When you dip the braids in hot water, how do you know where to stop for the real hair not to get scorched?
I know where their real hair stops when I braid it. but even if the hot water touched it, I’d be more concerned about it frizzing than burning. Hot water is wayyyyy cooler than a blow dryer or flat iron. You don’t have to worry about scorching it from that.

I think it's a good job, just too much product...
I agree it looks great. I do although want to share as a fellow braider and my own opinion as well it seems like a lot and it technically is “a lot of product”. But It’s totally necessary and worth it for the results you get especially considering the clients texture, thickness, and longevity of the style you want it to have. Otherwise too little or slightly less product could alter the results and the roots to become wavy instead of sleek like hers. It’s those subtle details that differentiates a good stylist and a great one 🤗
Thanks for clearing that up, perfectly. It’s pretty much impossible to get the sleek look that they’re going for with out either using heat or that much product. & I like to smooth the product down the hair strand so it lasts even longer. to each it’s own though. If a client wanted little/no product, I’d definitely do it. I’d just let them know up front that it wouldn’t last or be slick.
Nice! For the length of time it took you it would be nice next time to see the end results a little longer than a few seconds. I had to rewind a couple of times. Otherwise, a very nice job!
