I have two HJC helmets: an i40 for riding around the countryside and an i30 for longer routes. Both are amazing, well-made, comfortable, and provide excellent visibility. Moreover, it is very affordable. The only drawback: the price of the lenses - they cost 2/3 as much as the entire helmet.
@@nikkoataylar6486 I rode the entire season in the i40 and it performed well in all conditions, but on routes at higher speeds there was a bit too much wind in it. That's why I also bought the i30 - it's quieter and more comfortable. Unfortunately, it is also larger and gives a slightly smaller field of view. It's impossible to choose a better one, both are very good, although slightly different. i40 is more urban, in i30 the emphasis has shifted to travel properties. If you have to choose, decide what is more important to you.
Glasses fitment is highly subjective and is dependent on the riders head / glasses shape. That said open face helmets can typically be pulled by the chin straps for easy entry with or without glasses.
I have a black version of this helmet that i got for riding my escooter and ebike. I wanted a face shield because when i ride my eyes water like crazy so i thought a face shield would solve that problem and it did but unfortunately it fogs up so much that i can't see so its useless.
I'd recommend installing a pinlock lens, these do wonders to help mitigate against fogging. The i30 should already have a pinlock ready shield, so you'll just need to buy the lens. Hope this helps!
Good eye Dwight! You are correct. Studio hardware courtesy of the legend himself. We've also got his leather in the corner. Will show in future videos.
@@SpeedAddictsTV Very cool! Used to watch him race (and usually win of course) the Ascot Raceway TT course back when I was a teenager living in Gardena CA. (and btw, thanks for such a speedy reply here)
I don't recommend fg jet. It's heavy and the vent on the top of helmet makes terrible wind noise. I sold fg jet after use several times. I30 is more comfortable than fg jet when wearing it. But i don't know about the wind noise of i30 i only wore it but didn't ride with it.
Hey Ariel, the i30 doesn't have much to reduce wind noise as your chin is out in the elements, we'd recommend a full face with a beefy neckroll to block noise from coming up into the helmet.
Amazed. In this day and age the cheek pads are not emergency cheek pads. There's a little bit of the reason why this helmet is cheap. I've NEVER owned a 3/4 helmet that fogs up. NEVER.

Which is better overall the i40 or the i30

Hey, you mentioned it was an intermediate oval, but Cycle Gear and RevZilla lists it as a round oval.
We've tried on the helmet ourselves and it is an intermediate oval.
Normally i use M size but in hjc rpha70 Large is better. Do you know if the size of i30 is similar with rpha70?
I've heard the i30 runs a little small.
Hello, can you compare this with LS2 Infinity II? Been torn between these two great helmets. Thank you!
Would recommend the Infinity II.
@@SpeedAddictsTVsadly, it’s hard to find Infinity II right now here in the Philippines.
Hi !
This kind if helmet (jet) get foggy?
I mean the air flows under the excrem avoiding foggy!! Is not it?
It depends on the weather conditions.
how does it feel if you're wearing glasses when putting it on? Can you just stretch it over or do you need to take the glasses off? Thanks!

Wow. I just got this and love your review. Thanks a bunch
Excellent info about this helmet. Thanks for the great video.
Thanks for watching!

Do you have a review of the HJC i40 helmet? Please do one .Love the channel.
Thanks for the recommendation. Sorry to say the HJC i40 is not available in the USA so we're not able to help you out there. Thanks for watching!
Would that be a Skip Van Leeuwen number plate and trophy behind you up on the wall?

what about the fg jet ? How does it compare to the i30
Sorry, we never reviewed the FG-Jet and it's out of production in the USA.

Can change this helmet buckle to double D become D-Ring? Thank you so much
Unfortunately, you cannot switch to Double D-Ring. If you did, you would also void the warranty.

How to put them back?
Hey Maleus - We'd like to help, but don't understand you question. How to put what back?
I purchased one and unfortunately had to return it. I did not find it comfortable and the front shield is too close to my nose/face for my liking.
That's a bummer. Hopefully you found a better alternative.
