I own both and it's a toss up honestly .. explorer awd load was 66k out the door jeep grand cherokee L limited awd Here in ga was 57 out the door .. so price wise jeep all day . Explorer handles better in the truns less body roll
The plastics on the Fords dash and console look and feel low quality. I like the Grand Cherokee but I wish Stellantis differentiated the design more between Grand Cherokee, Wagoner and Grand Wagoneer.
I drive the Ford for work and the L is my personal vehicle..So far I like Jeep much better

Sure explorer is more affordable but grand cherokee has a more upscale interior which is the main attraction for drivers.

I drove the explorer it fell great. It has stiff suspension and sport feel. Not a boat ride. Can the jeep compete with explorers sport suspension?
Explorer and traverse drives the best then all the 7 seater suvs. Just hard to chose beeteeen traverse and explorer
