The photos of Jaco, of which I've never seen before, are wonderful with the music. Great job!
Mr Jankeje. Thank you so much for putting this on youtube for the public to view. This song is amazing.
quand on est allé jusque là.....il faut réussir à inventer la longue vie qui vient après. Merci beaucoup Bireli de continuer !!!!
I hope more people can watch this. Thanks for sharing
I feel much better for having heard this.
Thanks!
Fantastic version, which is on the LP "Broadway Blues".
Aplause.....for the different tone of reggae......
Ma che bello!!! Grazie infinite per averlo condiviso.

Dear Jan, in concert Jaco and Bireli and Rezzato Italy 86 You give me a photo of Jaco that he autographed for me. I was with Teresa Nagel. MTC Theatre dressing room. I have with me this entire concert recorded in mp3. A big hug from Brazil. Thanks for everything Jan. friend (By this time I was a child was 13 years old) Jan Jankeje
Mr. Jankeje, I gotta ask, how was it like to work with Jaco?
Does not sound like Bireli
@@benjamincouder1811 Maybe because Bireli was very young at this time ?
@@bjrnwinnss4521 listening to it now it does sound like Bullock I would say.. I maintain not Bireli .. Just my opinion
Alors là bravo ! Michto pelo !!!
Thanks Mr. Jan
IS JACO SLAP THE BASS IN THE INTRO!?
ahhh just what I needs
Bravo!
jaco maestro
I agree with an older comment that the recording sounds like Mike Stern on the Guitar! Bireli is amazing on the Guitar. Jaco is the one and only. No one before, no one after.
Hai ragione, nessuno mai! ♥️ forever Jaco!
I do hear Scofield tough...
exceptional guitar! And as usual, wonderful tone from Jaco, and crazy-good fills. But does he even understand the basics of Reggae bass? Or does he just not care?
there are only bases for nothing
@@entengasse ?
@@martian9999 Jaco was at a level where he didn't care about "basics." He played what he felt. He was the embodiment of jazz. It's all about feel. Also, his style was really diverse anyways, so I think what he was playing was great.
Oh, Pastorius understands the basics of reggae bass, AND he just doesn’t care! If your idea of practice is playing Bach on a cello, you can do these things, three at a time. All these years and I still miss him…
thanks a lot for that pearl
Wow
very very good.................................................
its April 2019 and i just found this....i'm a big jaco fan, how did you now google?
ca c est de la vrai musique!
Is Jaco slapping wtf
I guess he's just plucking real hard
just goes to show how far his demons could take him ;)
Yeah, it seems like it. Jaco once told Marcus Miller that he knew how to slap but that he didn't really like it. But I'm sure that Jaco was also a monster at slapping, shame we only got the first few seconds of this track as any recording available of him using that technique
Sorry but I highly doubt jaco was a "monster at slapping"...if that was the case im sure he would have showcased that aspect of his playing in certain places but he never did, nor did he need to, of course.
Also, ive seen the interview that your probably referring to with marcus saying that jaco told him he could slap but chooses not to, & im pretty sure jaco was being totally sarcastic! Just sayin.
HELLO SIR! YOU ACTUALLY WROTE THIS HUH? HOW DID YOU KNOW THOSE GUYS? YOU'RE SO LUCKY!
AND VERY KIND TO POST THIS!
THAT BIRELI KID WAS,AND IS FANTASTIC! SUCH A GREAT, ACCOMPLISHED PLAYER FOR SUCH A YOUNG CAT! ANY IDEA HOW OLD HE WAS IN 1985? I WAS ON TOUR WITH ROGER WHITTAKER AND 20 YRS OLD IN 1985, I THOUGHT I WAS A PRETTY GOOD GUITAR PLAYER,BUT I THINK I'M MUCH BETTER NOW, AND STILL I FEEL LIKE I'M JUST A BEGINNER,WHEN I HEAR THE PRODIGIES! I COULD EASILY BE THE DRUMMER IN THIS TRIO,HOWEVER! THAT GUY'S ADEQUATE, LUBKE, DON'T GET ME WRONG!
The Pastorius Bireli connection
Where could I get this recording on vinyl?😮
Never saw him playing a 70’s Jazz Bass. Was it borrowed?
Jaco Reggae.

@@entengasse thank you, I have been listening to the acoustic version a lot in the past, brings back memories. I was expecting to find it on the Bireli swing '81 album, and was surprised not to find it. Dont know where I know this version from (I dont know the movie). I like the reggae version too
Que buena música csm
it sounds more like mike stern on the guitar??
Nick Costa me too 😂😂😂😂
TheOliverKraft i agree
Jaco....!!!!&@

Голосочка бобо денежки тюлю
nice recording but are you sure this is Jaco? It doesn't sound like him to me.
sounds like him to me.
funny
EXTREMELY RARE RECORDING...NEVER HEARD OF IT...I THINK IT'S PRE WEATHER REPORT GENRE & ERA...
DISMISSED375 actually post Weather Report since it says 1985... this was already from the time Jaco's problems were at an all time high
Scofield sound
1:42 devil
+Escondidas Finn lol
bass tab please thx
non sono loro!NO BIRELI,NO JACO!
Yes they are..I know it well!!
Watta shame ! sounds like a garage band who hust discovered hendrix...
fuck you frankipooh , you piece of trash
Frankipooh it's funny because Jaco is the Hendrix of the bass 😂😂😂😂
I have to agree this doesn't cut it at all. It doesn't come close to Jaco's standard excellence.
Yes with your sister.
guitar tone is aweful
