Bro !!!! This is literally the best anamorphic film I've ever seen !!! You have a confusing great talent which it caused that every movie you upload is madly better than the last one! Goat
thanks a lot, man. actually there's no crew at all, its just me and my girl as the main subject. Anamorphic lenses are hard to make, but damn, they are worth the effort!
I don’t think Sirui has much contribution in this. It’s your immense talent in lighting, filming and colour grading which brought this outstanding quality. I’m sure that you’ll come up with the same quality stuff even with an iPhone 15 Pro Max. Cheers!! ❤
Yes, you have listed several films that used lenses with this focal length. However, many Hollywood movies were shot with a camera that has a super 35 sensor, which means that they had to use a lens with a different focal length to get a similar look. I want to say that this is an excellent lens, but the look of a Hollywood movies can be achieved with other lenses, and of course it is an advantage if they are anamorphic.
Thanks for watching, bud. I think the three films I mentioned ( 1917, The Witch, and Call me by Your Name ) were shot on full frame cameras with 35mm lenses.
Ermia Ramez my guy!! I have been literally scouring the internet for content like this. This is the best demonstration and review of a lens I have ever seen! I appreciate all the work and effort that goes into this video. Please keep up the great work! I'll look forward to more!
Hey mate, your film is absolutely stunning! I've been creating 3D short films for a while and am now eager to start shooting live-action. I've been researching this lens for some time and watched thousands of videos made with it, but your film blew my mind. My conclusion is that while the lens is fantastic, your talent in lighting and color grading takes it to another level. Would you mind sharing your post-process? Thanks, and amazing work!
OMG The best commercial video! Beautiful girl and icredible atmosphere! Nice voiceover. Very much liked the presentation of the material. I would like to see a science fiction movie in this style! You guys are awesome!

Loved this video. I am researching on cameras and lenses for a carrier. This video shows there is still hope for common people to aspire to become a videographer of International level.
Excellent work !!! I'm struggling to find a reliable tutorial on the internet about the settings to make on your A7IV before starting to shoot in anamorphic. Could you briefly tell me the settings you make on your camera to film correctly with your 1.6 anamorphic lens?
@@philippeborgne5546 thanks bud! I shot everything at 24fps, Iso 800 in Slog3 Sgamut 3Cine picture profile, XAVCS-I 10bit 4:2:2 codec. In case of accurate preview of your footage with proper desqueeze, I used an external monitor that have 1.6x desqueeze, but Fx3 now offers in camera desqueeze I guess, you can search it on RUclips.
Great review! this lens is a most have! I also have to tell you that the rolling shutter of the sony a7IV is very notorious but apart from that, the composition of the shots and color correction are really nice!
Great job🔥 ! Very nice lighting! Did you shoot handheld ? I am hesitating to buy the Saturn Lenses for my A7iv but afraid of IBIS not being enough to handle anamorphic footage. Did you experience jerky results when shooting handheld ?
Thanks bud! I shot the entire video handheld, except one or two scenes in the jungle. It’s definitely harder for IBIS to stabilize anamorphic lenses, but i used Actavie Stabilizer on A7IV and it was enough for 80% of the times.
I really like the type of contents that you are making and I really enjoy every second of them I can prospect what will happen in your life in short and long time and I see nothing except beauty and success
Very beautiful. I would love to know how you have build your rig and how you do focus. I assume you don't have a dedicated focus puller as an assistance.
Cinematic aspect ratio is around 2.35:1 to 2.40:1. On A7iv or any camera that records video in 16:9 you will get superwide 2.84:1 aspect ratio. I am sure you chopped off the sides of the footage & yet the footage is somewhere around 2.55:1 - still very wide. 1.6x anamorphic lens requires 3:2 recording (available in some cameras that allow open gate recording & have 3:2 sensor) 1.6*3/2 = 2.40:1 On camera's like A7iv the best you can go for an anamorphic is 1.33x 1.33*16/9 = 2.36:1 (close enough to 2.35:1)
you’re right, i mentioned that fact about my camera on the video as well. but 95% of consumer cameras dont have open gate 3:2 option. i think Panasonic S5II and Fuji XH2S are the only ones. i zoomed my videos 1.150x to fit the 2.39.1 ratio, but even the original ratio after desqueez is not very weird to use, its around 2.79:1, and we have feature films shot entirly on this aspect ratio, like Hateful Eight. but ofcruse it would be a lot more pleasing to shot 3:2 with these 1.6 , 1.8 & 2 x anamorphics.
Beautifully shot, edited and graded. I have the same combination, A7IV and the 35 saturn. I get a lot of screen wobble in the edges handheld. How do you deal with this?
