Cage/Schaff is what a big guy/power match should look like. Cage putting over the local talent with a great back and forth match. That's a good way to start out elevation. I'll take more of this.

Cage vs Schaff was one of the best surprises in a while. "Already in the ring...." = stomp 95/100 times. This was a quality match. Solid work boys.

Or it's possible, that based on how the other shows were booked at the same taping, the decision was made so that Claudio didn't have to work matches so close together or amongst a visually thinning crowd. AEW Dark sometimes happens after Dynamite/Rampage and an additional Dark taping, that's about 5 hours of wrestling getting done at around 10/11pm. People are tired and have/want to go home.

I was at this show! It was a great crowd, great atmosphere. Obviously Darby winning the TNT belt on Dynamite was the highlight of the night, but the Elevation matches were tons of fun too. The Bollywood/Kingdom match actually went on first, but other than that these matches are all in the order they happened. The first two were before Dynamite, the other nine came after.
The match between Best Friends and Luther/Serpentico ended with an Orange Cassidy appearance, at which point Chuckie T and Trent left the ring. I thought maybe that would be part of the show, since it's a storyline that's been on TV. After that happened, Kip Sabian, The Butcher, and The Blade came out and surrounded the ring with Orange and Danhausen in it, until Tony Khan came out and said "Nah nah nah we're saving this match for Friday in Portland." That part certainly wasn't gonna be on a show that didn't hit RUclips till Monday! At the end, Orange and Danhausen hugged it out, since as Orange put it, "I usually hug my friends, but my friends left" along with Bryce Remsburg, who put on Danhausen's mumu and hat 😂 It was apparently Bryce's birthday as well.

SCAFF IS NEXT LEVEL AND HAS BEEN SLEPT ON FOR FAR TOO LONG
I won't disagree. However, there are a bunch of other unsigned guys out there I can say the same thing about. Check out my boy former FSW Champion Joe Graves. He's had incredible matches with Timothy Thatcher. His best friend Alexander Hammerstone, Jeff Cobb, "Filthy" Tom Lawlor and the list goes on and on. Graves should have been signed to a major promotion years ago. Former World Champion in Brazilain Ju-Jitsu. I'm happy that Schaff finally got an opportunity. Graves is long overdue. I'm still waiting for "Savage weight" Fred Yehi to debut on Dark or Dark Elevation.
Cage is awesome. He doesn't squash the local talent. He also tapped him after the match with respect. I hope TK give Cage more champ opportunities.

Schaff and Brian Cage have wrestled before in Defy. I'd like to see Joe Graves, Kevin Blackwood and Fred Yehi get a debut match like this where both are able to show they can hang with anybody. "Hot Sauce" Tracy Williams too. Although Tracy did have a good showing against Brian Cage back in July. Have been watching for Rust Taylor (Taylor Rust) and haven't seen him in months. Rust and Williams would be a great Tag team. Both should challenge for the ROH Pure Championship along with Yehi.

Very good episode of Elevation. Mostly entertaining matches, storylines being developed which gives wrestlers something to do. Every wrestler on the roster is important if they're not working a program at the moment on Dynamite or Rampage then have then work a storyline, start a feud, or work a good fun match on Elevation or Dark. Anything is better than only having squash matches. Hopefully this can be what Elevation/Dark becomes in 2023.

Tony Nese is a charisma vacuum. I didn't even want to boo him, he just doesn't make me feel anything. Haven't seen enough of Woods (and certainly not enough of him separate from Nese) to know how I'd like him as a single.

Can you explain who they are, what they are about?
Honestly, attending the show, that was one of the only down points for me. I thought they looked pretty inconsistent with what I was expecting. They 100% worked face for the match (Brody even came out the "good guy" door), and they had a highly competitive match with three dudes who never make TV. They've been positioned for a "declaring war on AEW" storyline on TV, and if that means that they take out *everybody*, face or heel, then that could work. Haven't really gotten that sense though and it still makes three dudes with no credibility giving them a highly competitive match a bit of a head scratcher.

It's the same problem I used to have with Adam Cole: he was positioned as a main event guy before the injury, yet he kept having competitive matches even with jobbers and low-midcarders. But at least he had the excuse of being a cowardly heel, while HoB should just be unstoppable monsters.
Going to miss the dueling tunnels, it was iconic during the no crowd shows we got in the midst of lockdown

Fantastic episode. Possibly my favourite ever of Elevation. Hot crowd, matches given time, local guys got to do their thing which made for better matches. Some good backstage promos and I’m really loving the chemistry Big Show and Daddy Magic have on commentary.
Schaff impressed me and I’d expect him to get another look in the future!

Honestly Josh Woods or "Hot Sauce" Tracy Williams in Black Pool Combat Club makes way more sense than Wheeler Yuta as a member. I like Josh, but have always been a bigger fan of Hot Sauce. Not many guys are going to just out wrestle him. That's why Tracy was part of "The Foundation" in ROH. Williams challenging Yuta for the Pure title needs to happen.

I want to see Claudio or Yuta defend against "Hot Sauce" Tracy Williams. Give him 20-25 minutes and "Hot Sauce" can work a classic with either of them. I think that Tony Deppen would be a great opponent for the Pure title too. It's just that Williams and Yuta have so much history.

This was an amazing episode. Cage vs Schaff was great, Schaff looked like a star in there, and i never even heard of him. Bollywood Boys vs Kingdom was amazing. HoB...i mean? its the House of Black, they are always awesome (give them all the belts please). I always love Claudio...this was just all round amazing episode.

Claudio said on Fightful that he wanted to defend the ROH title against a bunch of guys that have never had a World Championship shot before. If that goes for the old ROH roster I hope that includes people like "Hot Sauce" Tracy Williams, Rhett Titus, Mark Haskins, Fred Yehi, Flamita, Tony Deppen and Rust Taylor among others. All of these guys except for maybe Flamita could potentially challenge for the ROH Pure Title too. Only Yehi has previously wrestled for that Championship after winning the Pure Gauntlet over Wheeler Yuta. And don't laugh, but Mike Bennett was also very impressive in the ROH Pure Division. Challenged Gresham for the belt in Mid 2021.
