To this day...of all the songs i've heard in my lifetime, there isn't one that evokes the sense of beauty within morbidity quite like this. Really a unique and powerful piece of music that i'll never tire from.
wow. i have finally found this song. it was stuck in my thoughts since i was 7. never thought finding it would bring tears to my eyes. i dont know why i remembered this all along... but "something" is telling me something... nostalgia.
First time I heard this song with lyrics other than the chorus was a life altering experience. The lyrics are so damn good, the last verse obviously the best.
I remember hearing this in 2005 when I was 15. It was my "stone" song. Me and my friend added it to the mixed CD we'd listen to when high. I miss High School, back in the days when the only things that mattered were drugs, friends, and having fun. If you're still in High School, don't waste it. These are the easiest days of your life. It only gets more complicated afterwards. Have fun.
Love this song so much. Jenkins taunts the audience at the end as he knows they’ll love the song despite the disturbing lyrics because of the soothing and catchy nature of it. Metaphor for pop culture and life
When people are asked what is your favourite song they usually take a brief second to think about it. My answer has always been Slow Motion by Third Eye Blind. I will always remember my friend singing this song, no matter how distant we have gotton over the many years over the many reasons, I shall always cherish the moments we shared everytime I hear this song.
I was addicted to heroin and cocaine (multiple times daily for 5 years) after I got clean and heard this song…. WOW…. It made me hurt in a beautiful way. It was like… every moment I spent using, losing my fiancé to suicide, back to being a young wife who never touched drugs and getting my nose smashed and getting knocked out. I can find the poetic beauty in that. I am glad to be here and be sober. I’m glad my attempts at suicide never worked. I wouldn’t have my daughter. I got sober before I met her dad, just FYI. Even the most beautiful roses grow from shit. I guess that’s a way to sum it up.
I’ll never forget being a teen when third eye blind came out! This is one of my all time fav albums. I didn’t even know panic covered this.... I don’t think anyone could song it more perfectly than Stephen Jenkins..... even though I love Brandon’s voice. Now I’m 41 so 20+ years later still one of the best albums ever! Hidden song
Def by far my favorite band...and I think the most underrated band of all time their non radio shit is amazing everything from this....to motorcycle drive by...god of wine.....wounded......faster.....bon fire....it never ends I love 3b!!!!
@ViankaAngel Coke refers to "cocaine." Its snorted in "lines" of powder. When he's talking about how it's "Cut with Drano," it means that the dealer mixed the cocaine with a "filler." Dealers often add baby powder or flour or, in this case, Drano to drugs so that they can make more money by selling a somewhat watered-down product.
It's a depressing song, and I am in love with it. I'm perfectly aware of it's actual meaning, and I'm not suicidal. But if I ever did, this is the song
Yep. Just lost another friend to heroin. Happens about three times a month now. This one was too close. We listen to TEB all the time when we were high. He was a Sargent in the marines. Idk how much more I can take. I've been clean seven years but drugs still effect my life every god damn day. I'm getting to the point of not even feeling anything now when friends od...
and utterly terrifying, ie, drug abuse, overdose, domestic violence, murder, etc. The line "Hollywood glamourized my wrath" isn't about being a celebrity, but rather the fascination and even idolizing of violence in American culture, specifically entertainment culture. It's a disturbing analysis of moral hazard (urban life decay) and at the same time an extremely optimistic song that says "even the most disturbing things are beautiful, ALL life is beautiful, even death, you exist, cherish it."
First time i heard this song, i was a super young child, maybe 5 or so, & i only remembered the part where he screams about shooting up.. & for *years*, even though i liked a bunch of different genres, this song was my favorite because it's so intense but calm (?) eventually, i searched up "junkie wino creep" & after literally years of trying to find this song, i found it... & i still love it been about 6 years since i found the song - only gets better with time

Personally I think that this song is not particularly about fame, or him as a celebrity, but rather about the dark underside of civilization. This underbelly is what most people sugarcoat and choose to forget, however it is the Truth of life and more appropriately "real" than our self propagated idyllic conceptions about the nature of our lives. He is aware of this, and has decided to shift his view from the negative to the beautiful aspects of these things that are superficially depressing...
Thanks man, for saying that. It really made me thinking. I'm 15 now, doing the same stuff you did when you were my age. I worry a lot about the future, but now I realize I should enjoy the life that I now live, or I will later regret that I didn't ''let go'' when life was still easy...
I bought this album when it first came out but, this song didn't have any lyrics except for the chorus. It was because this album came out very soon after the Columbine shooting.
The Lawn Gnome always wondered about that. Figured it was something to do with censorship in the us since they are a European band. But this makes more sense
Yeah, it's actually about drugs/violence and how hollywood spreads them. Really emotional if you think about it. It's overall just such a well-written song. So beautiful
its really a nice song guys!!. since i was in high school.. i remember when she gave me this copy.. and now every time i heard this song.. she always in my mind.. :) how she is right now?? xD

A “fucking” men. Miss those days
Yeah I hear that dude! I graduated in 99 and I miss that shit everyday.
On point
What an amazing band/album/last 4 songs, but ESPECIALLY this song. Beautifully/destructively haunting...
Still one of my favorite songs of all time. Criminally underrated.
I randomly heard this song for the first time while on LSD for the first time and it changed my entire view on life. Good song, good acid as well.
I'm sure it would lol
Love this song so much. Jenkins taunts the audience at the end as he knows they’ll love the song despite the disturbing lyrics because of the soothing and catchy nature of it. Metaphor for pop culture and life
best song ever. blood, drugs, self evident truths, and a beautifully harmonic chord progression. perfect.
the first time i heard about this song, it was panics cover and honestly this song gets me every time omg
Taylor Hutchings YASSSSSSSSSSSS OMG IK
Taylor Hutchings same
me too man
Me too
I went to listen to it and it doesnt seem as hurt as much this version. Third eye blind just sounds like being in pain
The best part of this song "And her nose starts to bleed..a most beautiful ruby red." ♥
It seems strange to see a heart after such heartbreaking lyrics.
That was always my favorite lyric too..for some reason it was so visual to me....I always wanted to do a music video to this song
Hit that nail on the head
@@cr1mssy491 would you elaborate on “see a heart” thanks sorry im slow motion ㏊㏊㏊
One of the best songs I've ever heard, rip my beautiful brother Marc❤️
this whole album slaps the fire out of anyone.
There are no words to describe how much I love this song! Beautiful in it's own way.
Thanks for showing me this jade!!!

First time hearin' it.
Brutally and beautifully honest.
This put me in such a..great mood. So calm.
the lyrics are pretty insane, i love this song : )
I always seem to come to hear it one more time....so many many years now
I love panic at the disco but you can't beat this
lexi piscitelli same I first heard Brendon sing this and I was like DANGGGH but then I heard this I was like "ohmygod this is sent from heaven"
lexi piscitelli do not disrespect this bad like that......
i liked blackbear's cover

Gahd damn, I found this song in like 2011-12 on a longboarding video. Never thought it would stick with me 10 years later
Of all bands, this band has a monopoly on emotional ties for me

This was my friends favorite song. He died OD. I listen to it almost every day. I get it.
maybe its just about seeing the beauty in everthing
Yes, this person gets it lol.
No, the hidden track was a coda of Red Summer Sun. This song is only available on A Collection, an instrumental version was on Blue.
so depressing and twisted. i love it. there truly is beauty in everything
thank you loaded for all these beautiful songs *.*
oooh , love it ! i have it from the longboarding video of kyle chin , too and i really really love it !
4:07 .....Repeat as needed and your welcome

The instrumental song with the red sun riff is dope too.
Feeling pretty nostolgic thanks to this song....

This song soaks into the darkest corners of my soul never known to anything else
This song reminds me why I'm so glad to be done with that lifestyle.
Proud of you. Stay strong, stranger!
Allison 👊👍❤
I was thinking the same thing. How I ever survived those years is beyond me..

so many say this is depressing. it isn't. it's just a beautiful song about terrible things.
It’s about the irony of glorifying the topics depicted in the song. Genius
T'was recommended by a good friend. Amazing song. Thanks good friend. xP
Still listening in 2020💕🥰
@Sceptorful
I love it when I see that intelligent people still exist. Thank you (:

European band? WTF are you talking about?? 3eb is an American band formed in San Francisco, California in 1993. They are not European at all.
The relation to longboarding is that this is the music to one of the top watched longboarding videos entitled 'Let go' :)
i love this song!!!!
Yeah, it's actually about drugs/violence and how hollywood spreads them. Really emotional if you think about it. It's overall just such a well-written song. So beautiful
I also had two different English teachers named Mrs. Jones. And a science teacher named Mrs. Jones. Lol
