Actually you can do real-time both normal and translated captions easily using Speech Translator browser extension (as an alternative option).

I wonder if you could set this up with a Google pixel phone, they seem miles ahead of other things in speech recognition.

Works with all languages
It's not letting me use it at all, it's saying "CC IS OFF" and I don't know how to fix that issue
OBS is picking up my microphone, but no text is popping up regardless of what i do.
I had the same and all other caption plugins also did not work.

i dont understand why docks isnt showing captions option. the version your on in this video is 28 and its currently 29 now. it just doesnt give me those options
If you are still looking with the updates it should be under the Tools menu now
Is there a way to make it so the speech bubble pops up only when captions are being displayed?
I’m not sure, but when you’re setting up sources in OBS most have an option called something like “hide source while inactive”. That might achieve your goal.

Chears mate nice video. Now i just need to be able to use it in live chat (with a toggle button on the streamdeck). That way i can have a delay to avoid stream killers and still be live in chat.

Hey, I was wondering if there's a way to make it so the text doesn't start off as huge? I'd like to to start from the top left but be the normal size when speaking instead of it starting off as one huge word and slowly getting smaller the more I speak.

I dropped it into my obs folder but I don't see the option for caption under docks
I was thinking is there a way to have the text colour change depending on its background (of a display capture for example) this would be helpful for things like chat boxes so people don't have to add those awkward translucent black boxes behind white chat messages and instead the text can change from white to black (or any colour) to contrast the background
poorly written I know but I thought Joe is the OBS guy so I would ask you 😄
This can be done with a source mirror of the display to pull a colour.
Then add a dynamic mask to it that links to the text :)

I'm so confused..what and where am I dragging and dropped and my obs does not have captions or many of yours under Docks. Im using OBS 29.1.3 if that helps

Okay so now people can "hear" me talking when streaming.. but now I have to make my computer somehow hear me, because captions are only seeing words ingame n stuff..
What if I want to translate it to other languages?

Hello, I have the following two questions.
One has to do with subtitles. They look mirror-like to me, I don't know for what reason. How can I fix this?
The second is about the microphone.
I conduct interviews online and it is good to have a transcript of the conversation. The problem is that this only works for one source. That is, either for a window where the guest is, or for my microphone. But I can't record both sources.
I have updated the OBS version to the latest possible for Window.
And a bonus question!!!
Is it possible to make the subtitles translate to another language during the stream?

hi, how do I add a feature to the OBS so that during the stream, the words spoken by the streamer are translated in real time from Russian to English as text somewhere on the screen. How are subtitles on RUclips for example? Is this possible?

Here's one that you need to solve: The one thing people are not doing is creating an AI that reads youtube transcripts (or subtitles). I want to watch youtube videos in other languages and not have to read subtitles. I want the subtitles to be an AI voice. If you can solve this issue, please do--- because it's not out there yet, it seems. All the tools are already available. RUclips can already auto translate into any language. And we already have text to speech available. We just need a way to get the text to speech to read either the transcript (at the side bar)-- or read the subtitles box onscreen.

Well, it's most of the times garbage to me. Sometimes, doesn't get the words right, sometimes doesn't even react to speech.
You can train your pc to better pick up your specific voice through windows voice accessibility settings.

@@JoeHickson So is it needed to switch on win voice speech recognition or it the plugn standalone. I used this plugin but did work, no txt when I speak. Tried other plugins the same result not text on screen.
