    So many people hate hollow handles but honestly this knife is a great survival knife, I’ve used mine for bushcraft/hunting trips along with camp chores and it does well. Mine serves me well, and has saved me a couple times.

      @@Ilovebigbassandicannotlie Exactly. The problem is that most people only know hollow handles from the late seventies, and throughout the eighties. they were cheap China made pieces of crap

    I scored one of these based on a "BlackScoutSurvival" review. As far was as I know, Jack owns an ACTUAL Newt Martin-built "survival" knife. After acquiring the Boker, I was so impressed with it that I opted to use and beat on it like one of my TOPS 107s. Man, I've beaten the absolute SH!T outta' this knife and have NEVER been disappointed. This hollow-handled knife is ICONIC, and VERY TOUGH. My "user" is still tight as a bass drum and showing almost ZERO signs of hard use. My take on this particular knife is that Newt (*RIP) had a great deal of oversight in its production, before he passed. I feel BLESSED that I have my regular user and another one, "NIB". Great review...and Thank You for paying tribute to a STELLAR "survival" knife.

    I have one of these too and I love mine. I got mine on a clearance sale and paid less than half of its original price. It is one badass knife, and it is heavy but it's tough as any full tang I own. Very cool video brother.

    When it comes to hollow handles knives Aitor or Boker plus apparo are the best if you are looking for quality, durability and reliability at a decent price for what you are getting. Great video.

    I'm glad you're keeping it bro, I took your Schrade SCHF1, so it's fitting. I never used that Aparro, so the edge was 100% original. I'm not gonna lie though, I beat the crap out of the Schrade.

    Still dont understand why knifemakers do not put the strap on the other side so it will not be cut-will they ever get it donnie????

    • @DonnieBAllDay
      @DonnieBAllDay  8 месяцев назад

      this strap is spine side. For many it comes down to nothing to grab on the spine side and how the strap works for left vs right handed users

      its one of those, honor to own knives

  • @onesky8647
    @onesky8647 8 месяцев назад +1

    The biggest criticism raised at this type of knife was for the longest time their build quality. Someone made a better one that probably didn’t sell well due to the overall bad reputation and Boker discontinued the design. This is why we can’t have nice things.

    • @DonnieBAllDay
      @DonnieBAllDay  8 месяцев назад +1

      The Lile and Crain knives are built the same way and sold by the thousands. If this knife had as much recognition, they'd still be making them
