- The Town of Callington lies approximately 14.5 miles North West of Plymouth and is in the East Cornwall district. A market Town with an ancient history, some good pubs, The Bulls Head and The Cornish Ancestor being amongst the best, the later being a new micro pub with excellent real ales and cider.
The 8 bells were re-cast by John Taylor of Loughborough in 1974 and are hung in a cast iron frame for 8. The bells are lovely sounding but are somewhat odd struck, especially around the front end. in this video we can hear the back 6 being rung to some Devon Call changes.
Tenor 12-3-8 in G.
Ryan, nice striking pleasure to listen to.
Thanks for the kind comment, Bob
@@ryantrout6094 could you make a video of all 8?
Lovely sounding peal of bells especially as the back 6. Lovely striking as always, will look forward to hearing your peal at Kentisbeare on Saturday 👍
I'm hoping we can re-create something like this on Saturday, but who knows, up against lots of good teams and although Kentisbeare are nice, they will pose problems
@ryantrout6094 Kentisbeare are nice bells mind but I have had a few problems with them myself. Still, best tower picked for a final for a while.
@@ryantrout6094Will you upload your Kentisbeare video?
@DevonRingerEwan yes, I will be, just haven't had much time recently
Lovely little 8 they are!!!!!
Lovely ringing and bells. What is making that thumping noise? Not that it spoiled your beautiful ringing, it rather added to the rhythm!
We thought it was one of the ropes knocking on the guide or on a flapper board perhaps
Hi. I hope Roger is OK? Haven't seen him for a while 😊
Dad is fine, but has stepped aside this year
