Im noticing a pattern here. A lot of people are analysing Blake's legal docs down to the last punctuation mark but quoting Justin's only in generalisations. And thats why they're missing all the glaring contradictions.
Like they're looking for "gotchas" and "ahas" in blakes because they already decides not to believe her no matter what, but not closely analysing Justin's because they've already decided they believe him already and will continue to regardless of evidence.

His case makes zero sense at a very basic level. You have to ignore everything known about cell, extractions, court transcripts, and how emoji’s work, and then also somehow think Steph jones carefully hired an attorney to seize the phone, specifically to establish a legal chain of custody as an officer of the court, AND THEN just randomly committed about 50 felonies to answer subpoenas and file lawsuits with forged documents.
And then, you gotta also think the emoji somehow ‘magically’ reverses the meaning of all his texts, and yet still somehow exactly matches all his texts, nines the emoji the didn’t need to take out anyway because they are just normally not there. AND THEN somehow, again ‘magically’ those ‘reversed’ texts now just ‘appear’ to perfectly corroborate her totally fake allegations that never happened, and she set all of this up months in advance to save her reputation that hadn’t even tanked yet.
And they’re like ‘she lied about the time of day!! She said there was no music recorded and there was totally audio!

“If she didn’t react with visible and immediate disgust” YES. Because if you don’t bring it up so carefully and professionally and perfectly and you have to seem so good-humored and cool so that your co-workers and bosses don’t hate you for ruining everyone’s day with a sexual harassment claim. Oh wait, they do that no matter HOW you bring it up, no matter how you react. You can’t be perfect enough. Cool and quiet means you wanted it, if other people think it looked cute then you’re not allowed to complain, and if Blake had shrieked and yelled STOP then there would be a totally different backlash about how unprofessional she is.

People are so eager to say that the line, “I’m not even attracted to you” must mean that Lively was rejected and vindictive. But that’s the response of every street harasser I’ve ever turned down. So often I have told a man ‘no’ and he has retorted that I’m unattractive and he didn’t like me anyway. The public’s reaction to this is absurd. You are the only voice I see not dog-piling Blake Lively with glee. Sometimes people hide this under sentiments of “eat the rich” and I don’t believe that having millions of dollars of personal wealth is ethical, but why bring that out when Lively reports harassment? Especially with the plutocracy in power right now. It’s misogyny and people are DELIGHTING in it

and I'm just shocked, do people really not know that biting someone without consent is a crime? "she pulled him in" yeah, she pulled him in for a kiss. Does he get to grope her because she pulled him in? the only way that bite was NOT a crime, is if he's got a signed consent form and a IC as a witness.
      so where's that form?
I dunno why she didn't file a police report, but god I hope the CRD actually investigates & forwards it to the AG for an actual SA and racketeering trial.

I’m not in the industry so I have no idea if that’s true. But, if it IS true, then it doesn’t surprise me that Lively would demand that an intimacy coordinator be on set all the time- he’s crossing boundaries and initiating more physical contact even during relatively “chaste” scenes.

@@hayhobbitful it depends on the production. I know there were productions that used ICs for everything. They aren’t industry standard as of right now. So Justin was more or less free to do whatever in regards of an IC. But instead of just saying he just booked an IC for preproduction, he’s going a smear campaign to cover up the fact that there were no protections on set! If she had complaints about Justin, she’d have no one to turn to. And she ended up having to escalate the issue to Sony. Both parties agree on this! lol. But folks want to act like Blake was this crazed liar. Justin literally hired a crisis manager because of this, and used it to smear her name! His own messages showcase this!! An IC should be present on set through all intimacy scenes. This scene was never supposed to be intimate, so no IC on set… which says that the intimacy JB is doing is unscripted, improvised and was not consented to. It doesn’t matter how she is acting during this scene (she’s acting in character). It’s frustrating to see this narrative all the time. Every person knows or knows someone who has had intimacy forced upon them how it feels and how women especially deflect, laugh etc. to get through that uncomfortable situation.

Intimacy covers more than just s*x and kissing.
Romantically dancing with your partner (which is what's happening with the characters in this scene) is intimate.

Men need to do better: once you know what to look for, Lively's discomfort, nervous laughs, and attempts to de-escalate through deflecting are extremely obvious! 😱 🤯
Part of the problem is that for decades, men have been socially trained to see these soft rejections (often used when a woman feels unsafe to say no directly) as being "coy" or "hard to get." Watch any Hollywood blockbusters marketed towards (young) men from the '10s or prior. Women being coerced - and often just flat-out graped! - is sickeningly framed as a steamy romantic conquest. The toxic "rationale" was that women play hard to get but secretly want whatever the guy wants too. (Hello, entitled male main character syndrome!) The producers, directors, and other men in positions of power of those hit films were steeped in grape culture and telling on themselves. They hid in plain sight (as Baldoni seems to have done) and indoctrinated the next generation into viewing abuse with "getting the girl." 🤮
Thanks for breaking down the footage that men like Baldoni use as "evidence." Unpacking grape culture means we are educating and keeping safe not only women, but men. (Once you go beyond the archaic and woefully insufficient "no means no" to understand the basics of FRIES consent vs coercion and power dynamics, fears of being falsely accused plummet to near zero.) It also means that predators can no longer gaslight and get away with playing the weaponized incompetence "but I didn't know I thought she was into it" card which adds further insult and injury to their victims. 👏 (The Narcissist's Prayer on full display is especially vile in Baldoni's case, as he centered his career around being a "male ally" so there is literally no excuse to pretend he didn't know these basics of consent and safe workplace conduct.)

I have little regard for Hoover as a author and I doubt she used all markers of the romantic genre (accomplished man, hyper competent, emotionally distant except for her, anger and control frames as passion and desire, etc) as a solid deconstruction. ( Seriously the other male lead fights for her in a classic two men fighting to possess a woman but he's the good one. Also sll her books still use those tropes). But undoubtedly all his red and pink flags are called into question by the narrative when physical abuse starts happening. Baldoni knows all this. He knows his character is manipulating and escalating intimacy and is doing so without his co -star on board. People keep forgetting this is a movie scene with a script, Lively isn't reacting to verbal and non-verbal consent seeking she's trying to do her job, nail the scene and stay in character. Baldoni is the director he can make it her job that her character does x or y and if she contests this the project is in jeopardy or she gets maligned as we are seeing now. It's very frustrating

And Amber Heard too had very solid proof of being physically abused from early on in their relationship. But that gets ignored because he had better lawyers in one court case and she comes across as unlikable. As well as all the proof of him having violent outbursts from time to time and all the misogynist stuff in writing and lying about how his finger got injured. It seems many people believe some women deserve to be abused.

I agree with you, however when this is a stress reaction to getting sexually harassed and trying to say "I'm not attracted to you, can you stop it already?!" and is in distress, then putting attention on that aspect is just fuelling sexism.
Tell me, if a person gets up into another person's face and they are startled and react with pushing them away (that's what she's verbally doing) do you also go and tell people "hey, don't push away people randomly in everyday settings though alright?"
That's what you're doing. You are dissecting the DEFENSE REACTION of a startled uncomfortable survivor of abuse who's backed in a corner significantly more than you are dissecting the boundary crossing CHOICES the her abuser who is IN CONTROL of each next step.
She's navigating in a fight, light, freeze response while being FULLY AWARE that her surrounding is full of sexists like you, who'll be more concerned with defending abusers or theoretical people who may get hurt by reactions like her, over her who's experiencing abuse.
It's sick. You are paft of the problem. Sort it out. Bringing upabise is not safe with people like you around. You can discuss how appropriate or inappropriate her reaction to her abuse was AFTER you have held her abuser accountable. Get the damn order right. And next time you are in a fire or traffic accident or are getting robbed you also better be at your textbook behaviour 🤦🏻‍♀️

Wait, she wasn't denied an intimacy coordinator. She was offered one but she refused to meet up with the intimacy coordinator ahead of shooting. There are text messages out there confirming this. And there's two intimacy coordinators credited in this film and they would be only present for sex and nudity scenes as according to industry standards. Just pointing that out.
I do wonder why the clip shown doesn't start from the beginning of the conversation and seems to have been clipped off? Because Lively does suggest talking is more romantic first before the clip you featured started. Then Baldoni jumps in to say what he said about looking into each other's eyes like him and his wife. I suggest people search up the full clip and watch it for yourself and make your own judgment.
To be clear, I'm not taking sides, but I feel like people need to be objective and not twist the truth to whatever ideology they may have, even if I hold the same ideology, because that's not helpful either to the situation or to their ideological cause. Personally I think people are too quick to take sides and do not understand why people don't try to remain objective and wait for all the information to come out. By prematurely taking sides for one or the other to me tarnishes someone's credibility and takes away from the legitimate and needed conversation on such important topics, because it gives fuel to one side to write you off. And for someone who wants to observe this objectively as well as feel like patriarchy is an issue in society but it doesn't mean it applies to all specific cases, I feel gaslit by those taking sides due to their own biases instead of taking a step back and looking at it objectively waiting for more evidence to come out.
Anyways to be fair, he did say some questionable things like that exchange like commenting how she smelled good. But while his version of events is close but doesn't 100% lineup with his written complaints, similarly Lively's complaints also doesn't line up either. The truth imo is somewhere in the middle and I can see how two people can misconstrue events from their point of view. It just makes me sad that people so easily take sides and turn this into an ideological battle rather taking a step back and letting the dust settle first.

  • @mikochild2

Having an intimacy coordinator and the other requests she made also would have protected him. When their is power imbalance, people are often afraid to speak. The coordinator could have made sure she is comfortable and that he didn't get sued. Women are often accused of over reacting so we minimize our responses. We lean back to avoid the contact and laugh things off. Then get accused of being ok with it because we were silent. But get gas lighted and told we should be ok with it when we are direct. If she is uncomfortable, she is uncomfortable. Trying ro convince her it isn't uncomfortable doesn't alleviate her concerns, it just makes her feel like she has no recourse. Why do these people have to find ways of getting what they want instead of accepting your no? It is not ok. It is still forcing someone if you use other forms of pressure other than physical violence.

    • @koolpebble

You can look at this from so many angles. If you look at it from a sexual harassment angle as she claimed in her lawsuit, there is none in this footage. If you look at it from a director's perspective, it appears she's trying to direct him when it's well-known that he's the director. He's trying to get a scene done and she keeps talking off character. It's unprofessional and he's trying his best to tactfully and respectfully get her to follow his directions (HE'S THE DIRECTOR.) This is not a lawsuit about uncomfortableness. If that was a thing I'd sue a lot of people for making me feel uncomfortable.

    • @mikochild2
      @mikochild2 7 дней назад +6

@koolpebble it is sexual harassment if she was being touched in a way that made her uncomfortable without forewarning and was denied the things she requested to make her feel more comfortable. She wanted it to stop and it did not. This video shows exactly what she claimed it did and not what he claimed it did.
Your discomfort is enough to sue if you did your due diligence to ask them to stop or seek other reasonable solutions that just got declined. I'm sorry that you believe that someone else's desires must always come before your comfort or discomfort in how someone treats you. I watched that video and heard from people on both sides and their interpretation. I can see what both sides are saying. However, I need to know just one thing: was this sort of touching choreographed and consented to ahead of time through an intimacy coordinator? Because if it was not, it is sexual harassment. General consent is not the same as specific consent. Just because Blake Lively took on that role does not mean she has consented to any specific sort of touching. Yes, I find her to be an insecure person who is often rude to people. I think that pattern of behavior is established. It does not make it okay for someone to sexually harass her. The fact that she did have power made it so she could even address the situation and try to change it. Many other women are not so lucky.

What “pattern of behavior” are you talking about? What evidence do you have of that? Because the one piece “evidence” I have seen is ONE interview.
Also, whether she is rude has no bearing on whether she was harassed. It’s not contextual to keep bringing it up.
I honestly don’t think there’s a “both sides” interpretation here. It all supports her.

@manderly33 I have seen and heard much more than one interview. You, of course, don't have to believe or agree with me. I was only saying it was an established pattern of behavior in MY mind. The reason I brought it up is because people on the other side of the argument keep bringing it up as a reason for why she shouldn't be believed or why Baldoni may be acting that way. I was merely saying that even if I agree that Blake Lively has been rude, it doesn't excuse Baldoni's behavior.
And the fact that people CAN interpret the video differently shows that there is more than one possible interpretation.

It clearly wasn't. I feel like the near kisses were at first - but it all very clearly fell apart after he did the neck kiss. It's so clear to me that wasn't arranged. After that she started talking more, pulling away more, grimacing more etc.
But also, there was no intimacy coordinator on set. That was his job the arrange and it would have protected him as much as her... though they wouldn't have let him get away with this, so there's probably a reason why he didn't want one there.
And yes. While I don't find blake lively a particularly likeable person, and acknowledge she is potentially also someone who may have also played a role in making a h0stile work environment for others in the past -- I appreciate that in this case she is using her power in a way that will protect others from him.

Um, perhaps you don't understand because you don't know what goes into to acting out a silent montage scene. 1st, everyone has a script. That script describes what is supposed to be going on. What people are in the room and what the feeling of the scene will be. The scene is a silent montage so talking sh*t often happens. 2nd, the scene called for them to be dancing, falling in love and being in their own world. The scene did not require a scene coordinator because there was no sex or nudity. There are descriptions online to give you what their job entails. You seem to miss every part of the beginning of the rebuttal. For example, the nose. She does reference his nose 1st. Saying "Its so nosey" "its like all noses". If I didn't know better, Id say you are gaslighting everyone that has ears and can see. What she said in her papers does not match what we see and hear.

He asks he for a shot with their lips close. THAT is how it’s supposed to work. And then he just drags his lips down her neck sniffing her without saying a damn thing about if that’s ok or how she’s supposed to prepare or react to it.

@Metonymy1979 did you miss the part where he's actively doing intimate things like kissing her that is *not* included in the script *they* provided? Yes, dancing involves physical contact. But dancing does not involve kissing or nuzzling her neck. And if he wanted those things included, he could have told her. She improvised affection through means like laughter, cute dancing choreo like spinning, and talking. He improvised affection by finding different ways to put his lips on her. I think we need to stop acting like we can't understand why that would be uncomfortable for her, especially if there wasn't discussion about it beforehand.

@yundorphin Can you point to where I can read the script that says what you are saying? I can appreciate that you probably have never directed people in a movie. I have. Acting is not the same as working in an office. From what I've read, they were "falling in love". Have you ever been in love? Or filmed a scene of 2 people falling in love? I'm not sure if you understand what silent scenes are required so that the audience is not confused about what's happening in the scene, but the scene was for them to portray not merely dating but falling deeply in love. Talking and dancing does not denote that emotion. And, from what I have read, the script did say touching, hugging , light kissing and dancing was expressed.

She kept insisting that they should just keep talking throughout the whole scene. She’s coming across nervous and resistant to what is fairly minor for physical closeness, if compared to s3x scenes.
If she was a woman in an office setting being harassed by her manager, yeah, this would be exactly what you describe. But she’s meant to be doing an intimate no-audio dance montage from what she marketed as a Rom Com! Why wouldn’t some small near-kisses or nuzzling be considered harassment??
This is so awkward. I’ve seen videos of actual DV survivors saying her response is gaslighting people into thinking this was some kind of boundary crossing, but your channel is fully with her, not even for a second recognizing how her husband was weirdly very involved, he threatened Baldoni & forced him to apologize, etc. m
In this scene, she’s refusing to follow most of his instructions & actually forcing her own direction on him. The director. Sure she’s giggling while doing it half the time, I know giggling is sometimes a way to passify nervousness. But given her task here. She’s just coming across awkward, or kinda bad at her job.
I’m also super confused by your repeated statements about Wayfairer denying the protection of an intimacy coordinator. It was Blake Lively who chose to opt out of using the IC!!! 😫 what is happening, please read the documents. She also said HERSELF in a red carpet interview, same one as the one where she admitted Ryan re-wrote the roof scene during the writers’ strike 😑 that she chose to be her own IC, but admitted this was not usual or normal.
She said it in the interview while giggling, she didn’t look like anyone was preventing her from accessing one. She turned it down from the start. Maybe she asked for them afterwards, I don’t recall. But just like she took over the wardrobe, she also took over the intimacy work.
Not saying Baldoni is perfect, I believe he made errors too, but h this video isn’t what you’re describing, I’m sorry. If I didn’t hear her rebuttal, I’d have little idea what you’re talking about. But you’re echoing it, so I get it.
I’ve also been harassed in the workplace before, so I hate that I can’t see what you see, except her awkwardness, which I’m reading as insecurity or a woman who can’t act/lacks chemistry with her lead? but I was a server in a restaurant, my job was not to look cozy & in love with my coworker for pay. And here we clearly see the issue this caused, because she wasn't sure where the line between acting and real life was, and that made her very uncomfortable. He keeps trying to kiss her on the mouth, she laughs awkwardly and leans away.
None of this touching and kissing is in the script, hence the lack of an intimacy coordinator being present.
He went too far without a referee (IC) being present and without getting prior consent. Add to this the fact that he is her BOSS here, and the situation becomes an even larger abuse of power.
She is holding him at arms length with her hands. Laughing uncomfortably. Leaning away when he leans in. Deflecting his comments and trying to redirect his attention. She looks stiff and uncomfortable.
Did she need to run away screaming 😱 or sucker punch him to get the point across?
His defense seems to be, "Well she didn't run away screaming so it must have been fine." As if fawn response and freeze response aren't real things...
His second defense is, "Well I'm not attracted to her." As if such a claim can ever be proven/disproven as these are his private thoughts and feelings. And as if men don't insult and put down women all the time after being rejected.
He never should have crossed these lines. It was not in the script. It was not previously discussed or agreed upon. And, as the scene was not supposed to be sexual, there was no intimacy coordinator present to enforce boundaries. Baldoni was wrong. End of story

Blake was not uncomfortable enough since she asked for kisses instead of almost kisses he was giving. Also she didn't want the intimacy coordinator just like she didn't want the stylist/wardrobe. She took over everything.
Now, tables may turn and I stand to be corrected but so far everything looks like she's the villain of the story who felt romantically rejected and is out for revenge.
Also Blake could clearly object and suggest things like she suggested talking because apparently it never happens with hubby who stares like a sociopath to paraphrase her own words
and she also commented on bumpy noses and suggested him getting a nose surgery as a joke.
What i believe her discomfort to stem from is definitely internal not external, feelings can create external discomfort if they are forbidden.

Blake refused to see them after Justin asked her to do so. Because she was trying to take over the role of director, whatever Baldoni suggested she always countered
Something we see in this video too.
She wants kisses, he wants almost kisses, He wants silence giving example of how he and his wife do it while dancing and how her and Ryan would do it.
To which she objects and says ,Ryan wouldn't, because he would stare like a sociopath.
      Then she proceeds to talk.
Also: needless to remind that Blake didn't read the book. The dancing scene is actually a quiet dancing scene, which she also ruined.
Blake is in a tough spot for trying to play competent director and actress, only to scream offense at things that she would have considered normal had she done her job, or even attempted to do the job she usurped properly.
If she directed the movie and actress Blake has issues then director Blake needs to be held accountable too.

I'm not trying to jump on you, but women are socialized from birth to be accommodating, to not make a scene. Speaking up, forcefully, in a professional setting, you can be labeled as "difficult", or being a diva. Believe me, I know. There were dozens of people there, all trying to do their job, and even if she had stopped filming to call him out, he isn't just another actor on set/her peer, he was the director. There is a power imbalance. If he fired her, for not putting up with his behavior, that damages her professional reputation.
There is also the mental gymnastics one goes through. Where is the line? "He nuzzled and sniffed my neck, it wasn't scripted, but it's not like he groped me." What often happens is the line is constantly being pushed a little further, by an abuser. Mildly inappropriate comments, then more direct comments. Uncomfortable looks become more direct intimate staring/ogling. Touches that seem innocuous at first, become more brazen and intentional.
Now imagine all these calculations going on in her head, while trying to do her job, while her boss is taking advantage, in a room full of people (who are all relying on filming to continue, so they keep getting paid).
