It was cut from the musical as it was felt the (current version) You Will Be Found sends out a better message to the audience and concludes Act 1 on a much more hopeful, uplifting note. You Will Be Found is about connecting to one another, and knowing that there are others out there, and you aren't alone like you might think. On the other hand, (while I adore Part Of Me) Part Of Me is about the characters, well, kinda using Connor's death to draw attention to themselves, by publicly "mourning" him. Part Of Me was written for when they were going with a more cynical route for the musical, so when the decision was made to change the show to be lighter, Part Of Me was then cut, though some of its themes were kept in and can be seen in You Will Be Found.
