Some doctors, after they diagnose you, will research or already know what wholistic treatments can help you. They keep it pretty quiet that they are licensed to do that too. Some are daring enough to display it with their other credentials. They are few. I made a discovery reading what they specialized in by reading their qualifications under their respective names. She did well by me. Have not seen a doctor since.

Couldn't agree with you more! This why I'm trying so hard to change my entire lifestyle. I've been going through cancer for the last 8 1/2 years & I've read so much about how we can heal ourselves with the things God has already provided, we just have to learn how to use them. I'm on SO many medications because that's what Dr's do, throw pills at the problem, not really FIX the problem. I'd rather take my chances with God's medicine❤

I usually look at at least 5 online sources and several books that I have or the library has before I make something. I often pause a video to do a quick research on a topic. I've had pork belly in the freezer for quite some time, wanting to make bacon but not waste it or worse die. Two weeks ago, I finally got off my duff, researched how to do it on my grill and made the best bacon. I've tested the waters with making different vinegars and about a month ago I made a dandelion vinegar. Your videos are a treasure seeing it done, but are a wonderful starting point. Thanks.

Agree completely regarding pressure cooker when canning. I have a huge fear of them, but finally faced that fear when I had to begin sterilizing things, which is all I have it for, for now. My grandmother always did her water bath canning outside on a big homemade fire pit with a huge basin that we used to rinse clothes in (had a wringer washer system). This was done outside to keep the house from getting so miserable hot all day when it was time to can everything from her 5 acres. One year, she was talked into buying a pressure cooker, (this was in the late 70s). That was the year she blew a hole into the ceiling from the pressure cooker exploding. I was in the kitchen preparing jars, I was 9. Can't describe how bad that scared me. All my life, even if I heard one of those things going in someone's house, I left. Took me a very long times, 55 years to be exact, to finally beat that. I still do not like them, very nervous to point of anxiety attack lol, am extremely careful. Agree also with people needing to take responsibility. Seems more and more want to save time and when things don't work it is someone else's fault. This also includes religions. People don't want to take the time to be in God's word, will take someone else's word/tradition (I did the very same things for years), people need to seek God while He can still be found. Thank you, Heidi, for all that you do carding and sharing, Helen

If the gov uses our tax money to study something, like natural remedies, they have to publish the information. Sometimes they contradict each other, but there's enough out there for us to make an informed decision. You can still find a few videos of 'granny women' telling how to use different herbs and their information is just as good as anyone's.

I always listen, take what I can grow and started there. Then I expand to herbs I have to buy, and buy a small amount to start with. I am reminded of the verse that he gives us every herb bearing seed which will be food and medicine for you. (loosely translated) My Mom’s only sibling, my Aunt Anne got lymphoma back in the 1960’s, and a mother to 4 young children. After going through chemo, she started searching at health food stores, it was way before internet. She got rid of white sugar, changed her entire diet. She researched and read everything she could on cancer, herbs, and building her immune system. She wasn’t supposed to live more than a couple of years, but she lived 12 more years and passed in 1979 at only 36 years old. She was my second Mom.

Thanks Heidi, you are always a great source as a jump off point or trigger, if you will. I love listening and then diving in more on the info. A great one for me...was on the linen sheets, I had them on "my bucket list" but never thought about the benefits they might bring. I have ordered my second set as we like them so much. I have listened to other videos and read research about linen and it has been a wonderful experience learning more. So something I figured was a luxury, and a "someday" thing, is my reality now. Thank you for the knowledge you share.

💥 so good! I love to learn and I always learn from a variety of sources. And then I just go with my gut from what I've picked up and make my decision. When I was pregnant with my children, I would always call my dad who was a general practitioner/anesthesiologist… He practiced medicine the old-fashioned way, he was born in 1923. I would call my husband's uncle who was in OBGYN and I would call my own OB/GYN. I would ask all of them the same question and get different answers from all of them and then I would choose what I felt was best for me. I loved this message that you gave so so good. I will be sharing this with lots of people!

In my family, my mom is the one who constantly asks me what she should take for this and that symptom. And this is despite the fact that she used natural herbal remedies with me and my brothers when I was young lol. She thinks she doesn't have time, or she thinks I'm an expert and maybe she's too lazy to look through the over a dozen (at least) books on natural remedies. It's very annoying at the least, not to mention all the other reasons you listed (aging factors, allergies, diet, etc), and let alone the fact that it doesn't matter how old you get, hearing about your parents bodily discharges just isn't fun lol. (And this is coming from someone who thinks pus-filled wounds are interesting, I loved dissection in middle school, I think it's very interesting to harvest my rabbits and chickens and see how their organs are different from human organs lol). Around the time you opened the submissions for the home canning collaboration, I actually got pretty dang annoyed with my mother and so MY canning contribution (the 4 or so jars on the lawn) was very literally a Cure-All for my mother 🤣. It was from wild herbs I foraged plus a few spices and local honey, but it was literally so I could point my mom to the cupboard or fridge and say "drink that" in hopes she'd stop telling me what her body was doing. 😂 And it kind of worked for awhile, except she went above and beyond and just chugged it like a kid with juice instead of taking it in doses, so now I have to make more.
So I completely understand why you persist in urging people to do their own research lol. I'm never annoyed by your reminders of it, I think it's good for us to be reminded that our knowledge is in our own hands (because it is all too easy to be lazy and rely on someone else, even for little stuff).

Maybe it's human nature to seek advice from people you know and trust. I'm a nurse and i cant tell you how many folks knocked on my door or called me for medical advice. Legally, I couldnt do that. Ethically, i wouldnt give you a diagnosis and treatment protocol. However, i would make suggestions with a huge disclaimer and encourage them to seek another more expert opinion.
Like you, i go to multiple places to find what I need. I do use medical sites but always keep in mind their bias (to discourage your use of alternative medicine). But same goes for "alternative" health care sites. So discernment plays into this.
A few comments on using medicinal plants to treat a specific medical condition. God didnt make us clones of each other. So what works for one person doesnt necessarily work for another. That's why God gave us so many diverse plants that have similar properties. You need to find the match God made that works for you.
Secondly. Allergic reactions occur sometimes when you combine 2 or more things, and you will only react when you take them in combination. So folks really do need to take it low and slow. But also do it one herb at a time and slowly combine them one at a time. Its a process, and doesnt yield immediate results and I fear too many dont have the patience to do it right.

One thing I'm scared to try is fermentation. I have the supplies, I've watched videos, and bought books. I'm worried about the mold.

Thanks for telling me to “Grow up!”, Heidi. I needed to hear it. Seriously, I’ve learned so much from you, but I need to be admonished from time to time.

We all have our areas where we can feel intimidated, good grief I though I would never get over my fear of using a pressure canner or making soap! haha

The fact that you even have to have this video is amazing to me the people take such Liberty at other people's research and don't do their own it just befuddles me

Have you ever tried adding English Lavender to your soap. I have tried English Lavender soap with mixed thoughts on it.

Yes, they have been punishing me for several months now be preventing nearly 50% of my followers from seeing my content. Still putting in the same amount of work plus more but because of what they are doing, I am only making half the amount off my videos as I was
