son play at their house and we had to sit him down and share with him that they are not Christians. Very deceiving!
What children's Christian videos do you recommend? I'm newer to the faith and these videos are so helpful? How did u explain they weren't Christians?
That could’ve been an opportunity for you to share the gospel to them 😊 different beliefs doesn’t mean we have to stray away from these people… Christ’s death and resurrection is for everyone. God bless you. ❤️

Story of my life growing up in the South and now here in Arizona. Everyone claims to be Christian but most don’t care what the Lord says about what we do with our lives. He’s not their authority, their King, their Lord, God’s just someone up there whom they try to use for their own vain reasons.
You'll meet many people who claim to be christians but have secular worldview and haven't been to church in years
Yes when we have an idea about God that's not biblical it's idolatry bec we've made up a god to suit ourselves.
I literally just experienced this with two false christians of different stripes. Mormon and a New Ager. Everything said here is spot on.
Yeah one of my good friends is Mormon and I've tried to convince him that Jesus is God and that Joseph Smith is not a prophet but he just won't budge.
Sister Melissa, wonderful truth in your satire here. Your variety of expressions is certainly a gift from God for this purpose.
I love this
You are so gifted.
That was awesome! You really made it easy to see the false versions of Christianity.

Nice, entertaining way to introduce the many fallacies "Christians" have. Wow: JWs, Mormons, Universalists, Children, they all need to hear the Gospel.

Thank you for making this.
Wow! Fantastic video I loved it!
