Amazon is "one of the only" fairy pieces that can checkmate the king by it ownself. There is some more is the Archbishop, and that means also the Dragon bishop too, but checkmate with 2 of them would be hard because it can only be in the corner, and amazon can do it everywhere. And the chancellor(rook and knight), general(king and knight), the longer knight, and the longer knight plus the knight, and all the infinite piece can only checkmate it in the situation which the king is trapped by its own pieces(smothered mate)
Most pieces can pull off a smothered mate. Archbishop could checkmate king if it is in the corner and it travels to the square 3 squares away from the corner, the king will be mated. Archbishop can’t mate if king is in open board in the middle. Amazon I’m pretty sure is the only piece that can mate a king, both pieces not beside any edge and the Amazon is alone.
@@ElektroMagnetizm yeah true, but archbishop and dragon bishop can also checkmate the king by it ownself if the king made some blunder or mistakes

There are every hybrid pieces but won’t it be cool if bishop and rook combined 😄

Only amazon can checkmate a king? you're wrong. There is other piece can checkmate a king, the archishop.
I don’t see how a lone archbishop could checkmate a king. Can you explain? I might be wrong :/ if there is a piece called the ‘a r c h i s h o p’ then idk what it is.
@@ElektroMagnetizm I made a little mistake "archbishop" not archishop. Archbishop can checkmate a king. when king is top of the board left or right to be checkmated.

@@mirciefova9927 it can only checkmate king if it is in a specific situation. Amazon can start anywhere with the king placed anywhere on an open board and it can checkmate it

There are advanced pawns which are weaker versions of the piece behind it and promote to that piece and one of them is the ferz
This video (along with the “dragon knight” video) have both been very helpful! Most of my friends aren’t that into chess, so I don’t have many opportunities to test the movement of these pieces myself. Now I can build custom positions with these pieces. 10/10 video!

You’ll have to go to a variant with a large board size such as XXL Chess (I think that’s what it’s called I can’t remember it off the top of my head)

I think you can only do that in 4 players, but there should be a way to do it in the customization.
