    I never knew there was a space battle, I thought the whole CIS fleet was grounded and the Republic Acclamators all just landed. So, besides Mace Windu's mission to destroy the Anti Orbital cannons, this is all new information for me and I couldn't be happier. Space battles are some of the best Star Wars lore and I'm always glad to learn more about space battles I've never heard of.

    “ Given all the stories I’ve heard about Geonosis I was always considered lucky that my unit was not directly involved in heavy fighting that day. Some of the real fighting happened later that night we withdrew a large portion of our forces from the planet. A handful of Separatist frigates sent super battle droids to drain our manpower and supplies and see how they work in close quarters, which was quite effectively. The larger battle was something that I couldn’t even imagine, made real.”

    If Count Dooku intentionally sabotaged the Battle of Geonosis, why would he call for Saboath Squadron to come and bomb the Jedi and the Republic forces? Sure, he called them in to distract them. But the problem is that he has no idea how will this turned out. If it ended up resulting in the Separatists' victory, Darth Sidious will lose his face as Chancellor Palpatine of the Republic. And he is NOT going to be happy about this and most likely strangle Dooku through their holo-communication just to keep him in line.

  • @thalmoragent9344
    @thalmoragent9344 11 месяцев назад +8

    One thing thats always bothered me about the Battle of Geonosis is that, aside from rescuing the Jedi currently in the Arena, the Republic Fleet should've had a few ships dedicated to a *Base Delta Zero* on the planet surface.
    Wouldn't have needlessly sacrificed so many lives, Jedi and Clone alike, had they just bombarded the hell out of the planet surface.
    Sure, leave a few miles around the dropzone in order open, to ensure nothing gets too close to the Arena. As soon as the Jedi were recovered, then that's only one more spot they can annihilate in the process.
    Would've saved a lot of trouble.

    • @islandmaster5064
      @islandmaster5064 11 месяцев назад +5

      I agree. However I'm assuming that because so few individuals had military experience in a war campaign, ideas passed on from centuries of peace, negative views of orbital bombardment (seen as a barbarian tactic and taboo in circles) and an assumption that they could capture the separatist leaders and Dooku lead to this being a blood bath

    • @josesanchezrodriguez1783
      @josesanchezrodriguez1783 11 месяцев назад +4

      Base Delta Zero refers especifically to exterminating all life on a planet, what you are proposing is just a plain, old orbital bombardment.

      @thalmoragent9344 11 месяцев назад +3

      @islandmaster5064
      Yeah, fair enough.
      Just sucks to think that a single action could've potentially shortened the war, or at least kept Geonosis out of the way so they wouldn't have yet another battle with mass casualty rates on the planet later on.

    • @thalmoragent9344
      @thalmoragent9344 11 месяцев назад +2

      @josesanchezrodriguez1783
      Ah, I see.
      Well, regardless, there are Geonosians and Seperatist War leaders on the planet so, kill them off alongside most all the Factories and Droid units all in one go, and you're solid.
      At least the Empire wiped them out later on so, I guess the Republic did eventually learn from its mistakes and actually go through with properly dealing with such a deadly hivemind

    I never knew about this battle, but it makes total sense. A planet as important as this would totally have a defense fleet, and catching them off guard also makes sense.
    As a quick aside, why did you add video stills of Imperial and Rebel battles? 😅 If it's due to the lack of available imagery, a potential option is to slow down your transitions so you need less footage. Drachinifel uses a similar still format, and he changes once a paragraph, instead of once every 5 to 10 seconds, unless he is listing off a bunch of ships in rapid succession.
    EDIT: The other option is to add playthrough footage (or stills of it) of Jedi Starfighter. 😁

    Early EU depictions of the GAR's spacefleet before Genndywars gave them the V-19 Torrent and RotS gave them the ARC and V-Wing and further stuff showed off classic Y-Wings and the clone Headhunter were silly. The Republic Comics said they had *NO* clone starfighters and were entirely reliant on Jedi, Jedi Starfighter had them relying mostly on Nym's people and a couple jedi, the Boba Fett kid books had a "Cord-class" fighter with a single laser that never got any art, the Pandemic Clone Wars games had swarms of Jedi Starfighters presumably with clone pilots.

    • @justjoking5841
      @justjoking5841 11 месяцев назад +1

      If we interpret this logically... It is possible that the Republic had been on a secret buying binge of military hardware.
      If we consider the amount of time skipping between scenes. We can only assume that some duration has passed between the scenes on Kamino and the Clones showing up on Geonosis.
      Kuat Drive Yards produces a lot of vehicles. Jedi aren't the only ones to use the Delta 7 either. In the SW galaxy, anyone with the right amount of credits can purchase a starfigher of almost any class, presumably.

Was crucial to allowing the separatists to be able to fight the clones wars in the immediate short term, before they really got their war effort going. As had toth not intervened and distracted the jedi, enough to allow the escape of the separatist fleet and most importantly its transports carrying the droid army, the separatists would have had no army to oppose the GAR during the first six months of the war.

If there'd been matching powerful fleet forces to match the clearly VERY unique an Elite units of a rather huge GAR the current Sep forces there wouldn't have been able to keep up an the GAR coulda crushed a significant part of, if not entirely, the whole of the CIS since the ground army Literally ambushed them an even the in movie dialogue had them saying how shocking and BAD it was looking for the CIS.. if the Navy had been super powered an equipped an hit them with as much power as possible in just as devestating a coordinated ambush focuing AT LEAST on as many transports an firepower muscle like CIS carriers an heavt battleship an dreadnoughts for example.. I always kinda felt they could've made things significantly easier an majorly shortened the war or perhaps even prevented it altogether.. but the Republic sorely dropped the ball on this major part of the battle.
