With this tool I was able to fix my own half-flashed map with a complete one, from scratch. The car wouldn't start but MPPS recovered the bad flash. Very handy. The fail is on one of my other videos.

Howzit! It's always a good idea to avoid writing spreadsheets and adult films to your ecu.
@@vPerformance These videos were from 7 years ago - which software would you find most reliable for remapping vehicles - mostly Toyota d4d's and Mercedes ?
I'm afraid I don't have that much experience. I couldn't even tell you which ecu was in those. Nowadays I'm older and wiser and I just pay an expert to do my mapping

Yeah I've started doing those videos now, my two newest ones are more detail on the maps. There are more videos to come!
Just to make sure there's a minimum 12 volts in the battery. Sometimes a flash can fail because the voltage is unstable or too low.

So from where you get the remap files and is it only charger and mpps and laptop what you need does it work with pathfinder r51 2007 4wd and is there remap files for it?

I would appreciate if you could tell me where you download the VAGsuite from. I have been looking all over the internet but cant seem to find one. Also it would be great if you could do tutorials on editing the map ( AFR, ignition timing ect.)
You need the cable, the software for the cable, and some software to edit your map file once you have it copied off the ecu. If you have that you can remap it. I got an extra 19 horsepower out of my little 75bhp diesel - very noticeable :)
I don't supply modified files, you must be looking for someone else. I'm just a bloke with a cable from ebay.
Hi my Friend great video, i am a complete amateur, but can i use the smps unit you use to delete a dpf, your video didnt show how to change or manipulate the down loaded maps, thank you for ypur help. Jay
in case something went wrong can i just re-flash the old ECU backup or do i need to do something else?

its 1st video I've seen about the mpps ill be watching more ved can this tools be used for many other vehicles?
I use VAGSuite because it's good and its free. There are other options like Trionics or WinOls. They're tricky to use though. MPPS just does reads and writes but seems safer than the Galettos.

I learned to do them from scratch. You can buy files off ebay but you'd have to be nuts to flash one to your car! Some of the tune files available are boredering-on-dangerous! What kind of car have you got?
I can get the ECU ID but once I try to read it sometimes 'works' and it stops Midway and gives me an error. What do I do?

I have a polo too,does the fuel consumption increase after a remap?
I do this for a living, but on open ECU's provided by the OEM. We shove an extra 10deg on the ignition timing no problem. It does make it noisy though!
what kind of interfaces do you recommend for these kind of projects? Can I use an ELM327? Thanks!

ARTAUD Franck MPPS can normally recover a failed write, but play it safe!

hi mate, great vid. trying to do the same with my bmw 330ci at the moment using mpps. we have no trouble reading the ecu but when it comes to writing we click on "write" and then choose the remap file but nothing happens at all, its like the mpps is not opening the file. any ideas?
is the remap file always a .bin?

Just wondering if the s-mps will work on OBD1 systems?
I have a modified 1976 CJ7 jeep with a 258 4.2L engine and GM TH400 3speed auto..
I installed a GM TBI from a 4.3L 1987-1991 chevy vehicle and the ecm pn#1227747 and chip #ASKA .. Could you recommend where I can get a flashable chip for this mod? Or is the chip from my ECM re-burnable? Also, any recommendations on the burning adapter and all of the parts I need to reburn my car's brain?

By the way, my cj7 originally DIDN'T have a ecm... And the distributor controls my timing.. Hope to have my new ECM to control timing and fuel.. :)

So... If I got it right, you can edit your ECU map by using MPPS? or do you need an aditional software to do that. (in this case MPPS is just for reading/writing it down to the ECU). If so, what kind of software do you use?

He actually did that so the car batery maintain the 12 volt rate, if it goes lower than 10 volts the ecu memory chips will crash and you will lose your whole ecu

case one : you buy ecu from junkyard or get from another car with same type, same year, this ecu need reprogamming , ecu from another car will have different vin number

I have a 2004 ford focus 1.6 16v with a seimens ecu, is there a version of mpps that supports this vehicle or does anyone know where I can find the software to run it and maybe a tuning program please ?
When I use mpps v16 do I read whole ecu save it on mpps then if i want to turn off dpr egr I have volta 1.2 do i use the whole ecu file modify it with egr dpr off on volta 1.2 then save, then open mpps then apply the new ecu file back to the car ecu. Its the process from read ecu on mpps v16 creating a new file the to turn off egr dpf with volta 1.2 then flashing it back to the ecu on the car i dont fully understand. Is it the whole ecu file thats read in mpps v16 then modified on volta 1.2 then put back on the ecu. Car is PUG 407 1.6 HDI 110 bhp ECU EDC16C3

what software version of MPPS do you use v13.02 or v16? And what does "This program can be run 128 times before updating hardware" mean? What is going to happen after those 128 times of usage?
The message you are referring is about the software and nothing to do with the vehicle.

Let me see if i understand! First you press READ to get the original map of ecu, right? After that you change the original map in vag edc suite, or another program! And after you change'd the map press WRITE? Sorry for bad english! Please answer!
What if youre engine is not in the list? can you just copy it out of the Ecu?
