What a great performance! I’ve been listening to the new Dream Theater album for a couple of weeks and at times I can’t always figure out what the drums are doings, but watching you play them makes so much more sense. Thanks for the video!!
Disclaimer as always: The portnoy-ish stuff is for a video.. I am not playing like him in the bands I play in outside of this youtube channel. The fact that the drums are set up that way and I play like him is fine. But outside of this stuff I play in completely different-styled bands.

I have never seen someone copy Portnoy so exactly, I mean from the way he holds the sticks, to playing the cymbals and that left china hits, some of his mannerisms also. The only thing missing is stick twirl.

6:30 I knew that you would play it like Portnoy does, the moment I heard the song for the first time and I imagined how you would play it..
To me it sounds pretty similar to the original studio version played by Mangini. I can hear hardly any differences.
