This is a great tutorial! Thank you so much! Now I know why I was loosing my maps sometimes. FYI, While playing around on my iphone to use the functionalities you’ve shared, I realized that you CAN create maps on your iphone. It works if you’re going through the Google APP. 1. Once in Google App, make sure you’re logged in. 2.Type My Maps in the search bar. 3. Click on search result ‘Google Maps’, it’ll list your ‘Owned’ maps. 4. Click the red + button and the rest works like you showed. It’s more cumbersome since your working with a small screen but you can do it there if you don’t have access to a computer. Thanks again, I’m so thrilled that I now know how to use My Maps to it’s full potential, I’m a happy camper😁
You really are wicked smart, and a good teacher too. I will have to watch this a couple of times to get it all, it’s so full of info and possibility. Thanks much.
Super helpful! In fact, this solved a problem my boss asked me to work on for him a couple of weeks ago that has NOTHING to do with RVing! Who knew?? Your reach goes well beyond the RV community and from one ex-military couple to another, thank you so much.
Thanks so much! You’re a very good instructor 👍 my husband retired after 37 years as a welding professional, now working on his second career working with OTR trucking...I’ll send this wonderful video you made for him to consider working on as he enjoys projects :-)
I watched this and took notes. Now I've watched a second time while at my computer and have actually added a couple of places to my new "Things we want to see" map. I am SO excited to now be able to transfer the spreadsheet I have been adding to for years. So much easier. Thank you so much for teaching this old dog a very cool new trick!!
I didn't know any of this, so thank you so much! I especially love the Bucket List idea since we'll start seeing the country next year. The more organized I am, the calmer my brain becomes, and I can then relax and enjoy the ride.
Thank you so much for this!!!! I've used TripAdvisor to plan my future RV trips and now I can plot them on a map! My new tiny home on wheels will be delivered Monday!!!!
I am so excited about this opportunity. I have created a spread sheet of places I want to go along with the average daily temperatures. I will start van life in 2 months and want to make sure I can sleep at night (no AC☹️). I will colorcode my map by season so I can see where to be spring through winter. So excited to try this out. Love you two.. thanks so much.
Thank you for being Wicked Smart! Your tutorial on RV Wizard is better than the tutorial provided by RV Wizard. This Google Map Tutorial is flawless. There is another RUclipsr who charges for her videos on tutorials. Thank you for saving us $$$. We love you and Phil. Our launch date is in 2022 and you are helping to prepare us for our Someday. Thank you again for sharing your talents. Sincerely, Nancy and Tom
I am currently taking a course on Geographical Information Systems, where you use maps to convey data, and this video was great. Thanks for doing it and spreading the fun of using digital maps. Cheers.
A thousand thanks for posting this. We are 50 weeks from full time RVing! WooHoo can’t wait! We also use FamCamps and just as a side note want let you know that the one at Seal Beach in California is real nice. Pricey ($44), but nice for a quick stop if you’re in Cali. Not much of an Exchange, but it’s undergoing a remodel or something right now. Love, love, love your channel because my hubby is Army DAV. Thank you both for your service to our country. Maybe someday we’ll see you on the road!
I fully realize I have teased you (a little) about your height. After this video, that stops NOW. Kudu's to you. One of your best video's ever. PERIOD. :)
Thank you for a great video! I'm currently watching it but I know once we start camping again I will have to reference this training video. It is saved!!
Thank you so much for this video! I can’t wait to make My Maps. We are part time RVers right now and started out 2 years ago. We are planning on full time within the next year. This an absolute must for me. I have an alphabetical note book by State with handwritten places to see when we start full time. Also have a notebook with by dates the places we have been and information on each campground and attractions we visited! This is going to be so much easier!!! Thank you again! I am a subscriber to your channel and really enjoy your content. I wish I could have met up with you at the Tampa Super Show this year, but I could only attend on Wednesday.. Happy Trails and stay safe!
Perfect. Just what I needed! I've been creating a travel bucket list by putting locations/parks! etc., that folks I follow went to, that I want to experience also, as a text list in Color Note. Figured I'd go thru it and map everything to decide my route. This works perfect. Thanks for the excellent instructions!
Thank you! I’ve used Google Maps a bit in the past but clearly fumbled through what I was doing. This was very easy to follow and I learned a lot. Excellent job!
Good Morning Y'all ☕️! I've been using this Google feature for a while but you've created a great tutorial I'm positive will come in handy for others just learning of this handy tool. Happy Camping and Safe Travels!
Useful and informative. I didn't know about the layers feature, so thanks, Stacy! And timely, too: we're in dry camp at Mcdill as we're watching this. Sorry we missed you.
Awesome info - never knew this existed! Devil’s Den is spectacular - only 3 miles from our house! That’s the first place we camped when we got our new RV and we’re waiting to get our license plates transferred - all back roads to avoid getting stopped - lol 😆 Thanks for sharing this info. See you at the Rally next week!
Love this!....it will be a handful of years before we hit the road. However, I am starting to compile places where we might like to visit whether it's parks, attractions, restaurants, even RV places to stay. People who travel give us recommendations as well as just seeing cool places on RUclips or reading about them. This is perfect to be able to create our bucket list. I have a feeling our list is going to be huge...... there is a danger in that too! LOL.
Hi Stacy, great video. I definitely have locations written down on paper. So now I am going to use the google map instead. Thanks so much and hi to Phil.
Great video on the Google Map features Stacy! Will definitely upgrade our past destinations and future ones on here this afternoon. Hope to see you on the road one day. We are in sunny Arizona right now!
Thank you so much! This is going to make things much easier for trip planning, bucket listing, recording places visited and making it much easier for me to navigate on our family adventures!
This is fascinating! Wow so glad you showed us. I currently use RV Parky rip planner and before that we used Good Sam's trip planner but this google create your own map can be sooo much more. I see it being an excellent Bucket List archive that we could keep adding to and retrieve on any trip to see if we're close to something we thought we'd like to do. I keep saving things from people and proceed to forget them or not remember where they are saved. LOL. Never mind remembering the location. (as we pass unknowingly by). Thanks thanks thanks! 🇨🇦
One of your best. Pat is sick in bed today and i was wondering what I was going to do as we are holed up in nothing to do, nowhere Deming NM. So you have given me a project to keep me busy today...Thanks!
Thanks Stacy, this is so helpful!!! I am not very savy on the computer. As soon as I watched this I started my own map. I have been building a list on paper for a long time of places we want to go to so this will be a much better way to do that! You broke it down into very easy steps.
Very nicely done. You are definitely getting good at these vlogs. Check your first vlog and compare to this one and you should be proud of the polish and confidence gained over such a short time. Thanks from another husband and wife vets.
Thanks for sharing this. I've seen other channels cover this topic to some extent but you were more detailed in your presentation (and easier to follow). I've downloaded this as a video to my hard drive and saved the link to your original video here for future reference. Safe travels!! :)
That is one of the most informative and useful information in a single video that I have ever seen. I had no idea that capability was available! I am so appreciative for the information. I would name our next born daughter after you but, unfortunately, since my wife and I are in our 70's, that may not happen. :)
Omg, THANK YOU!!! We figured there was a way to do this but hadn’t yet taken the time to figure it out ... and, voila! Currently in AZ, I’m about to start the heavy work of planning our 2020 (FT) journey - Destination: Acadia! Thank you, you rock!
Philip Crabill But just a note - you have to find a spot, hit Save, and then you can create a list. I didn’t see “Create a Map” though. Am I just not seeing it?
Stacy, excellent tutorial. Although Google gives you a ton of icons to use to mark you locations you can also add custom icons. I grabbed the NPS logo from Google Images and use that to mark all the NPS sites we visit. I also have icons for Harvest Hosts, COE campgrounds and Military FAMCAMPS. You just need to save the graphic to your computer then click on the little paint bucket, then More Icons and then Custom Icon. You upload it once and then it will be available for any location within that map. Keep up the good work.
Thanks Stacy! Your tutorial was so helpful! Now I have a way to keep track of my "bucket list" locations, instead of the "old school" notebook method. We really enjoy following you and Phil on your You-tube channel...hope our paths cross someday on the road.
I have done software training for the last 20 years and you just did a really GREAT job of this. Thank you!
Thanks so much!! Let me know if you have an opening!! lol

Thanks. I hope it helps.
Google already know where we go, why make it easier? Make them work for it. Thanks for sharing... you really do a good job for all of us.
I used the saved places before we went to New York. So we would go to an area and then see what of our items we where close to. Awesome! thanks
Super helpful! In fact, this solved a problem my boss asked me to work on for him a couple of weeks ago that has NOTHING to do with RVing! Who knew?? Your reach goes well beyond the RV community and from one ex-military couple to another, thank you so much.

You are too kind Nancy! Glad they will work for you. 2022 will be here before you know it.
This is a great way for multiple people to plan trips together, different layers for each picks
Holy open tabs, batman. Great video from what I managed to catch. I was mentally trying to close tabs the entire video. 🤣
I always have a ton of tabs open. I call it multitasking! It drives Phil crazy.
I am currently taking a course on Geographical Information Systems, where you use maps to convey data, and this video was great. Thanks for doing it and spreading the fun of using digital maps. Cheers.

Thank you for your service! We can't wait to get to Cali. Those 50 weeks will fly by!! Congrats and good luck!
Hell of a tip! We are doing the old note book technique. We can now transfer the info to the map! Awesome 👍
It is so much easier than the old school method. Enjoy!
WOW!!! Great Video!! Easy to follow too. Can hardly wait to get my map going. Thanks for sharing. Safe Travels
Excellent presentation Stacy! Thanks!
I had no idea you could do all that with Google Maps. Thank you so much.
Fantastic! I have been using Google Maps for years but never did the deep dive to figure out all the ways I could be more efficient with it.
This is awesome. I am a big Google Maps fan, but didn't realize all of this functionality. Huge thanks.
Welcome!
Wow this is wonderful. Thanks for explaining and sharing it. We have so much at our fingertips we don’t even know about. But we know this now. Thanks
Wow, this was a great video! You are a very good teacher. I can hardly wait to give it a try. Thanks so much for sharing.
Y'all are wicked smart, and you also taught me that the bookmark bar descriptions are editable, thanks again!
Thanks Amble!
I never knew you could do this. Awesome info and easy to follow. Thank you!

The funny thing is once you hit the road it wont get shorter! I will continue to grow. The more places you visit the more you want to visit.
Thank you so much. I’m going to try this. Not very tech savvy but.... lol. I stopped and made notes as you went on.
You can do it!
Great video! I made my first map following your instructions! I will keep playing with this...awesome!
Awesome!
This is so helpful! I have been keeping notes for new places and keep saying I need to put our "where we've been" list together.
Hi Stacy, great video. I definitely have locations written down on paper. So now I am going to use the google map instead. Thanks so much and hi to Phil.

That is one of the most informative and useful information in a single video that I have ever seen. I had no idea that capability was available! I am so appreciative for the information. Awesome! Thanks for letting me know.
Philip Crabill But just a note - you have to find a spot, hit Save, and then you can create a list. I didn’t see “Create a Map” though. Am I just not seeing it?
Jody's Journey you must not see it. I was able to add to your places or 2 others one was places I want to go.
Thanks for the great tutorial.
Finally a feature in Google Maps I can see us using. Thanks for sharing!
You are very welcome! Enjoy

HOLY CRAP! This is a phenomenal tool! Thank you!!!!

Really great info!! Thank you for sharing. :-)
Thanks Stacy! Your tutorial was so helpful! Now I have a way to keep track of my "bucket list" locations, instead of the "old school" notebook method. We really enjoy following you and Phil on your You-tube channel...hope our paths cross someday on the road.
So glad I could help!
Great video! I am going to check that out 😊
Love this! I've been trying to use a journal but I can't keep u so I will definitely be going back through all our trips and doing this! Thanks!
