  • My Home-Made ripper tooth on a Kubota KX040 Mini Excavator. These 4 trees were leaning towards a pole barn. Also dug a trench for downspout drains.

    I like the kubota's with angle blade. Very nice. I have run a few. U35 & couple U55s. Kubota is very smooth machine. I have run them all. Kubota is one of my top picks.I just purchased a kx41-3v. Bit small. But cheep operation. Looking to work up to something bigger.

    Great job with the ripper, but no chaps, no helmets and no ear protections, long life to you and your guardian angel.

      Yes this was a fun day. I normally don't do stump removal jobs, but I might start now with this new ripper. I am really happy with it!

    I bought a tooth for a box blade. I have a 1ton ht10 mini excavator. I just need to get it fitted to it. It works really well on my subcompact backhoe. I did add 3 layers of 1/4 inch plate steel. And made more like a knife. It will cut more then blunt force. It does work. I bolt to bucket so it will go deeper into the ground.

    I am in process of ordering the ripper and tooth to make a ripper like you’re for my Takeuchi tb250. I see your video was 2 years ago has your ripper held up well?

    • @NealORussa
      @NealORussa  Месяц назад

      @@tonymartin3327 oh yea it's been great! Only problem is the spikes on the back are all bent up. The spikes are great and help push trees and give leverage when prying. But my 3/8" plate teeth bent back when prying roots. Just make the main thick plate extend out more out the back instead.

    Very neat and educational Neal. By any chance have you made a video on how you made the root ripper? I have a K7461 rake bucket I use on my Kubota U35-4 but it looked like the root ripper is a better tool. Thank you for the great video.

    Does the ground freeze so hard you can't dig for some portion of the winter ?

    • @NealORussa
      @NealORussa  2 года назад

      No I wouldn't say the ground usually freezes that hard here in Kentucky. Maybe harder digging, but not unable to dig.

      Yes sir it was a bit, but at the same time I sold my kx71-3 excavator, kx161-3ss excavator, pt30 track loader and my smaller pj trailer. So I actually came out about even with everything. Where are you based out of?

    Will a KX 040 fit on 14ft dump trailer?

    • @NealORussa
      @NealORussa  2 года назад

      I have a 14' dump trailer and I used to haul a kx71-3 in it. I haven't tried to put my kx040 in it. It would probably fit but I'm not sure it would be positioned very well over the axles. I think it would either have way to much tongue weight if you put the boom towards the back and not enough tongue weight if boom stayed forward. You could probably swing the boom and turn the house a bit and maybe get comfortable.

    What boots are those your wearing?

    • @NealORussa
      @NealORussa  2 года назад +1

      Hey thanks for the question! They're a little expensive but they are Justin Commander X-5. They are waterproof, steel toe, lace up tight for support and pretty comfortable. Link to them here amzn.to/3zwNXAS

    • @NealORussa
      @NealORussa  2 года назад +1

      And when I'm not wearing lace ups I wear Justin stampede steel toe. I have had 3 sets of these boots and they are great. They are what I'm wearing in the majority of my videos. Link to them here amzn.to/3oSsfTk
