Same with Red and Shining, despite both being some of the most op fighters in the game. And I will never stop fighting for a projekt red alter. I can kind of skip out on the shining alter, but it would be cool to have a guard who can heal other units lol.
Surtr is massively popular, and because of that an event dedicated to her will definitely happen. However because she’s so popular I fear Surtr lore has become a “break glass in case of emergency” situation for Arknights. As in HG won’t make a Surtr event unless the game starts losing players.
It basically reveals more things about her sword and Spoilers It being a Feranmut shard, a wholeass Feranmut, or Surtr itself a Feranmut that implanted itself on the blade and assumed a Sarkaz form for *reasons.* (first two more likely).

She did finally have some lore to her in one of the more recent IS4 monthly, where it was revealed that: Surtr is actually a mighty Feranmut who once lost to Sami's guardian Feranmut and became fragmented, possessed a little Sarkaz girl ("Surtr"), and used her as a means to locate his missing pieces to be whole and rise again. More of a setup for a future event than anything, but it's something.
So if I'm getting this right, The Surtr we know is a puppet being used by the actual "Surtr" who is a faranmut, and they are trying to reform themself like the second brother of the Sui siblings?
Sort of yes but also no since our surtr is still technically her own person but due to the fernmaut influence that’s where the amnesia kicks in. I think everyone will be very satisfied when is4 comes out and we come back to this video like ayo finally

If her amnesia was caused by Surtr (Fernmaut), then Surtr (the girl) could leave the sword in Sami and regain her memories, bur she *did not do that* Moreover, the girl mentally overpowered Surtr's control over her (mind you this is an *INSANE feat* as it took Lappland 3 months to be on par with Zarro) and yet she did not regain her memories thereafter. So IMO her memory loss is caused by something entirely different.

Surtr the Feranmut is probably just Laevateinn. You know, the giant sword demon thing that sometimes appears in her base animations and always in her s3 because that thing is sentient and strong, but doesn't resemble any other race in Terra.
The only Surtr I know besides the operator in Arknights is Surtr from MCU in Thor: Ragnarok (2017). Her lore may be on the next IS5 or limited banner event about Norse mythology.
IS5 should be about undeground since cannot mention 3 threats: from deep sea (IS3), from north tundra( IS4) and last the underground which we still have zero idea what live under terraland

The sword has some kind of parasitic relationship with the wielder. Maybe the memories she remembers are the jumbled memories of past wielders of the sword dunno hahaha.

A personal theory of mine is that the reason why she has memories of past relationships is because she had a similar “Elder” status and Hol’Heyak has and just forgot about it. If not the same thing then probably something similar, her fire giant seems to be pretty important and fits the bill for what could have been roaming the lands of Terra pre civilization age when gods and monsters still roamed the earth.

Since 2020 she has remained the upper ceiling of physical damage, the unconditional delete button, the true damage despite not being true damage, the D15 slayer, the fastest Patriot killer, the only 6* to be picked by every contestant in Mizuki Cup's top 4, and the heralder of Sniperknights. Other than that though, I support your ideas and I hope HG gives Surtr more lore (and pays you royalties).
I was thinking of this actually the other day. But then it doesn't really suit the style of Arknights events. They wouldn't do another story event for her when one already exists. The only way it could work is if she appears as a side character in some other story.

Ok, but if we're talking about operators with little amounts of lore despite being crazy op (or at least hinted at being crazy op), Projekt Red and Shining are pretty fucking up there (just like how hypergryph is fucking up by not giving them events). Projekt Red is one of the fastest characters canonically, but we really dont get much lore about her despite her archives hypong her up to be insanely strong. Il Sirscusano basically soft confirms that she is a Fang of the lupei, she can indefinitely walk on walls (for some reason), and she is basically "undetectable." If she gets an alter, I want red to be a musha, a class known for high aspd and can heal themselves but not by others (insert joke about red being a lone wolf). On the other hand, we have gotten confirmation that shining is pretty strong. We are also aware that her arts arent actually healing and she's actually a swordswoman. Thus, she should be a guard who is meant to be tanky or perhaps even a guard who can heal other operators, which would be weird but why not lol.

Dude, it is obvious that she was added to the game not as lore fodder, like Sideroca, and they have ambisious plans for Surtr. The only way we will not see it, is if arknights will become unsustainable and the developer will close the game, before we get there.
Surtr ain’t even the only operator who is both popular but lacks the lore. Just look at Myrtle, 2 themes and skins and constantly the top 1 in just about everything. Could never be out-power-crept by other operators (in terms of DP printing), while also changing the very way Arknights was handled. And yet she’s got not even a single side story or even a single scene in any cutscene whatsoever. Heck, her bio even states that besides breaking Durin stereotypes cause of Durin the operator, her most interesting thing about her was her apple. Nothing else. Her bio isn’t mysterious like Cuora or Surtr with the chance to grow into something big cause of their amnesia, or even some unfinished story like the Nian siblings or Siege, she is literally just a normal ass Durin girl holding an apple that seemingly breaks the laws of physics. By all accounts, this mf literally does not have any lore besides the usual life in Rhodes Island. What’s even funnier is that she’s been out since year one compared to Surtr. Not part of the original cast but still part of the year one release nonetheless.

I agree, but that's due to HG releasing 3 Ops every several months. We have 300 Operators right now, and like 10% of them is developed. The main problem is, however, that all of that could be solved if they didn't give some characters preferential treatment ch'en appears in literally every event there was a time where AH Operators were getting OP records non-stop for almost half a year kal'tsit alone appears in 11 Operator records A lot of NPCs have way more lore than Operators, etc. . .
Litterally 90% of the arknights cast has no proper lore at all lmfao Thats one of my biggest gripes about the game Characters are either thrown randomly or appear in events for a single bit before leaving
