    I made this pattern, came out great. Husband said I look like a genie, that I should add a costume gem to the forehead area. I told him to F off . I like my headband/ear warmer.

    I just finished mine but it is way too short to go around an adult sizes head! I used a 5.5 mm hook and size 4 yarn...It Feels Like Butta" and my band is only 18 1/2" long and 3 " tall. I cast on 67 chains and did 14 rows. I guess it might fit a baby. What went wrong?

    • @TheTurtleTrunk
      @TheTurtleTrunk  3 года назад +1

      Hi Lauren! Feels like Butta is on the thinner side of a medium weight yarn, so you may need to make your chain longer or go up a hook size or two to get the proper sizing. You can use the gauge pattern on the size chart to ensure proper size is reached! Hope that helps!

    • @mireyakearney9102
      @mireyakearney9102 3 года назад

      I did my headband with 67 stitches with a size I crochet hook with a total of 14 rows. My head measures 23 inches which according to the chart at the beginning of the video is an Adult Medium size headband using 67 stitches. My headband came out fitting loose and seems as though it wants to slide off my head very easily. What should I do to make the headband feel more snug/smaller? Do I need to reduce my stitches to maybe 61 stitches and/or should I go down a full size on the hook to an H or size 4 hook? The yarn I bought is Red Heart Medium #4 which in my opinion seems to feel pretty thin. I would appreciate your input on my issue with the fit of my headband. I need to add, I did undo and redo the headband twice, first time I attempted to make it, I stitched on 71 and of course the headband came out way to big for my head. Second time around that I redid the headband I crocheted 67 stitches and still the headband turned out to fit to loose on my head. Please help! I can sure use your input. I would have to say, that I consider myself a beginner or possibly a borderline intermediate crochet learner. I understand how to do most all the stitches in this tutorial but I don’t know how to rectify the size to fit. 😔.
      I do love your video and the headband comes out beautiful when it is completely done. Thank you for sharing this pattern!

    • @mireyakearney9102
      @mireyakearney9102 3 года назад

      @Crystal Norris -Thank you! I did exactly as you said and I realized I crochet loose and not tight so my headband was coming out bigger in size. And even when I went down from 71 to 61 stitches the headband was still to big for my head. I think it’s because my head is small in size so I decided to take a whole different route and used a thicker yarn and a whole size small hook and at last the headband fits! Yay! The other thing I decided is that with the thicker yarn I like the look of the headband to be all one piece with the top knotted design but I’m just wondering if I finish it off the same way?? Am I supposed to put right sides together to stitch closed my headband or am I supposed to stitch the headband closed by bringing the right and left side edges of the headband together and slip stitch them closed?

    I just tested positive and I’ve been spending the last two days (between sleeping, sleeping, and doing house things) making this. It’s coming out so cute! I’m not done yet but no doubt it’s gonna be great! Thanks for the tutorial!

    Wow! This pico looks like a popcorn stitch, but that's so difficult to do. Instead we can do this😁

    I absolutely love this design! I was making an olive green one but then I saw the middle one you have at 0:23 and omg I fell in love with that too. I like the dusty rose look it has, do you know where I can find that yarn? Thank you!

      Thank you! All these are Yarn Bee Soft and Sleek and the darker pink is called Mauve, the lighter pink is Blush, and the grey is Dark Grey ❤️

    Awesome tutorial! So glad you’re teaching foundation row. It took me a few tries to get it But now that I have, it’s my preferred method for starting when possible. The stretchy starting row gives a much better edge that goes better with any project. I’m going to make at least one of these beautiful headbands today!

      Thank you so much! I agree! I really struggled learning the foundation row but now I love it and find it so easy.

    I'm having a go at this. I really like this foundation chain. It's a new skill for me to learn. The left side of my chain is a nice straight line but the right side is bumpy in places. Any idea why this would happen? Thank you.

    • @TheTurtleTrunk
      @TheTurtleTrunk  3 года назад +1

      Glad you enjoy it Kay! It could be your tension is off or you may have forgotten to make the chain before the stitch in some places.
