I have that wallpaper & love it! It was less than $ .40 per sqft home depot about a year ago. Google " Textured wallpaper Grahm Brown small squares" it should come up. I would add a link but sometimes those comments get marked as spam.

Not gonna lie. My heart totally sank when you spray painted that mid century magazine rack but that wallpaper is gorgeous 😍 I covered my drawer fronts with a similar one

The roll of textured wallpaper is for ceilings. You can leave it as is or paint with metallic paint to make it look like the old fashion copper or tin ceilings that were popular in Victorian times.
Rhonda Flesher it's common in the U.K., especially in period properties. As you suggest, it's used on ceilings and also below dado rails to imitate a product called lyncrusta, a highly embossed (and hideously expensive) wall and ceiling covering itself originally designed to imitate expensive tiles and plasterwork.

No wallpaper on the ceilings it is a pain to deal with. Anaglyphtic wallpaper goes on on walls.

No way, love the thrifted lamp, it looks so much better in white with the white shade.
Couple tips for spray painting:
Do it in long light strokes instead of focusing one spot
Give it 2 or 3 layers
Finish it with a layer or two of clear coat, applied the same way
HGTV should be calling you two for your own show. Perfect combination of talent, knowledge and fun!

I love the footstool, however, I would have stained the center as well, but that's just my opinion. It still looks great the way it is. The other one are fabulous.
Also burnishing the edges of the pleather would've really elevated it :)
Such a wonderful piece now, but agree the top corner edges should have been stained as well.

It all looks great, but I would have left the handle on the magazine rack. It would have looked much better in black, and it was functional!

Yup, that rope just didn’t fit it. It was a weird addition. If they hated the ridges they could have just sanded it flat then painted it black.

The stool is FANTASTIC!!!
Another option would be to leave the original woven material on for strength. Then cut a solid/one piece of faux leather and just upholster right over the top. That would create a more modern option depending on someone's personal style. Or even a faux hide or fur if you want a glam look. Soooooo many options for that stool!
Also, I wanted that brass/glass table!!!! I was seeing it with the top off and a pot sitting in the middle as a plant stand! It would be similar to the copper pipe one McKenna made. 👍

It’s great to see how a used item can be transformed to something even better with minimal work. I would have drilled holes in the magazine rack so that you could have made a knot at the ends and have an actual handle.

I love that lamp and I want to find a similar one and spray the shade the darkest metallic gold I could find and sand some of the edges for a rough barnyard finish omg I’m drilling over that 🤤

That white wallpaper is paintable wallpaper. Ive done it in silver like a tin panel
When you fold your sandpaper, fold it so there are 3 layers, no more, no less. That will keep it from sliding around when you hold it

Just what I thought they should do
Great idea! Except make sure the leather is cleaned, conditioned, protected and then applied. When leather gets old and has not been taken care of it tends to be over wrinkled (dehydrated) and will break or even worse get even more warped. After it’s been cleaned and conditioned then allow the moisture to revive the leather before using as fabric.
My uncle used to shine his shoes religiously on Sundays and all my veteran friends have told me leather care and ironing your shirt in 30 secs is the most important deportment habit anyone can have.
Also I work in a men’s shoe and leather good store. The first step we learn about leather is care! Especially for good quality leather (European calf skin which is a little tougher, Italian supple not as resilient as over time unless properly taken care of, Brazilian/ Argentinian incredibly soft but resilient and holds its shape well). Indian leather is neither here or there but better than American leather. Any leather actually produced in China does not break in evenly much less lasts longer than 1.5 year w/repeated wear.
Since it’s belts they will have have a warp make sure they warp similarly as well as be similar kind of leather otherwise it might look tacky.

Alessia N If I was the person who made the ceramic lamp, I’d be sadder that it was dropped off at a thrift store than I would be that someone painted it. IMO 🤷🏻♀️
