The cleaner the part the better it looks. You can braid like crap but if that part is clean it looks beautiful. Braids always look better when done with oil or gel or amix of both

Girl ...you have blessed hands with those pristine braids. I will barely let anyone touch my hair bevause it never comes out like that. I can't describe how some people's braiding technique makes my hair look,but the form is different. I never like it unless the braids are jumbo. I always let this Ethipian lady do it. She too, has blessed hands, but I think black americans and west Africans braid differently from East/North East Africans, because I can't figure out why my braids appear different when she does them. I never seem to like how my style looks. She does an excellent job though. So I just go with it.
