I feel so bad for Casey. Casey’s face looks devastated and I don’t think Brett wants to really marry the Chaplin she is just doing it because of what Casey said earlier even though he didn’t mean it. They need to tell eachother how they really feel so they can get together.

And all of the people who are saying that Gabi is long gone and shouldn't be an issue anymore don't understand that for Sylvie, Gabi and Matt always seemed to be the perfect couple and Gabi was her best friend. So this of course is an issue that they have to work through but that doesn't mean Sylvie doesn't want to be with Matt Casey

It all happened so fast that I think Sylvie didn't have time to think this through. IMO She agreed because she thinks that Casey is not interested in her and Casey is not 100% sure what is going on between them. I think they both feel something is there... Some connection, attraction, fascination, but for both of them it all what happened with Gabby and chaplain is still fresh. It all gives Sylvie doubts she doesn't know now who she wants, and even though she said yes to Kyle she did it because of what Casey said not because she wants chaplain and Casey said it because of misunderstanding.... now when she has all she wanted in 51 and Casey is there I think she will not leave. And I think they both Casey and Sylvie want it, want to find something more than friendship and trust ... they feel attraction to one another in so many ways, and they want love but they are scared and they need time, love needs time to bloom.

Poor Casey, the look on his face was like he'd had his heart ripped out. I get the feeling they wont even get to the wedding though, right before Casey walked up to her she looked a bit freaked out, I don't think shes 100% sure she does want to marry the chaplain. I'm still holding out hope that she changes her mind she doesn't belong with the chaplain she belongs with Casey.

I don't think Brett is going to marry the Chaplain. First, Brett hesitated before she said "Yes." Second, she didn't say "I love you" back to the Kyle. Third, when Casey came to congratulate her, Brett seemed uncomfortable about the situation. I'm curious on how the writers will write the Brett and Casey story line. I have a few ideas in mind. One idea is the factory explodes, to some extent, and causes some of the members to be either injured and/or trapped. I think Brett should be put into one of those situations because it could be a catalyst for her decision to not marry the Chaplain. A conflict could arise between Brett and the Chaplain, especially if he wants her to quit her dangerous job. I know that Kyle is the Chaplain for the CFD and understands the nature of being a first responder, but that could change if Brett gets injured and/or trapped.
Another idea is someone else gets injured (Mouch, Cruz, Foster, Ritter and maybe Herrman) which would cause Brett to stale any wedding plans.
A third idea is Brett and Casey will be going to that event for Boden's wife. I just don't know how it would come to fruition.
I understand that some fans do not like the Brett and Casey story line because of Gabby, but sometimes in life things happen unexpectedly. It was unexpected that Gabby would leave (because of Monica's decision to move on to other projects) and that she and Casey would divorce. I was expecting Casey to be single for awhile.
I guess that is why I'm intrigued by the Brett and Casey relationship because it IS unexpected. I liked that they bonded---over Gabby leaving (one of the reason why I think Brett said "yes" to Kyle's marriage proposal), over traumatic events, over their desire to travel and over their wishes to move on.
A couple seasons ago, if someone told me that Brett and Casey could become a couple---I would have laughed in their faces. But, now I am intrigued by the possibility of it. I can't wait for season 8!! I just hope that the writers don't keep us waiting for 22 episodes for Brett and Casey to get together.
On a side note--did anyone else notice Severide look at Casey, when Brett said "yes" to Kyle's marriage proposal?? Does that mean Severide knows or suspects that Casey has feelings for Brett??

Brenda Weber if Brett marries the chaplain, then she is moving back to Indiana which means the actress may not be coming back next season. I do agree with you on the fact that after the fire, there may be possible trap in the warehouse with injuries. I also think that if the actress is not leaving then it would make sense if Brett decides not to marry the chaplain then she will try things with Casey.

@@hillarystone7506 Brett leaving is yet to be determined. I haven't seen anything concrete that suggests that Kara is leaving. From what I know is all actors and actresses are staying. But, I know things could change.

Brenda Weber The only two that we know for sure who are staying is Casey and Severide since they signed a 3 year deal to stay on the show. Yet we don’t really know about the rest of the cast, as it looks they are all coming back next season. We just have to wait and see what happens on season 8 premiere.
Brenda Weber I have a feeling that season 8 will open up basically where season 7 left off. Just like how they did with season 3 when Shay died where it shows the aftermath right after and then flashbacks of what happened as well as how everyone is coping with it.

I hope season 8 isnt being set up as a love triangle soap opera thing. In episode 19 when they started setting up Brett and Casey falling in love I wasn't entirely on board, but the writers turned me around by showing why Casey and Brett would see each other in a different light. And I may be in the minority here but I dont think Brett being with Casey is breaking any girl code. They are just two people who have been hurt repeatedly by love and want to be happy. And now this. Not digging this development at all.

For all of you out there talking about brett and casey shouldnt be together because of gabby, Are you people serious? When did gabby ever make casey trully happy? All gabby cared about was her what she wanted, when she wanted it and how she wanted it. Casry bend backwards trying to accomodate her doing everything her way and in the end she still left him , was there a more selfish person on that show than gabby no she was it. Dawson and her independence, she knew nothing about love and sacrifice and casey is way better off. I liked her and the Chaplin when they had just started dating. However, ever since this thing with Casey came about I'm 100% for it. I think the Chaplin just caught her off guard with the proposal and then with it being in front of everyone she just said yes. I pray to God she's not leaving the show cuz that's the only way she would move with him. I think she'll come to realize not just that her feelings for Casey are too strong to ignore but also that she just doesn't wanna marry the Chaplin.

Everyone's face was in shock and surprise. But poor casey witness the person he was starting to fall in love with, ends up wanting to tie the knot with the Chaplin. I can tell by the look on her face, she really isn't all for it. She seemed to hesitate in the beginning, like she not sure about it like she was before. It was Dawson who could not commit to Casey and was always so self-absorbed and independent usually just thought about herself, she rarely discussed with her husband about important things and just did whatever the hell she wanted without even talking to Casey about it. Dawson had always been a selfish & self-centered wife who was better off being single and never get married, she was too independent, it was always me me ME with Dawson. Then she broke Casey's heart and just up and left him and hung him out to dry without even discussing it with him (again). Casey has always been too good for prima donna Dawson anyway. And he wasn't committed to Naomi? The dude literally lost his home because of his relationship with Naomi! Casey deserve better, he deserves a woman who would love him and respect him as a husband, and I think Brett would treat him better than prima donna Dawson ever did.
It's times like this where you wish the bell went off before she answered his question. But I have a feeling (and I could be very wrong) that everybody will survive that fire in the end, and after that, she'll change her mind saying that she doesn't want to leave her crew (and perhaps Casey) behind. I want it to be September 25th right now.
In other news.... YUS to STELLA and KELLY getting back together!!! All the other One Chicago Relationships have pretty much gone bust...
