To clarify, Guts impregnated Casca. But Griffith has had a negative effect on the fetus. I'm not sure who told you it was Griffith's baby but they're incorrect.
I appreciate the fact that you have dedicated time to seek answers. Many people will recommend the movies or TV shows as a complement to this, but the truth is that none of them do it justice. If you want to enjoy the whole story without any kind of censorship, and of course the art (one of the main pillars of this work), the best thing you can do is to read the manga.
Spoiler wise Skull knight is very hinted to be a previous figure like guts who was sacrificed in an eclipse, by void(brain guy) but escaped and has been seeking revenge for centuries, he is likely not a human anymore however unlike guts or casca to have such longevity. He pretty much acts as guide now and then to guts in order for him to deal with the supernatural enemies.
@@DenverSenpai No fault of you own, the anime has less than the panels of the manga, some events like the king of midland sending assassins and depraved murderous criminals after their escape with griffith aren't shown.
The golden age arc memorial edition it takes the 3 movies stretched to 13 episodes and includes scenes not in the movies. It's closest to the manga as you can get from an anime version of berserk
@@bin1340 Yeah, but even though the anime approaches Miura's art style better, it cuts too many parts. That's why I prefer to watch the movies/Memorial Edition despite the horrible CGI. It seems more complete and has better storytelling.
If you read the manga(which you should) don't skip on the Golden Age arc which is covered in the anime, some important events are skipped and some Skull Knight's appearances. The Black Swordsman arc(what you know as the first episode in the anime) has some big events(and another main character skipped in the series) and during the Golden Age arc(what you know as the rest of the series 2-25 episodes) something big happened during Guts childhood that shaped his character. Also much later on after they rescue Griffith there is a completely left out big event with an incredibly cool fight. The rest of the Golden Age is pretty much the same as in the anime but you should still read it due to those events I mentioned. Also keep in mind the manga is very mature, uncensored, you'll see crazy stuff.
Yea, the manga will fill in the blanks if they decide to read it. As for the fight rescuing Griffith, personally I'm actually glad that was left out of the films and anime because while cool, it gives a bit too much of a heads up about what's going to happen in my opinion. I like the Apostles and supernatural side being kept subtle until the big event. The events much later against Ganishka are amazing though.
@@Renikade Well I agree, leaving it out made for a bigger shock when the Eclipse happened. We kinda "forgot" about Zodd previously and the first episode, got lulled into the success of the Band of The Hawk and then s4it hit the fan.
@@GatsuKS Yea, definitely. It allowed the events of the eclipse to hit like a truck and felt like it came out of nowhere, despite the subtle warnings along the way.
4:32 Not all of the Band of the Hawk went to save Griffith, some of them stayed behind and Rickert was with them so basically he wasn’t there and therefore he wasn’t chosen as a sacrifice
lol someone recommended you a version with weird editing, like putting 1997's OST into the movie. Oh well, it's still good and gave you context for how Guts escaped.
Thanks for reacting to this guys, and in the English dub this time around too, haha. The films look really nice on the whole, but sadly don't have the character development to the level of the 97 anime. I see them as a good companion piece to the original series, but on their own they sadly lack the atmosphere and strong feelings the 96 series evokes. As for Rickert, you're exactly right Alex. Skull Knight basically tells the Apostles/Demons who attacked the Hawk camp that it's not their time and they should leave. So not wanting conflict yet, they decide to go, leaving Rickert briefly under Skull Knights protection. As for Skull Knight? He's awesome, and we've only just recently had confirmation of what I suspected for a very long time about who he really is and why he is the way he is. The manga is excellent, but I'm really glad you put this out as a reaction. When I first watched the 97 series, I was like wtf? Why end it on such a cliffhanger, so it's really nice somebody edited the final key moments of the third film into an episode 26. Really well done. As for Zodd, he's a really interesting character. He lives for the fight and just loves a challenge, so knowing the fate awaiting Guts, Casca and the Band of the Hawk, he pretty much saw it as an unfitting end for anyone, but more importantly it didn't excite him. With how they'd all end up dying, they were like cattle being lead to the slaughter, so it wasn't of interest to him to take part in their festival of flesh. I think he also roots for the underdog when in a position to observe, and having a degree of respect for Guts after their original encounter, that's pretty much why he threw Guts his sword that time. He may not be a good person/monster, but Zodd still has some weird sense of honour which occasionally comes out. Anyway, I'm really glad you liked this episode! It's a much better point to close the series off and answers more than the final episode of the 97 series ever did. I laughed at the Armin comment, Sabina, and still need to finish AoT myself, but take care guys and thanks for the shout-out. ♥️
I’d recommend watching TheAlmightyLoli’s RUclips video on the Berserk manga. He goes through the entire thing over like 30 hours of content, shows everything, explains everything, it’s by far the most comprehensive and well done berserk video out there 👍

You should react to the Trailer for Berserk The Black Swordsman. Its a fanmade anime that will be releasing next year and it covers the "Black Swordsman" Arc which is the first Arc in the manga but takes place after the Golden Age arc, which is what is seen in this series.
watch the 2016-2017 anime, i know its not popular within the fandom because of the animation style but it has a lot of great scenes and its honestly not that bad.
I still say you should watch the 3 Golden Age movies. The Skull Knight said he was the foe of the inhumans. Sure, he seems to act against the God Hand and their Apostles. However, half the time he is actively helping Griffith's plans.
There are anime series that continiue golden age arc. Most of fans hate them. But they are not that bad. They have own style, also intro is cool. If you dont want to read manga you can watch them. As i know nobody hasn't do reaction on them. May be you should
If you like that animation style, just go ahead and watch the movies (in Japanese, of course). You can have some longer reaction vids, or break them up into parts. You get a little more skull knight and some other stuff, too.
Everyone who got sacrificed will go to hell for eternity. They show it in the manga. If you get involved with demons and they kill you, your soul goes to hell. In these scenes from the manga, Skull Knight says "I am a foe of the Inhumans. That is all I will say for now" So for sure the story is hinting he is not so good. He is only helping Guts because he hates the demons.
We tried first couple episodes, but the animation style they did seemed a bit unfitting for the show, hopefully one day some studio will make a nice adaptation :)
