Ahhh WOW.... I've just been watching video after video after video from your website. Your work blows my mind, you are a MASTER, and of so many genres. Just Wow!!!!
Thank you very much for the kind words. If you want to see some more videos, please have a look at Instagram, Vimeo or my normal website. Would be happy to see you there as well. Greetings Frederick
I MUCH prefer the flaring on these than most of the other "affordable" recently released anamorphics from the Orions and below (in cost). The horizontals flares are not like harder solid blocks of white / with super hard edges like the Atlas ana's and many of those other "affordable" sets. Best flaring of the lot I think. A lot of CA but for me it's part of the look I'd be chasing with these. A little soft from some of the other demo's I've seen but, I think it's more that the focus pullers have not entirely his focus more than anything. I would buy this set over a lot of the others, however would definitely test myself first too before investing. I like your approach to this video and am very glad I've stumbled upon your channel. You've a new sub ;-)
Thank you very much for the kind words. And thank you for becoming my subscriber. 🙂 I will try to upload more videos in the future, always working on RUclips videos next to my normal job as a DoP. Regarding the lenses. Green chromatic aberration of the lenses in the out of focus region are quite visible, that's true. I need to test the lenses further to see how the lenses affect my work. For me filming commercials with people or filming feature work, the lenses would be perfect. I think they have a little bit of the style of Vantage Hawk V-Lite. Shooting cars or liquid or normal product commercials I would rather test them out more because of the chromatic aberration. The focus puller has been a cameraman friend, so he is not a fully seasoned focus puller, but for me handled the job very good. Modern lenses tend to be very sharp also wide open. So I kind of like the little softer look wide open with the Pavos! Please get back to me in the future when uploading new films on RUclips or follow me on Instagram 🙂 Greetings Frederick
Hi RJ, thank you very much. The slider is the Prosup Slider. www.prosup.com It's perfect for 100mm bowl heads like the Sachtler Video 18. I can strongly recommend it and also using it almost 10 years now. It comes in one long Pelicase and has two lengths. 1,20m and 1m. And it can be applied together and has a length of 2,20m. With the Tango Beam the slider can also be hanged upside down, which I am using quite frequently. Greetings Frederick
Beautiful test Fredrick! I really love the look of these. To me, they have a very nice vintage feel to them, which cannot really be said about a lot of the newer anamorphic offerings. For the price, they look hard to beat. And they honestly look sharper wide open than the Orion, at least the 40mm and 75mm. I could be wrong, but I’m very interested in these!
Thank you very much! Yes, the price is really fair for these primes. And 28,40,75 is really a good set. I also have the same feeling about vintage-look like you. Right now, people who are interested into vintage or character should have a look into these.
Sorry, I only tested the primes wide open. They get much sharper at 2.8-4 this is for certain. At the Anamorphic Facebook group there posted a person called Nikolas Moldenhauer some screenshots at 2.8 or 4.
It's the Prosup Tango slider. Please have a look at this website. I really like this slider, it's compact and super smooth. www.prosup.com/product/camera-slider-tango-roller-100mm/

Your test convinced me to order that exact set… 😂
Happy to hear that! 🙂Let me know what you are thinking after receiving them. 👍
Putting budget lenses on one of the most expensive camera's out there 😆 Lovely images, though the lenses do feel super soft.
That's right. it's an expensive camera! 😀But I love the soft look at 2.1...
I agree@@frederickgomoll
