  • So I finally got around to installing the 300cc big Bore kit onto my Kayo K6-R...this takes it from a 250cc bike to a 300cc (298 honestly)...this is the video of riding once I sorted out the carb and my air intake boot that kept falling of because I had it turned the wrong way around...anyway the biggest observation I noticed was way better throttle response and more low end torque. If you are planning on trying this ..let me recommend getting your parts from GPX in Utah...ask for Joe Henner and tell him Dave sent you.

Dave , nice video, I enjoy your commentary, myself as an older rider to ( 55 years young ) I run a 23 ktm sx 250 , and a 92 ktm mx 500 2 strokes plus others lol , I am going 350 gasgas stroker for 2024 season , I'm just curious about why you chose a Kayo ? Finding it quite fascinating about the upgrades etc !!! Glad I'm not alone at this age !! This winter my 250 will be converted to spring/oil ( x act air wp now ) and my 500 has been set up with 50 mm conventional magnums !! Great content Dave 👌

@mikehudg2209 I chose Kayo because of cost and I knew it was a little tamer power wise....I like to tinker and work on them...do it fit the bill...I also had ridden a CRF450R after not riding for 18 yrs after a torn ACL ended my racing....I started back with an Air-cooled China bike...got a Great Deal on this...and have been doing mods and enjoying it for nearly 2 years...but I feel a new project may be in the works.

    Cool that you're doing mods!
I just found a MX track 15 minutes from my house. Tried is last Saturday, but my GoPro overheated, so didn't get much footage. I'll give it another try tomorrow with a better battery in the GoPro. Keep it up!

Hey Dave, just making sure that the “bulge” you are talking about in the groove for the oil ring wasn’t the alignment pin used to make sure that the openings for both rings are offset.

Nope.it was a casting error..the top of the groove dropped down and the 3 rings would not go in...once I ground it even I had no problems...Thanks 👍
