I had a hard time because I didn’t understand HOW to play lmao I joined the 1000x server (because others would be high loot no zombies I hated that) and now I can build a small base with storage and not be terrified of losing my stuff. That and now I realize you can use random objects to create missing bits from my character. So yes I agree you give good advise
this is true but it has a bad habit of keeping most people on those servers I've noticed most people at least on console like servers that hand you everything and get you quick mind numbing pvp
Just got the game yesterday, so far I’ve broken my leg which led me to crawl back into the ocean to drown myself and start a new game. It’s only up from here 😂
Back in DayZ mod for arma 2 I opened a door while crouching and it knocked me prone to fully open and it broke my legs and I had no medical. I crawled for a hour to my friends for rescue ..many years ago lol
I just got DayZ today and i spent 15 minutes panicking trying to find someone and figure out why I couldn't drink my bottle of water just to realize I had accidentally equipped a mask.........10/10 game
Bought dayZ for myself as a Christmas present. Jumped in on a quite noob friendly Swedish server with a friend of mine and we played for 16 hours straight. Going from poor to rich with a ok base and 2 cars. It was super fun
what server did u play on? im also swedish and just got the game myself, and did it have any like mods so you can find ur friends easier? because we had quite a hard time finding eachother on the official servers.
The amount of detail in this game is insane. Definitely has a steep learning curve. Just started playing today. Managed to starve to death. Couldn't find any food other than chicken and wasn't able to light a fire.
I was unlucky enough in my first playthrough to cut my hands not once, but twice on bushes back-to-back. Overtime I wasn't sure what the cell-like icon was until I looked it up and figured it was an infected wound. As my health drained while in a dense apartment complex area, I climbed the high stories of a building and used most of my .22 ammo to kill zeds nearby to aid other nearby players as much as possible. I then took the pistol I found with a single bullet and no mag, and knelt down to decide for myself the time of my demise, free of more pain. 7/10 I'll probably play again
For my first game I had a great start finding perfect gear for a true survivalist and a companion I call Teddy. I carried Teddy to feel safe and to look safe to others, all though the walking rotten flesh didnt care either way. Things got scary when I found myself being run out of town by zombies after I took a shot at one of their grabby friends. I made my way through a forrest. Getting hungry I knew I needed to eat or I wouldnt be able to make it out of the thick pinny jungle. After trying an attempted home invasion on another player I finally came across a cabin with a clever waiting for me on the kitchen table. Now I could eat my canned spaghetti! Feeling good and getting use to fighting zombies with my new weapon of flesh and tin, I did some exploring. While slaying some zombies my feelings of security were checked when a dead gardner in a straw hat spooked me and caused me to drop Teddy. I didnt realize that I had seperated from my friend until I was across the street. I was surrounded, but I had to rescue Teddy. I fought my way out of church that gave sanctuary from the demons beyond. I traced my steps and like a miracle found Teddy lying under a pink jacket that I was pick pocketing just a moment before. Thinking about my food situation I moved on to find civilization. Following dirt trails and power lines I finally came across a small farming town. There were two other survivors roaming about playing with the zombies. I said hello and went about rumaging for scraps of food. I was finding lots of good things like canned peaches and bottles of water. Things were looking good for Teddy and I, that was until the other survivors started shooting. I didnt know if they were hunting me or just defending there lives from the undead. Either way I didnt want to stick around to find out. With zombies moving in while trying to make my escape I was caught by an aggressive biter. I finally put the man to rest but in the process I got a little beat up. I was bleeding bad and didnt notice until I was just about to lose conscience. I bandaged up just in time for things to go black. For almost twenty minutes I slipped in and out. Between being awake and asleep I drank all my Pipsis, ate my canned peaches, drank the water, and ate the beans trying to keep my self alive. I found a bed, layed down, and held Teddy while I hoped for the best. It was dark by the time I could keep my eyes open which made having my eyes open almost no good. Luckily I had a flashlight. I gathered all my most useful things since my jacket was now ruinded. Everything had been scattered trying to fend off death. Happy to be alive I crawled into bed with Teddy and logged out. The end.
@@Rifyy ya, I don't play much so don't remember hotkey, but there's a suicide option where you kneel down on the ground and put your gun to your head and you can decide whether to go through with it or cancel and get back up
-Start on PVE or Empty/Low pop. servers to get familiar with the map -Join heavy PVP servers to get used to the gun play of the game - Pick a server you want to play for a long time and stick to it.
Rules of Dayz to extend your life. 1. Trust no one. Especially if they say "I'm friendly". 2. When encountering players, always say "I'm friendly". Especially if you plan to kill them. 3. Never sort inventory in the open or in a building or public areas (towns and military areas). Always wait until you are in the woods to sort. 4. Avoid traveling on roads, railroad tracks, trails or along powerlines. Instead, follow treelines. 5. A crowbar is golden when starting out. It's a good melee weapon, can opener, and good for processing animals. 6. One power hit from a shovel causes unconsciousness. If you see someone with a shovel in their hands, run away or shoot them. Many more, but those will help.
My first experience was interesting, i was learning the controls without any help and i learned the controls pretty quickly, i was using a apartment roof to scout for places to loot, until i heard footsteps, i called out and it turns out it was a nervous women named carla, i headed down and we talked, we decided to survive together since we didnt were pretty new to dayz, we been to many places until we met oscar who was also a fresh spawn, we all joined force and me, carla and oscar were a mini team and survived for a while, we fpund food, water, and a few guns, until carla had to leave and it was just me and oscar, we survived for a little more until it got dark and we got killed by a fully geared player.
I always play alone. If I see other players, I dont trust them and either I run and hide or try to kill them lol. I have survived several days, sleeping In a tent, putting food and items to drybag and hiding them into ocean or under ground etc. Food, shelter, fire and basic stuff is no problem for me but finding medicine is... getting lost is easy too because the map is huge
I just started and had three nice encounters and one guy shooting me 😅. I did get out of dodge. I prefer to moderately trust people and offer some food or items. Honestly, I've not cared about dying. Playing alone is boring anyway 😊 I'll take my chances
Always gotta be that prick to do that - I mean why not just leave alone and let you see if survive night against zombies - why gotta always pvp ffs... they should make it so players cant kill each other and only zombies.
Great overview. Something I didn’t know when I first started playing was to look for fallen fruit under fruit trees. That has saved me countless times from starving.
Great video. I just started playing DayZ, got under 100 hours played and most of the stuff you didnt cover in this video is so fun to try and learn by yourself. Hope you make more videos in the future :)
After my time with game, a must for new players is get a mic so you can talk to other players. A good amount of players that would normally be friendly will kill you once it becomes clear your not talking.
A reasonable reaction to someone without a mic, tbh. It's not even prohibitively expensive to get one. If you can't afford a gaming headset, just get a $30 pair of Samsung's in-ear AKG headphones with the inline mic that you'd use for your phone and plug that into your controller. They're great headphones as long as you don't buy the $5 knockoffs. Idk how people can stand to play games without headphones anyway since everything sounds like garbage and has no stereo or directional effect when using TV speakers. Such a casual-gamer move.
@@ObeyCampmost gamers are casual gamers tho. A small percentage play games competitively/for money. But most just wanna pick up a game that looks fun and play it.
My first run on this game I ended up having to eat cat food to fight starvation, my character did throw up but I thought it was because of an upset stomach. In my defense after playing through a couple more times anybody could’ve made this mistake😅 Edit: I can’t tell you how many times I had canned food and starved to death because I didn’t know how to open it, I’ve still never found a can opener
I dont know why they'd make it so cat food makes you sick. The sad truth is there is more actual meat in cat food then there is in your average hotdog.
A few little tips for new players: Make sure you have a mic. No mic, no life. Back to the coast you go. Two rags can be used to make improvised gloves. This is extremely handy (so to speak) as you will want hand protection right away. If you need food and water, venture into some woods, and stay put for a few minutes. The game will spawn mushrooms, fruit, and even small stones (if trails, boulders, or railroad tracks are nearby). As log as the mushrooms aren't rotten, they are safe to eat, and provide a ton of hydration. Small stones can be combined with each other or if you have only one, can be used on a boulder to create a stone knife. You will always want to have a knife on you, no matter what. A screwdriver can be used like a knife in many cases, and can also be used to mine small stone from boulders, disarm landmines, and some other stuff, so if you find a screwdriver, it's worth holding onto. You can use a bone on a boulder to create a knife. So if you kill a chicken and get the 2 bones, you can turn one bone into a bone knife, and then use the bone knife to craft a bone hook. You can also use the bone knife to dig up worms. This is a great way to preserve your primary knife or screwdriver, which you used to process the chicken. I typically carry a hunting knife for my main knife, and use this bone method to put all the wear and tear on a disposable blade. This will also let your whetstone (for sharpening/repairing knives) last longer, too. Another tip is to combine two stacks of rags (12 rags total) to craft a rope, or use a knife on guts (guts can be obtained from larger animals, skinned players, and even as loot on some zombies). Rope is very useful. You want to carry some rope at all times. Rope can be combined with a burlap sack to make a courier bag, and a courier bag can be combined with 3 short sticks to make an improvised backpack. Finally, if you find a cooking pot, it's gonna become your best friend. Once you have a cooking pot, you will rarely ever need to go into towns and cities. A cooking pot can be used to boil water (purifies the water after a few minutes), and boiling raw foods will make them more nutritious. If you have fat on hand, but no water, you can put the fat in the pot along with raw meat, mushrooms, and/or fruit to bake them. You can use the pot with a campfire using a cooking tripod, or you can fashion a cooking stand using 2 short sticks and one long stick. Just remember that your cooking pot will degrade over time, but it takes a while. I don't recall if the cooking pot can be repaired yet. I actually haven't had to repair one yet. If it can be repaired, I'd guess epoxy is what you need. Maybe the blowtorch? They're always changing/adding stuff in this game. Regardless, a cooking pot and knife are gonna be your two best friends for surviving DayZ. Learning how to survive in the woods is a great way to survive. Cities are very dangerous, and you will likely need to venture into them from time to time for specific items, but if you can ensure your food and water comes from the woods, then you can avoid the cities, only entering because you want to, not because you need to.
My third run I found good clothes, food, water, guns, melee weapons and a backpack and I eventually came up a light house with a body beneath someone jumped I took their meat and bones which was dark and I went to a house before being chased into it by a zombie. I started a fire while the zombie screamed but eventually distracted by the fire the zombie stopped screaming and I realized so I turned and saw a man wearing the exact same clothes as me with the exact same guns and backpack staring at me from behind and we locked eyes before we started fighting eventually he knocked me out and I thought I was dead but he just stared at my body but when I woke up I stabbed him with my bone knife and ran into a nearby building to eventually die maybe it was karma for harvesting the poor lighthouse man
I’d love to see a modernised version of this game. I love the concept and how in depth it is. I can just imagine playing online with a group of friends, all working together and contributing to the camp to survive. Each person takes on a role and learns new skills over time (mechanics, carpentry etc). Collected resources allows you to make a custom built base using each persons skills. Maybe you could have children, which act as an extra life if a player dies. The end goal? I don’t know, maybe to survive for 1000 days or to kill all of the infected zombies.
Been getting into this game, I absolutely love it. But I feel like my guy starves to death so quickly that all I end up doing is looting for food so that I'm well fed enough to go looting for more food. Literally ate 2 entire chickens and some soda and my guy was starving in like 10 minutes. Or worse, looking for a knife, because mine breaks after like 5 uses. But then all the modded servers are so easy that it's boring.
It will seem like that at first, once you've been alive for longer and had the chance to eat some more the hunger will slow down. Your character's temperature plays a part too. The better your insulation from your clothing, the higher your temp will be which means you'll retain more energy from food.
@@SeanK1 Thanks, I had a much better luck this morning. Got some warm clothing, managed to kill a deer, found mushrooms and fruit and find some clean water and I was so full that I was able to venture super deep into the map where none of the loot was taken. Love this game.
Best tips for newbies is to start in community before official servers official is 10x harder and scarce on items community there’s loot everywhere I suggest playing community at first get the hang of it learn what mags and clips to use for certain guns etc
**FINALLY** an actual beginners guide that doesn’t skip over important information, doesn’t assume a player already has “50 hours” 🙄, is succinct yet precise and understandable and doesn’t “explain” beginner essential knowledge with “do this because I have 6,000 hours”. I just bought DayZ yesterday and have yet to play it (no free time until tomorrow) and I wanted to get a good heads-up before taking the plunge. Thank you for making this video; subscribed! 😊👍
Thank you so much!!! I have been trying to learn the game, but this guide just brought me up to speed with all the basic concepts! And I had been struggling to find an actually recently made one.
@@worldsokayestcatdad6798 I wouldn't be against it. At the moment I have some other great plans for videos that will help new players so I'll be working on them very soon :)
Just had my best try so far, managed to get everything I needed too go fishing, got a decent source of food, even found some nice weapons, then dropped dead to a cold because I couldn't find anything to light a fire with
Just keep in mind guys that you won't always survive day 1 either I been playing this game for many years and even I still sometimes die to hunger and thirst so don't be discouraged if you die a lot to it as well
I know this is small, but I was surprised you didnt add any combat into the video. Like how to block a zombie attack and how to then hit back. Seems basic, but I was a big upgrade to my early knowledge when I found out you can block then attack.
It is basic and it would've had a place in the video, but it's hard to remember and incorporate everything. A lot of these things players will figure out themselves though - the idea of this really is just to give people an idea of what they're doing in the game.
I watched DayZ back in the day when it was still an Arma mod, just bought it on PS5, crazy to see all the differences from then till now, great video it helped me quite a bit (and amazing first name)
I've been playing Dayz for the last couple of weeks and have died many times. Am playing from xbox series s and absolutely love the game 😎. Thank you for sharing your hints and tips 😎🥰
@@thetotallygoodgamer it was more or less the same the game is just wayyy more polished than it used to be. The game is still pretty glitchy but on release the game was barely playable.
Hey I really enjoy your videos. I think your inner monologue when processing what to do is fascinating in these videos. I know it's a lot of work to do so I appreciate the videos you have posted up and hope you post more in the future. If you need help cutting any videos up, hmu
i used to play Dayz back in the good ol Arma II days, iv seen Dayz Standalone became a thing but i had to sell my computer in order to buy me a car, so here i am now almos 10 years later going to play it again
The mod will always be infinitely better. You will spend 3 hours just to find a few cans of food and maybe a pistol before getting killed by someone or something. Game is literally pointless and so damn boring if you don't have friends to play with since everyone else will shoot on site. It caters to greedy people, so if you're greedy you'll love this game lmao
I started playing this game last week. I met some cool people in a server who were fairly new. We all stayed together and ended up with really good loot. They had first aid kits and a gun with mags and ammo. I had a big backpack, lots of food and water. We were pretty set. Then the food rations got low and we were too far inland and couldn’t find any other food or animals. I told them I heard an animal and needed their gun. Needless to say they were sacrificed so that I could continue to live. I ended up dying to food poisoning that same day. Sorry Oscar and Ryan if you guys are reading this.
Awesome tip with the food from dead zombies ! I kept starving to death haha. Ammo is sometimes super easy to find and then othertimes impossible. And then when its's balanced you can't find the right caliber. DayZ is such a fun game and it does so much with so little that you can literally sink 100s of hours into it without getting bored.
Played dayz for the first time yesterday, a fully kitted player snuck up behing me with a silenced sks and treid to execute me but i killed him with a hammer and took all this high level loot i had no idea how to fuckin use
Quick tip: Find the town of Berezino along the east coast, head north to the smaller town of Khelm. Just west of Khelm is the Druzhba camping lodge; lots of hunting gear/guns/ammo can spawn there.
Downloaded the game an hour ago, downloading Livona at this very moment and watching the video as I'm walking my dog. This is super useful as I died to a zombie trying to figure out unarmed fighting system at first 😅
Had my first game this morning. I think I must’ve broke my leg because the screen kept pulsing and I kept passing out and had to crawl. Before I died. Second game, found a baseball bat killed a few zombies looted some food. Got cocky and took on a zombie that was faster than the others killed her and almost immediately bled out. 10/10 game, gonna die again later.
Started playing yesterday... Wish I had known about moving inland. Good tip! My first experience, a naked guy beat me to death on the beach while I learned controls, then I died next spawn from thirst/hunger because I couldn't find any loot around the spawn area (server was pretty full so my rookie mistake I guess). Definitely gonna head inland next time.
Great video and insight to someone who's considering buying the game. Reading theough some of the comments it really appeals to me to get involved. My question is: why spawn in, what is the purpose of eating food, getting clothing etc.. is there an end goal/main objective??
To put it broadly the purpose is to just survive. There's no fixed objective as such, you'll find out everything the game has to offer as you explore it :)
I have only managed to reach 2 towns deep inland Haha. some disease or walking off a barn stair thus breaking my leg or 3 zombies ganging up on me has stopped me.
My DayZ experience is usually this: Spawn on the coast, go to coastal town, find clothes, maybe a melee weapon, try to go inland, either starve or die to zombies, quit game
I’m not sure if it’s different but here on Xbox I’ve joined 15 servers now and spent 20 minutes in each walking building to building to find empty rooms. Found a hoodie in one room but other than that I’ve spent two hours now running around multiple servers for 20 minutes. Never seen an animal. Fought one zombie. No loot anywhere
Just started playing yesterday on xbox. What a great game! First play I was at the coast and saw a lightower. Desided to see what happens when I fall. Broke a leg ofcourse, something I notised when pasing out. Tried to restart, make a new character etc. Nothing worked. Tried to walk and keep passing out if I went to fast. So after a while dicided to starve to dead, saw no other way to restart. now on my 2nd try and found a raincoat a stick a hat I got off a zombie. Need to find food, but still alive :)
Things I just found out from my first playthrough that this video didn’t tell me: right click + s to block, hold shift left-click to heavy melee, spacebar holding an object rotates.
empty clips on guns. drybags keep stuff dry. use a scope/binoculars to scout areas before entering, you'll spot players just minding there own business. this is not only a survival simulator is also about tracking and hunting. high spots are good for this... i use a second monitor with the map next to me,just so you know how you get to all the good loot places. instead of just wondering around, I just hooked up a 15-euro vga display next to main display. works perfects.
Trying to play this on console and moving/using the inventory is pure pain. took me 10 mins to reload a mag xD having to put stuff on the floor to combine is such a ball ache and I wish we had the drag an drop method PC have instead -_-
Very good video my man. just got baitet by The Day Before and just started DL this game, This will make it alot easier to get started for sure ;) Much love!
I got this last night, found a jerry can, thought I was gasing up a junker when I was actually drinking it and proceeded to get sick, vomit everywhere and then get killed by zombies 😂
Been playing since the Arma 2 Mod but haven't played Standalone since it was in Early Access, stoked to finally maybe get geared up and enjoy the game how it was meant to be!
Im a tarkover and play many Dayzesque games so I figured Id understand the game quickly. Im here to figure out which launcher to click. Dayz is going to be rough
here is the thing, the tip at 1:07, search towns near where you are for food items, they are all just empty. I have found a fair few seed packets in greenhouses, but in the towns its nothing but clothing. Is loot only spawned "in vicinity" and not in searchable drawers etc? it does not seem like anything is searchable, other than a Sea Chest I found which works the same way the infected do, just go close to it and open inventory. This game is hard and, thats not a turn off for me, Survival should be hard. The last time I tried it though years ago, I died from thirst while the whole time it was raining, things like that are a little silly, rain weather alone should stave off dehydration from falling imo, anyone that does not have a brain injury can look up and catch water in their mouth, or in hands, clothing etc is fair that its dirty and you wouldn't use that. So.. The times I have tried to play recently, Any hits I take from z's (that blocking system with melee is ass) ofc take some health. my health always just goes doen, never back up, even with patching the bleeds, is it that I need food and water before I will start to regain any health?
Getting started with this game: -Got off the coast, found a skirt, got killed by infected. -Got off the coast, found a Ruger 1022 without ammo, moved to the next town, ate cat food got poisoned and died. -Got off the coast, found some decent clothing and a handsaw. Got killed by infected. -Got to an old construction site, found a Glock with no ammo, got killed by infected. -As of now I have a decent jacket, an empty rifle, an empty shotgun that ironically had 1 shot in it but I reckoned it was empty when I found it so I blasted that one shell into a wall, and a sledgehammer. I have no food and no water and there is hardly any loot. Conclusion: this game is so fucking hard.
I tried it for the first time last night spent an hour running around before getting booted due to lag, found 1 small shed and that was the only building I found
so whats the point of the game? just survive for a long time and when you are done playing you die? or is there like a timer for logging out and then you can start where you left off? can you make like your own base to store stuff in?
This game is more about starting out with nothing, with suffering physical attributes, and trying to scrounge around to gather things that will help the character get healthy and be better able to survive. After that, the game falls on its face. The base-building is downright awful.
I am a veteran PC gamer going back to the 1990s, so naturally I jumped in DayZ without any prior research just now. My first experience I found a village in land some basic supplies, it was going pretty good, I also dug up a earthworm and proceeded to try for a few min to eat it, then I accidentally ran into a zombie so I took off running with a T-shirt still in my hands. I had a knife bound to 1, but I couldn't draw the knife, so I kept running and fiddling with inventory and couldn't drop the darn shirt, or draw the knife. Anyway now I'm here lol
It's a great game if you're looking for a survival game, but not so great if you're looking for a real-life simulator. What I'm getting at, for the slow, is the animations in this game are ATROCIOUS. - wringing out clothes. There's an animation for wringing out clothes, but the character isn't even doing anything with the clothing - drinking water from a well. There's a very vague animation of someone trying to drink something, but not water in the hands - collision detection is awful. You can hit a zombie from ten feet away with a stick - walking looks silly, with all the bobbing up and down. I could go on, but they really need to fix how this game LOOKS before adding any changes to what is DONE.
On my first time, I found a lot of dry bags with peaches in them for thirst and hunger which let me survive till a friend could be somewhat near me. We never found eachother
You mentioned there's no good way to navigate other than the map. New player here and astronomer. The night sky in Dayz is accurate. If you know how to find Polaris (north star) you can use it for navigation.

Do you start from nothing everytime to start the game from day to day ?
The amount of detail in this game is insane. Definitely has a steep learning curve. Just started playing today. Managed to starve to death. Couldn't find any food other than chicken and wasn't able to light a fire.
it was the same for me I died because I didn't know where to go and it was raining so I got sick and died.
Just bought the game yesterday, had the same problems lol
I started playing today and this i so useful. Thanks for this!
I started today and I am a master at starvation
@@eyesoffate187 mid game to be fair
I was unlucky enough in my first playthrough to cut my hands not once, but twice on bushes back-to-back. Overtime I wasn't sure what the cell-like icon was until I looked it up and figured it was an infected wound. As my health drained while in a dense apartment complex area, I climbed the high stories of a building and used most of my .22 ammo to kill zeds nearby to aid other nearby players as much as possible. I then took the pistol I found with a single bullet and no mag, and knelt down to decide for myself the time of my demise, free of more pain.
7/10 I'll probably play again
Every DayZ player has experienced something like this don't worry
The end.
@@timetraveler2yearsago758 holy shit that is a lot. Respect to you man
You can off yourself?
@@Rifyy ya, I don't play much so don't remember hotkey, but there's a suicide option where you kneel down on the ground and put your gun to your head and you can decide whether to go through with it or cancel and get back up
-Start on PVE or Empty/Low pop. servers to get familiar with the map
-Join heavy PVP servers to get used to the gun play of the game
- Pick a server you want to play for a long time and stick to it.
Poor Carla is gonna join the server to find both of y'all dead
@@AlKhebir11yeah I got the game last night and is good, but it gets boring sometimes alone
Same here, I started a few days ago and exploring on your own when you got the basics is so much fun! Tjena föresten :)
I just fell in love with this game. It’s the ultimate apocalypse survival game!
After my time with game, a must for new players is get a mic so you can talk to other players. A good amount of players that would normally be friendly will kill you once it becomes clear your not talking.
No mic, no life. Unless atleast they chat and are very 'non sketchy' in their movement
Top video, very helpful for an old player coming back to the game - feels different to the days of SKS vs M4 battles!
Thanks! And yeah the game has certainly evolved a lot...
My first run on this game I ended up having to eat cat food to fight starvation, my character did throw up but I thought it was because of an upset stomach. In my defense after playing through a couple more times anybody could’ve made this mistake😅
Edit: I can’t tell you how many times I had canned food and starved to death because I didn’t know how to open it, I’ve still never found a can opener
Tip: use any blade tools to open the cans
You can also use screw driver
My first human encounter, i was beaten for my pea coat. Neither of us had anything. Beaten to death by fists for a jacket..
I dont know why they'd make it so cat food makes you sick.
The sad truth is there is more actual meat in cat food then there is in your average hotdog.
What about the ring pull ?
A few little tips for new players:
Make sure you have a mic.
Great bunch of tips - thanks for taking the time!
Good tips bro! I found a cooking pot and you can also use it to store items in it.
Bruh you just changed my entire play style! Thank you 🫡
Good tips bro, seems like there is always something new to learn.
Thanks man. I was always wondering if you can survive in the woods without entering the city.
My third run I found good clothes, food, water, guns, melee weapons and a backpack and I eventually came up a light house with a body beneath someone jumped I took their meat and bones which was dark and I went to a house before being chased into it by a zombie. I started a fire while the zombie screamed but eventually distracted by the fire the zombie stopped screaming and I realized so I turned and saw a man wearing the exact same clothes as me with the exact same guns and backpack staring at me from behind and we locked eyes before we started fighting eventually he knocked me out and I thought I was dead but he just stared at my body but when I woke up I stabbed him with my bone knife and ran into a nearby building to eventually die maybe it was karma for harvesting the poor lighthouse man
People jump from those lighthouses to kill themselfs, you can find some food there yeah. But many of them are naked.
That sounds so disturbing 🤣

I’d love to see a modernised version of this game. I love the concept and how in depth it is. I can just imagine playing online with a group of friends, all working together and contributing to the camp to survive. Each person takes on a role and learns new skills over time (mechanics, carpentry etc). Collected resources allows you to make a custom built base using each persons skills. Maybe you could have children, which act as an extra life if a player dies. The end goal? I don’t know, maybe to survive for 1000 days or to kill all of the infected zombies.
The game for you would be Project Zomboid
@@lemoofan5418 Yeah, I've seen that. It does look pretty good! Unfortunately I don't have a PC though ☹️
@@theartfulrogers daammnn! You gotta get one

Great concept bro🎉

Thanks for the guide. Died like 7 times straight due to starvation/dehydration as a result of no food or water being in any house whatsoever.
Just keep in mind guys that you won't always survive day 1 either I been playing this game for many years and even I still sometimes die to hunger and thirst so don't be discouraged if you die a lot to it as well
Good to know!

How do you block an attack!?

The mod will always be infinitely better. You will spend 3 hours just to find a few cans of food and maybe a pistol before getting killed by someone or something. Game is literally pointless and so damn boring if you don't have friends to play with since everyone else will shoot on site. It caters to greedy people, so if you're greedy you'll love this game lmao
lol I usally have a sniper and a full auto rifle and armor in 3 hours
Thinking about getting this game thank you for helping me make my decision
Played dayz for the first time yesterday, a fully kitted player snuck up behing me with a silenced sks and treid to execute me but i killed him with a hammer and took all this high level loot i had no idea how to fuckin use
Thats wild bruh!
Quick tip: Find the town of Berezino along the east coast, head north to the smaller town of Khelm. Just west of Khelm is the Druzhba camping lodge; lots of hunting gear/guns/ammo can spawn there.

Logged on for the third time with a friend. We’re determined to learn this game!
Edit: This was a stellar video. Thank you.
Edit:
I really wish the hunger thing was scaled down as sometimes spawning far inland and not being the first through means you won't be lasting long.
New comer here , love the videos keep them coming ❤🙏
Thank you! More will be coming :)
Downloaded the game an hour ago, downloading Livona at this very moment and watching the video as I'm walking my dog. This is super useful as I died to a zombie trying to figure out unarmed fighting system at first 😅
Don't trust anyone.
My god is this game difficult
😅 food is my main issue
@@FREESTUNNER207getting gear is my main issue

It’s insane how much stuff you have to remember just to play a game. I thought we were leaving reality. Haha not in dayz.
This is really helpful, I have just purchased Dayz and was really struggling, thank you :)
I have only managed to reach 2 towns deep inland Haha. some disease or walking off a barn stair thus breaking my leg or 3 zombies ganging up on me has stopped me.
But Good god is it addictive. Havent felt like this about a game since maybe lol 10 years ago.
Give it a few months and you can go from the coast to tisy without worry on foot.
My DayZ experience is usually this: Spawn on the coast, go to coastal town, find clothes, maybe a melee weapon, try to go inland, either starve or die to zombies, quit game
You forgot the most important thing anyone should learn in DayZ...
F11 🙃
I’m not sure if it’s different but here on Xbox I’ve joined 15 servers now and spent 20 minutes in each walking building to building to find empty rooms. Found a hoodie in one room but other than that I’ve spent two hours now running around multiple servers for 20 minutes. Never seen an animal. Fought one zombie. No loot anywhere
bro right i hate that i spent 30 fucking dollars on this ass game
I've had a good experience on official, Seen several moose and chickens, Several zombies even in small areas and a good bout of loot.

The Best Starting Guide I've ever saw Thanks man!!
Thank you! Happy to help :)

Funny thing I found out yesterday: you can even open cans with a barbed wire bat.
I just picture someone trying to do that irl
Getting started with this game:
-Got off the coast, found a skirt, got killed by infected.
The man, the myth, the legend.

It's a great game if you're looking for a survival game, but not so great if you're looking for a real-life simulator. What I'm getting at, for the slow, is the animations in this game are ATROCIOUS.
- wringing out clothes. There's an animation for wringing out clothes, but the character isn't even doing anything with the clothing
- drinking water from a well. There's a very vague animation of someone trying to drink something, but not water in the hands
- collision detection is awful. You can hit a zombie from ten feet away with a stick
- walking looks silly, with all the bobbing up and down.
I could go on, but they really need to fix how this game LOOKS before adding any changes to what is DONE.
I’m confused what’s the moral of the game like do you build a base or do you just run around
On my first time, I found a lot of dry bags with peaches in them for thirst and hunger which let me survive till a friend could be somewhat near me. We never found eachother
Wish me luck boys I’m gonna play dayz for the first time today when I get off work
@@rttptt3710 I can’t find any loot lmfao other than that it’s pretty cool
You mentioned there's no good way to navigate other than the map. New player here and astronomer. The night sky in Dayz is accurate. If you know how to find Polaris (north star) you can use it for navigation.
