  • A Hugh Stewart film in which Terry joins forces with his fellow boarding house residents to set-up a modern-day gang of Robin Hoods who steal fur coats for charity. The film co-starred Hattie Jacques, Billie Whitelaw and Athene Seyler. Memorable cameos were provided by Kenneth Williams, Irene Handl and Clement Freud!

I am reminded of why I loved Hattie Jacques, she was brilliant. I agree the movie still holds up, had us in stitches.

I love this movie! I haven't seen it since 1970 -- 40 years ago! I bought a British VHS of it (Amazon.UK), but can't seem to get it switched to an American version.

My grandma just told me that I am related to Athene Seyler and that she used to know her. Cool!

@uszoninyc. I found it on AMC and recorded it the whole day! But since then i have learned that you can have it on dvd, of course. As to PAL vs NTSC, not to worry, just ask your dvd-player salesman to adjust it to "all regions." I did that on mine here in Europe and can play films from any country whatsoever. They must have that option in the US--Panasonic, even Radio Shack. Good luck! It's simply the best comedy in the world!

I've loved this film for years Can't find it anywhere in US. Only on old videotape, or DVD, but not US coded. Anyone know where I can find it?
