Kx71 is a great machine but if your looking for more power I would move up to a kx040-4 or KX91-3 or even a KX121-3. The 121 and the 040-4 are almost the same in power wise just the 121 is little smaller of q machine but we have a 040-4 and it's a beast for a mini
Wow! What must that be like...digging out a stump without it filling up with water as you're working. :) Water table is high at my place. I have a U17 so digging up stumps is an adventure, and I get tossed about too like you did a couple of times. I use a 12k winch secured to a nearby tree to assist in pulling stumps out of the hole. That KX40 seems to do a good job of it by itself.
I literally was just thinking, wouldn't it be easier to tip the stump out with the tree still on it? And then here you are, 1st comment! Answers my question.
young man , u are digging closed to the stump / u need find the end of the roots first then dig backward to the stump , u want bounce so must ! then the stump will come out lot easy then for sure !
It's so much easier if you dig the roots a little, push the tree over and then cut the root ball off. The weight of the tree helps get it out.

I lost a tooth digging out a stump and I tried looking for it. Maybe I should buy a metal detector. Have you ever lost a tooth?
I haven't but a metal detector might work I don't think teeth are very expensive usually have them at tractor supply stores.
My friend found it this morning. I should go to tractor supply and pick up a extra one. Thanks for the suggestion!
Great Video!!!!
Have a Kubota KX71. How much more powerful is the 40, any idea? Ever run a 71 before?
Louis P. A lot. I rented a Yanmar vio35 and it’s a real nice machine but I bought a 40 bc it’s a lot stronger

How large in diameter was that tree?
It was a White Pine Tree at the base the diameter was around 20 inches.
anybody think to tell these idoits to leave the stump 10 feet or taller to make the job easier!
@@chrismcrae3665 Can you make a video on how to do it properly? Why don't you have any videos posted?
Chris Mcrae , How does someone cut a tree down 10’ up? Congratulations ,that has to be the dumbest comment on RUclips.
Blake Drury that sound like a really hard math question that will take me one moth to figure it out
good job. I have a 304e2 and was wondering how well that size machine does with stumps
That soil looks amazing :D
It is nice
Your operating sucks, killing that machine
Lol, that cheering sound clip was well placed
👍
I’m on the fence between this and a KX057. Do you regret not getting the bigger machine for jobs like this?
Well this was a rental. In my option though bigger is better.
This is Kubota (Nippon) . Some of CAT engines are Yanmar(Nippon) too . Comprende Senores ?
🤷🏻♂️
This is why KX040 is very in demand by contractors .
👍
Them Kubota Mini excavators are amazing little pieces of equipment. Good work guys....I've watched several of your videos from the past.
Thanks! Thanks for the comment

Yeah size matters for sure
Awesome video 👍
I like the guy standing off to the right with his arms crossed the whole time. Just judging.
Thanks for the comment
Good job.
Thanks!
Next time leave 12 foot of trunk on it while digging.. then use the leverage to uproot it.. set it over and final cut the stump
