Thank you - yes, it isn't usually strenuous (unless the bells are a particularly big or difficult ring), but it is good upper-body exercise, and uses muscles one wouldn't normally use otherwise. More than that, it is a good mental exercise (remembering the patterns and keeping concentration), and develops co-ordination (such as when to catch the sally - the fluffy bit - and when to pull your bell so it rings in exactly the right place).
These sound like fantastic bells to ring!!

And no doubt those wicked wicked unruly secular ringers spent many hours getting totally TARSED at a place similar to the Gluepot.
