Santa Clarita Diet! This role is so different to her other roles. She is absolutely amazing in it. I highly recommend it if you haven't seen it.
This woman was addicted to alcohol and cocaine by the time she was nine years old, ended up in rehab and attempted
su icide at 14. The fact that she emerged from her upbringing this sweet and normal and stable is just mind blowing to me. An amazing woman

I am old enough that Drew is what I still think of when someone says " America's Sweetheart " that being said, this episode was a little disappointing for me. The best ones are where the guests actually open up and are more themselves than they would normally be because this format is so unusual to what they are used to. Unfortunately, this was not one is not one of those. She most certainty didn't film herself in different angles. She has a team that set it up and filmed it. She is "on" the whole time. It's just too polished in my opinion. The one time she has a real unfiltered response and says I don't want to be a pussy you can see her go Shoot I shouldn't have said that. I enjoyed it well enough, I mean who doesn't love Drew, but would have been better had she been more natural like most of the guests. Hanging out eating stupid crazy hot stuff and having a laugh.
Hot Ones should host the next US presidential debate.

The fact that she set this up to match the traditional Hot Ones set (also with good video and audio quality) makes me like her so much more. Feels like everyone else is doing it from their laptop webcam.

I love how throughout this whole thing Drew is like "i'm so honored to be on your radar" to everyone, while she's this huge massive star with this huge career. That's humility. Drew has really strong "cool auntie who lets you do your thing, but is protective and has wisdom, life lessons, and life stories for you when you need them" vibes, and i'm really here for it. Is anyone else getting that from her?
Her "the most difficult thing.. well no, were talking about a struggle involved with being an actor and that's def not the most difficult thing" was refreshing. She really does seem to understand her position and privilege. Being thoughtful and self aware are great attributes.

I just adore her! My mom met her at a store she worked at years ago and Drew was in line with chips and soda for lunch. My mom said she was just so sweet and a totally lovely and down to earth person. And, I will forever use barnacles as a metaphor now. We all have our scars. We all have our barnacles, not blemishes but badges of honor, reminding us how much we’ve overcome. Thanks, Drew!

cancelling Santa Clarita Diet was one of Netflix's biggest mistakes. the story and cast were brilliant, its a shame there wasn't more uproar.. miss that show
They're making season 4 after everyone freaked out when it was cancelled and blasted the internet with petitions and complaints, etc! Not much more information beyond that (they can't film right now, of course), but it's definitely been green lit for season 4.

Sean is a master conversationalist, but after watching Hot Ones for a few years now, I also just want to give a shout out to whomever pairs the music with the episode as I feel like it really captures the essence of the guests, the rapport, and the experience.
I used to work for Virgin America and Drew came up with her friend casually into baggage drop, waiting in a line, and politely asking if this was where she was supposed to go. She was adorable and polite and normal and magnificent. I couldn't believe how humble and soft spoken she was. And she had a casual aisle and middle seat in the middle of the plane. I met a ton of celebrities at that job and she was one of my top favorites and most memorable. 😍

So part of our job was to escort them through the and make sure they were settled without anyone bothering them. The cool ones were Steve Carell (down to earth and humble), Jessica Alba and her husband Cash (and adorable and polite kids), Olivia Wilde and her husband Jason Sudeikis (and their adorable kids), Natalie Portman (sweet and soft spoken), Zoe Saldana (stunning and sweet), Stevie Wonder (legend), Zac Efron (even more unfairly good looking in person), Norman Reedus (a regular, and always chatted a bit), Emerill Lagasse (jolly), Rob Thomas (so cool and down to earth), and even Bill Clinton (got to shake his hand)!
A regular that was kind of quirky was Quentin Tarantino.
And I would say the only one that was kind of standoffish was James Franco (his assistant was nice though).
Another interesting one would be Harvey Weinstein (before that whole debacle lol).
Some that I didn't get to interact with but flew through while I was working were: John Mayer, Kareem Abdul-Jabbar, Gordon Ramsay, and Michael C. Hall. I'm sure I'm missing some people too lol.

I’m glad she didn’t, especially since she didn’t finish the book. If you can get through it, maybe you have a more valid stance to critique it, but Moby-Dick really comes together in the final chapters, even if you had a hard time in the middle stretch.

One of the many reasons why I “canceled” Netflix. I left years ago and have never come back, mainly, because they NEVER listen to their customer base. What they want to see. What shows they want to stay, or want to go. You can plead and beg they bring back or offer something in particular...literally until you’re blue in the face. They simply don’t give a shit. They just do things on their own accord. ...... so I simply said goodbye.
My fav thing is whenever he’s talking and they’re struggling they make it sound like he’s so far away, like a bad acid trip😂

We had “A Celebration of Life” for my dad when he passed away 3 1/2 years ago. Tears of sadness, joy and laughter were shared all around. We had his favourite drink (whiskey) on hand (had a special toast which everyone took a shot of) with other alcoholic beverages and great food as well. We gave out his military plaques to his 5 grandchildren (my sisters and I have a few ourselves) with wonderful stories shared by everyone. This is what my dad wanted and that is what he got!!
I feel you, lost my mom last month and holy shit i hate funeral there is nothing good that come out of this that it made me angry at some point.

We did something similar when my aunt passed away
We had something for a friend who commited suicide in 2016. We were classmates and were in a drama club. We sang songs of the plays we did with him and we dedicated a play in his honours :) we cried, we hug, but we had a celebration of his life. It was beautiful.

We have to be thankful to everyone who helped Drew to get her health and life back on track, not only did she not have a father because of his passing, her mother was literally evil.

I'm not gonna lie, a lot of these at home interviews just haven't done it for me. It loses so much of the magic and Sean, through no fault of his own, just can't deliver the same quality of interview I've come to enjoy. Drew really made this experience special though, she brought the spark back that has been missing!!
Also this point brings back the magic at the end when he says "this camera or this camera" because she had a mock setup but regardless kept it feeling genuine

Never thougth that I could love Drew more than I actually do. But after this, my heart belongs to her FOREVER.
I love how most of the celebrities end up complementing Sean and his team on the clever and unique set up of the show, and how he tries to mirror his guests and support them, like it's just such a nice environment and he asks interesting questions :)
My friend used to run a camera store in Beverly Hills, before she moved out here to CO. The crew loved Drew. She would bring a daisy in for my friend and was apparently just a lovely, bright presence to be around. Authentic and sweet and gorgeous. Clearly that's just who she is. Brilliant.

That's actually the point that made me doubt the genuity of the whole thing. You have tons of people having a taste and just breaking down and not getting over how awfully painful, shitty and just plain awful that one is, but Drewsy just pulls 5 gramms off just like that? She ain't that good an actress.
How can you not love Drew. She is so real, so genuine and talented and one of the nicest, kindest people on the planet.
I love Drew Barrymore... She's had a privileged, but extremely difficult life with so many obstacles and has been able to overcome so much. She is very inspirational. She's a wonderful actress and seems so pleasant, along with being beautiful.
I hate they canceled Santa Clarita Diet. Such a refreshing show that was easy to watch.
