إِذا كُنتَ في حاجَةٍ مُرسِلاً
فَأَرسِل حَكيماً وَلا توصِهِ
وَإِن ناصِحٌ مِنكَ يَوماً دَنا
فَلا تَنأَ عَنهُ وَلا تُقصِهِ
وَإِن بابُ أَمرٍ عَلَيكَ اِلتَوى
فَشاوِر لَبيباً وَلا تَعصِهِ
وَذو الحَقِّ لا تَنتَقِص حَقَّهُ
فَإِنَّ القَطيعَةَ في نَقصِهِ
وَلا تَذكُرِ الدَهرَ في مَجلِسٍ
حَديثاً إِذا أَنتَ لَم تُحصِهِ
وَنُصَّ الحَديثَ إِلى أَهلِهِ
فَإِنَّ الوَثيقَةَ في نَصِّهِ

Who is telling the poem?
The translation made me understand why Arabic is so unique. Only a native or an extremely fluent speaker can truly feel the meanings of the wordrs
What it's making me realize is the fact that a people that produced this found themselves silenced by the Quran.

The translation is accurate but sooo abstract , if you know fusha you'd know how detailed the poem with so little words

I was stucked with the idea that "arabic is the nost beautiful language". I asked myself why? I searched arabic poetry not only that I found a nice rhytm and voice, but the meaning of his words were just so real...
when it comes to literature in general, Arabs might lag behind some other culture like in sci fictions and novels, however, when it comes to poetry they are the top. mainly because poetry was the only medium for settling disputes, passing history and traditions. Poetry to Arabs was like movies to the American and Manga to the Japanese and whomever exceled at it ran the show.

The translation is probably the best that it could be but knowing Arabic, you can understand the full essence of the beautiful poem that he crafted. People need to listen to this at least once in their life.

A longer translation explaining some things would be cool. Know that every language has elements that are lost in translation. Especially with languages as old as Arabic!

The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) ( Salla Allah Alayhi Wasalam) ( صلي الله عليه وسلم) said: 'Whoever recites Ayat al-Kursi immediately after each prescribed prayer, there will be nothing standing between him and entering Paradise except death.
This hadith, which mentions the virtue of reciting Ayat al-Kursi after every obligatory prayer, is considered Hasan (good) by some scholars. It is found in sources such as Sunan an-Nasa'i and has been authenticated by scholars like Imam Ibn Hibban and Sheikh Al-Albani

This "translation" is not a translation, it has only written the concepts without revealing the deepness of the native words, it showed the wisdom in the poem but not the literature, I know it would be hard or even impossible to reveal that deepness in English, but it could have been much better.

brothers & sisters pray for me , InshaAllah i am going to learn Arabic to the very depth level. For so that, I can understand Quran and beauty of Arabic, by which prophet (pbuh) spoke and most scholars wrote their work in this majestic and magnificent language.

The Bahraini Poet. Died young. Killed at the age of 26, before Islam. His poem was the reason. Prophet Muhammad Peace And Prayer Of Allah knew one of his poems in particular and recited it.

لا مانضحك بل هو واقع فالشعر العربي يعتمد على البلاغة والتركيب واللحن وكذلك الصور فإذا قمت بترجمته للغة اخرى فإن القصيدة تفقد كل شيء وحتى المعنى يصل بصورة بدائية كأنك تكتب نثر
لذلك الشاعر العربي تميزه البلاغة والقافية والمعنى فالقصيدة عبارة عن لحن مقفى والامتحان يكون للتركيب وموهبة الشاعر في الإيجاز والبلاغة فعندما تقوم بترجمتها فكل هذا يضيع بدون شك

﴿١١٦﴾ وَإِذْ قَالَ اللَّهُ يَا عِيسَى ابْنَ مَرْيَمَ أَأَنْتَ قُلْتَ لِلنَّاسِ اتَّخِذُونِي وَأُمِّيَ إِلَٰهَيْنِ مِنْ دُونِ اللَّهِ ۖ قَالَ سُبْحَانَكَ مَا يَكُونُ لِي أَنْ أَقُولَ مَا لَيْسَ لِي بِحَقٍّ ۚ إِنْ كُنْتُ قُلْتُهُ فَقَدْ عَلِمْتَهُ ۚ تَعْلَمُ مَا فِي نَفْسِي وَلَا أَعْلَمُ مَا فِي نَفْسِكَ ۚ إِنَّكَ أَنْتَ عَلَّامُ الْغُيُوبِ
116. And Allah will say, “O Jesus, son of Mary! Did you say to the people, ‘Take me and my mother as gods apart from Allah?’” He will say, “Glory be to You! It is not for me to say what I have no right to. Had I said it, You would have known it. You know what is within me, and I do not know what is within You. It is you who are the Knower of the hidden.
﴿١١٧﴾ مَا قُلْتُ لَهُمْ إِلَّا مَا أَمَرْتَنِي بِهِ أَنِ اعْبُدُوا اللَّهَ رَبِّي وَرَبَّكُمْ ۚ وَكُنْتُ عَلَيْهِمْ شَهِيدًا مَا دُمْتُ فِيهِمْ ۖ فَلَمَّا تَوَفَّيْتَنِي كُنْتَ أَنْتَ الرَّقِيبَ عَلَيْهِمْ ۚ وَأَنْتَ عَلَىٰ كُلِّ شَيْءٍ شَهِيدٌ
117. I only told them what You commanded me: ‘Worship Allah-my Lord and your Lord.’ And I was a witness over them, as long as I was among them. But when You took me back, You were the Watcher over them-You are Witness over all things.
﴿١١٨﴾ إِنْ تُعَذِّبْهُمْ فَإِنَّهُمْ عِبَادُكَ ۖ وَإِنْ تَغْفِرْ لَهُمْ فَإِنَّكَ أَنْتَ الْعَزِيزُ الْحَكِيمُ
118. If You punish them, they are Your servants; but if You forgive them: it is you who are the Mighty and Wise.”
﴿١١٩﴾ قَالَ اللَّهُ هَٰذَا يَوْمُ يَنْفَعُ الصَّادِقِينَ صِدْقُهُمْ ۚ لَهُمْ جَنَّاتٌ تَجْرِي مِنْ تَحْتِهَا الْأَنْهَارُ خَالِدِينَ فِيهَا أَبَدًا ۚ رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهُمْ وَرَضُوا عَنْهُ ۚ ذَٰلِكَ الْفَوْزُ الْعَظِيمُ
119. Allah will say, “This is a Day when the truthful will benefit from their truthfulness.” For them are Gardens under which rivers flow, where they will remain forever. Allah is pleased with them, and they are pleased with Him. That is the supreme attainment.
﴿١٢٠﴾ لِلَّهِ مُلْكُ السَّمَاوَاتِ وَالْأَرْضِ وَمَا فِيهِنَّ ۚ وَهُوَ عَلَىٰ كُلِّ شَيْءٍ قَدِيرٌ
120. To Allah belongs the sovereignty of the heavens and the earth and everything in them, and He is capable of everything.
Still didn’t get the exact meaning of the Arabic one🦦Arabic meaning of this is much deeper than the translation here

The problem is the English is lacking , it can't be translated fully as it uses a single word that mean multiple meaning and it depends on the culture also its not weird as arabic words are alot imagine the lion has 300 different names and the sword has also around 300 thats how rich it is and each name has a different description and meaning @@Ray-of-Hope720

شعر لغات العالم عند ترجمته تسقط هيبته ويرك معناه، الا العربية اذا ترجمت بقت درر المعاني والحكم اكتبها بأي الحروف والألسنة شئت.
اتفق وبشدة اللغة العربية لغة رائعة ولها هيبتها بمعانيها الرائعة
بالعكس ضاع كل شي بالترجمة
الشعر العربي قوته ليست فقط بمعانية بل بالوزن والقوافي والتشبيهات

@@abdulrahmanxe5099 أبي شاعر كان يقول ان الوزن والقافية كلٌ يقدر عليها، ولكن الشاعر هو من يجيد سبك المعاني، وهذه ماهي (غريبة على العرب) فنحن أهل بيان وحكمة وكذلك أهل وزن ونظم، وكثير ترجم الى الانجليزية مثل شعر بهاء الدين زهير، ولكن العكس هو المضحك، لما تترجم شعر الأجنبي ويفقد جرسه في لغتهم تتضحك المعاني ركيكية ومتكلفة تكلف بعيد
I have a better translation that keep the wording and beauty to the arabic line that been translated to " i've lived far to long so far ":
لبست الليالي فأفنينني

While i agree with the fact that the translation in the video could use some work, i don't think what you came up with is any better.
I see where you're coming from trying to match the arabic word لبست from the root word لبس with the word "wore", which i have to say doesn't even make sense in English itself, "i wore the nights"!?, but aside from that, the main issue with this is that the arabic word here isn't referring to the verb "to wear" at all! لبست here can mean one of two things, either I've "ignored" or i've been subject to the passage of time, i quote: لَبِسْتُ عَلَى ذَلِكَ أُذُنِي: تَصَامَمْتُ وَلَمْ أَتَعَلَّمْ
لَبِسَ قومًا: تَملَّى بهم دهرًا
I am not sure, but I think "لبست" here is releated "to wear", because he then says وَسَربَلَني الدَهرُ في قُمصِه and "قمص" means a shirt or something you can wear as a top@@orangecaprinun
may be. i would argue however, that this is actually word play (paronomasia) on the poets part. meaning he's actually making use of the multiple meanings of the word (لبست) by utilizing the idea of wearing or putting clothes on just in the next bar, while the initial one is still about "enduring or living through" many nights. @@RuthlesslyDeliberate
It doesn't end at the point of just learning Arabic word by word, don't think so little of us arabs😏, what you have learned is just a drop in a very big an broad and deep sea😊.

Additionally, the seven hangers are poetic texts. people at the time thought were so great and divine they hanged them on the Kabbaa. This was how amazing they were to those who spoke traditional Arabic and are very well versed in poetry.

@@AhmetHabsaلأن ياخذون التفسير الميسر له، يعني لما يترجمون القرآن ما يجوز أخذ الترجمة الحرفية له لذلك يترجمون التفسير الميسر ، جرب أقرأ التفسير لكل آية مثلا هيك رح تفهم أكثر . مع التعويد وكذا يصير له لذة اكثر سبحان الله .

@@Luvunini صحيح حتى ان كثير من المعنى قد يفقد أثناء الترجمه
فعلا لان الشعر يغلب عليه التعبير وليس الكلام الحرفي فلا تستطيع ان تترجمه حرفيا لكن صاحب المقطع حاول انا انتبهت على بيت (ولا تذكر الدهر في مجلسا) ترجمها بالتعبير وليس حرفيا لتكون مفهومة

The thing here it's pretty hard to translate Arabic to English cause about how much English lacks alot of things that Arabic has
