Yeah, and there were multiple episodes where Grady moved in to 'look after' Lamont because Fred had gone back to St Louis supposedly...the actor Redd Foxx was conducting a strike due to money issues, he came back eventually
A guy from their past had come by and claimed Lamont was really his son. Eventually in the episode in a first Fred and Esther teamed up to defend the late Elizabeth's honor. In a touching scene Lamont learns everything and tells the dude whatever happened was between him and his Ma and he had nothing to do with but Fred was his pops. In the end it turned out the old dude in the dark went to the wrong bedroom back and in the day and he actually slept with Esther 🤣
The Halloween costume Fred gave Esther; The plastic cling wrap. He said "hold it up to your face" She said " its just a plain piece of plastic" He said " no, its your Halloween costume". 🤣🤣🤣
I grew up in an area where there were no black people when I was a kid. Watching this show and the Jeffersons, Good Time's and others there were African American people in our living room that made us laugh and sometimes cry. By the time I was a teenager I asked to leave an almost all white Catholic high school as I had some many friends from all over the world. I went to what was a majority minority public high school in 1987. Made some great friends and learned what a great nation America is. There are still some things we need to work on for sure to make that "perfect union" the founders wrote about. All I can say is I am so glad we had people like Redd Foxx and Richard Pryor that made us laugh and root for them.
Funny I don't remember Lamont wearing denim that much. I remember him wearing a flowered shirt, and some other jackets sometimes. I wore denim a lot back then.
The guy in the magician outfit is Fred's best friend Grady Wilson, he also had a short-lived spin off TV show from Sandford and son called Grady. In this episode, Grady is trying to free Fred and Eshter from the Chinese trick wrist locks that he'd sent off for in the mail. He was testing the trick on them, but he couldn't reopen the locks after locking them together. Because the instructions to open the Chinese wrist locks were in Chinese. Grady is just as funny and just as insulting as Fred is, especially when it comes to insulting Esther. Grady actually carried the show for a while in Fred's absences (Redd Foxx "Fred " had quit the show at one time but later rejoined the show again) check out the episode with Grady called Lamont Goes Karate S 2, E17.
The Guy in the magician outfit is Fred's Best Friend "Grady". He was a major character on the Show & When the Actor Redd Foxx who plays Fred took a leave of absence from the Show for almost a Whole Season. They fix the Storyline for Grady to stay at Fred's House to look after Lamont and the Junkyard. Grady got into the same wisecracks and comebacks With Aunt Esther just like Fred 😂 They even tried to give Grady a spinoff Show.
And they didn't let him finish that line. Fred: "You're three ugly witches. And you turned your husbands into frogs." Also Norma Lear was the creator of both "All in the Family" and "Sanford and Son".
Love Aunt Esther lol. Watched this show when I was a kid. Another great feud was on the Jeffersons (Louise "Weezy" vs Mother Jefferson). The lady who played Esther was actually a friend of Red Foxx and he got her cast on the show.
Norman Lear, creator of All in the Family, created this show also. You should check out the show Maude. It's a spinoff of All in the Family where instead of the lead character being bigoted and conservative she is a staunch liberal. That has some good comedy. Another Norman Lear classic is Good Times. It is set in the projects, ghetto, of Chicago and it is about a black family keeping it together while trying to make ends meet. All are good comedy with an occasional dose of powerful episodes.
You should watch a whole episode because it's full of nuances and you get to see the kind side of Fred as well. It just gives better context to these short clips.
I grew up right outside of Oakland, California in the 1970s. I didn’t think of it as a TV show, rather more like the 5 O’clock news telling me what was going on down the street.
One of Fred's dead wife's neighborhood friends shows up saying he is lamonts real father. Fred bring Esther in to see if she ever knew if Elizabeth ever fooled around with other guys.
Fred Comically playing the Bulge was, Fred acting like Louis Armstrong. A Trumpet has 3 Valves to get different notes. Both Shows, “Sanford and Son,” and “All In The Family” were created by Norman Lear. But they were assigned different Writers. The Show was set in Los Angeles, in the Watts Community.
By the way, the son didn't always wear denim...The show was on for 6 years and he wore different outfits, but he did wear denim more than the other outfits.
True story. I got a crush on this woman. Good Lord she's drop dead gorgeous and her over disposition welcoming, affable, and nonthreatening. That is all
The actor who plays Paul McCartney's grandfather in A Hard Day's Night also played Senior. Steptoe on British TV. That's why they keep saying he's very clean, sort of an inside joke so that viewers would not think its the same character.
Sandford and Son, All in the Family, Maude, Jeffersons, etc was all produced and created by the same person - 17:40 that's Shady Grady, Fred's friend...
Actually the uncle Woody that you've seen most often was the one who was recast he remained throughout the run of the show and the spin-off Sanford Arms
Red Foxx (Fred) was one of the most successful stand up comedians of all times. He was staple in Las Vegas and the late night panel shows. He had 50 comedy albums. You should react to some of his stand up routines.
There is an episode (I cannot remember which one) where Fred tells Esther if she bothered reading that Bible she carries around, she would behave differently.
I wonder if you're aware of the man who could be anointed 'KING OF THE PDC'? His name is Tom Jones. He came to popularity in the late 60s, & I believe he still performs today. With his rich baritone, his range & sensuous delivery, & his undeniable good looks, it's a documented FACT that, at his concerts, women would frequently throw their panties UP ON THE STAGE as he performed. Perhaps his best-loved ballad is "I'LL NEVER FALL IN LOVE AGAIN', & of course it's here on YT. You really own it to yourself to give it a look, but be forewarned; you'll need a fan, a towel to absorb the perspiration, & tissues to dry your tears- I promise YOU'LL THANK ME for the tip!! I can't wait to see your reaction! Enjoy!
Back To The Funny Comedy Series Did you know that Red Foxx and Lawanda Page were very close friends before Sanford & Son?? She was a showgirl dancer and Red married one of her college. Upon finding out the producers wasn't feeling her audition, Red stepped and said he wouldn't do the show without her.✌️❤️
As a white Texas guy I grew up with watching this show. It still never gets old. The best!
The Magician was Fred's good friend Grady. he was a re-occuring character and they even tried to make a spinoff with him.
Yeah, and there were multiple episodes where Grady moved in to 'look after' Lamont because Fred had gone back to St Louis supposedly...the actor Redd Foxx was conducting a strike due to money issues, he came back eventually
Good goobly goup!
All in the Family, Maude, The Jeffersons, One Day at a Time, Good Times and Sanford & Son were all made by the late great Norman Lear
Those were the shows. And those were the days!!!!
Except for Maude, I watched them all growing up. My parents thought I was too young to watch Maude. X)
The best insult was when Fred said to Esther: "Why don't you go stick your face in the cookie dough and make some gorilla cookies!"
My favorite joke was when Fred told Esther that she looks like the part of the Polaroid picture that you tear off. 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
The Halloween costume Fred gave Esther; The plastic cling wrap. He said "hold it up to your face" She said " its just a plain piece of plastic" He said " no, its your Halloween costume". 🤣🤣🤣

Flip Wilson was good.
@@hubertharmon He was but never really got into racial issues.
"Those were the Days"
Denim on denim was very popular during that time period, if you watch the shows from that period it is everywhere lol
And remember. the Sanfords are junk dealers. Denim was appropriate for the lifestyle.
Wow!!
I owned an all-denim dress back then. Loved it! Denim was all the rage. X)
Funny I don't remember Lamont wearing denim that much. I remember him wearing a flowered shirt, and some other jackets sometimes. I wore denim a lot back then.
It's the 70s, we all.wore denim on denim back then.
Fred was doing a bad impression of Louis Armstrong with the trumpet.
My little brother can imitate Red Foxx perfectly, his antics also.
So so funny! 😂
The guy in the magician outfit is Fred's best friend Grady Wilson, he also had a short-lived spin off TV show from Sandford and son called Grady. the one wit Donna and the engagement party, Lamont set it up so they wouldn't get married cuz he was hating on donna😂
The Guy in the magician outfit is Fred's Best Friend "Grady". Denim on denim was popular in the 1970's. There were denim shirts, jackets pants, vests, etc.
Its still a very popular look with Jay Leno.
Yes he does really walks like that
Up here in Canada we call denim on denim, the Canadian tuxedo.
She called it that, too.
I never worried who won or lost; I just enjoyed watching those two bicker. :)
This a rabbit hole you need to continue down. I don't know how many seasons this lasted but there's so many funny encounters with those two.
Some pretty good encounters between Fred and Rollo, too.
We can't forget Ah Chew and Julio as well. Such a classic.
Sanford and Son lasted for 6 Seasons from 1972 through 1977. The Aunt Esther character debut during season 2.
Them two where best friends in real life. Fred Sanford (Red Fox ) and Aunt Ester (Lawanda Page), Love your videos Brit
This show and Happy Days were my favorite as a little kid. I'm old. I love your reaction to this and your Norm reaction. Cheers.
You were just introduced to Fred's friend Grady in the last round.
Denim on Denim was the style for casual wearing in the 70's. I wore a lot of denim on denim
Norman Lear, creator of All in the Family, created this show also. You should check out the show Maude. It's a spinoff of All in the Family where instead of the lead character being bigoted and conservative she is a staunch liberal. That has some good comedy. Another Norman Lear classic is Good Times. @BrittReacts You should do individual full episodes they're a 1000% More funnier and you won't be in the dark about things.
Grady and Fred are hysterical together ! You must react to some clips w them ! Thanks for this. Great American entertainment - Redd Fox such a talent
Best show EVER!
That’s Grady. He is a prominent character in the series.
Ol shady Grady!
fun fact: the actress who plays Donna is sisters with the actress who plays Aunt Esther
They are not related
please just start at the first Episode and watch all them in order you will love this show it one great of all time
You should watch a whole episode because it's full of nuances and you get to see the kind side of Fred as well. It just gives better context to these short clips.
Introducing Grady, a very funny character himself. They made. A spin-off was made with him as the main character when Fred moved on
Thanks Britt. I enjoy your reacts every day.
I'm so glad!
Coka Cola Polar Bear! 😂😂
That’s Grady, you haven’t seen Fred’s friend Bubba yet
Denim was ubiquitous in the 70s.
Fred always won he was not just the trash collector he was a master trash talker.
Fred vs Esther relationship was outright hysterical.what I always looked forward to the most as a kid.
That concept situation was also used in a episode of tv series Three’s Company ( where Jack and Chrissy are handcuffed together)
This episode was about an old friend of Fred who said that he was Lamont's real father
I think Fred won he always wins. Keep doing these reactions.
They both won. Classics.
I grew up right outside of Oakland, California in the 1970s. I didn’t think of it as a TV show, rather more like the 5 O’clock news telling me what was going on down the street.
If I remember right, some man showed up and told Fred that Lamont was his son not Fred's.
Grady, in musician outfit, was Fred's best friend.
The Gorilla Cookies bit would be a good one to react to.
Not the Coca Cola polar bear 😂😂😂
The trumpet thing is coz Fred loves Louie Armstrong. Why he's doin his voice like that too.
Fred (Redd Foxx) was in the movie Harlem Knights
Please show the full show this is the Best one ever
The other Woodrow was the first Woodrow. The one that loves to drink was the recast Woody.
I have always heard that big hands usually mean....
Big gloves.
😅
I don’t think Woodrow was ever recast. But at the same time he played Ned the Wino on Good Times
I had step brothers and one looked Irish and the other looked Mexican/Hawaiian. They had the same parents.
redd foxx would enjoy you reacting to this show
You need to watch some of Redd Foxx's standup!
I’ll check it out!
the episode MAMA'S BABY PAPPAS MAYBE is the funniest 1 by far.
denim on denim = Canadian Tuxedo
One of Fred's dead wife's neighborhood friends shows up saying he is lamonts real father. Fred bring Esther in to see if she ever knew if Elizabeth ever fooled around with other guys.
Fred Comically playing the Bulge was, Fred acting like Louis Armstrong. A Trumpet has 3 Valves to get different notes. The guy in the last round was one of Fred's best friends, Grady.
Fred’s best line to Esther was you can push your face into dough and make gorilla cookies
Have you seen Fred's Heart attach gags yet? When he calls to Elizabeth?
Yes they did recast Woodrow...They replaced the actor that was drinking with the one you saw first when she hit Fred.
By the way, the son didn't always wear denim...The show was on for 6 years and he wore different outfits, but he did wear denim more than the other outfits.
Genetics work crazy. I know from my experience. I love Fred.
The Woody in the engagement party episode was the original, it was his only episode.
True story. I got a crush on this woman. Good Lord she's drop dead gorgeous and her over disposition welcoming, affable, and nonthreatening. That is all
The Big Money Griff episode!
Sanford and Son was based on a British sitcom called "Step Toe and Son"
The actor who plays Paul McCartney's grandfather in A Hard Day's Night also played Senior. Steptoe on British TV. That's why they keep saying he's very clean, sort of an inside joke so that viewers would not think its the same character.
DNA is the only test.
Sandford and Son, All in the Family, Maude, Jeffersons, etc was all produced and created by the same person
- 17:40 that's Shady Grady, Fred's friend...
Actually the uncle Woody that you've seen most often was the one who was recast he remained throughout the run of the show and the spin-off Sanford Arms
You might enjoy the episode Mama's Baby Papa's Maybe it's a funny one. Fred and Esther actually are on the same page for a bit to squash the rumor
A funny clip to react to is Sanford and Sons Gorilla Cookies. And Lemont is not wearing his Canadian Tuxedo.
Red Foxx (Fred) was one of the most successful stand up comedians of all times. He was staple in Las Vegas and the late night panel shows.
He had 50 comedy albums. You should react to some of his stand up routines.
Britt, you have nice hands.
The actress that plays Donna is actually Esther sister in real life
The magician is Grady, I think he's Fred's cousin , but he could just be his buddy , not sure.
Hey Britt.. there's HILARIOUS more to that seen of Mamas Baby Daddy's maybe that your not catching.. watch that scene a little further.. 😂
Fred did say once that Lamont had his mother’s skin.
Archie Bunker, then Fred Sanford. Mr. Al Bundy simply must be next :D
There is an episode (I cannot remember which one) where Fred tells Esther if she bothered reading that Bible she carries around, she would behave differently.
Who wins? Britt, we both know the woman always wins 😆
They didn't actually get married
Please. Please. Listen to the theme song for Sanford and Son. Gotta be a GOAT.
Hopefully you will play some "Married eith Children" Denim girl! Hopefully.
I wonder if you're aware of the man who could be anointed 'KING OF THE PDC'? His name is Tom Jones. He came to popularity in the late 60s, & I believe he still performs today. Good reaction, see if you can find the best of Grady, he was La Mint's stepfather, a funny man in his own right😂
Mama's baby Poppas maybe was one of the best episodes, if not the best.....Big money grip!!
The guy as a magician is wittman mayo as Grady
Back To The Funny Comedy Series
Did you know that Red Foxx and Lawanda Page were very close friends before Sanford & Son?? She was a showgirl dancer and Red married one of her college. Upon finding out the producers wasn't feeling her audition, Red stepped and said he wouldn't do the show without her.✌️❤️
Esther and Donna were sisters for real
You need to find videos with Officer 'hoppy’ Hopkins from Sanford & Son. Also, look for standup acts of Redd Fox
In this episode Fred hadn't married Donna yet. Actually he never married Donna.
You need to react to Fred Sanford savage moment from the Sanford and son sbow
I didn't know Maxcine Watters was on this show.
Yes same episode
