Should you learn to play guitar left or right handed?
I’m left-handed. Many years ago, when I first picked up a guitar, it felt unnatural to force myself to play right-handed. Like Paul McCartney, Kurt Cobain and Tony Iommi, I play left handed guitars. However, many left-handers, like Gary Moore and Steve Morse, easily adapt to playing guitar right-handed, while some, like Albert King or Dick Dale, take a right-handed guitar and flip it upside down, still strung right-handed.
If you’re a fellow lefty, there are many pros and cons to playing (and buying) left-handed guitars. Drawing from personal experience, I highlight some of the issues I’ve encountered on my 36 year left-handed guitar playing journey.

Rick Beato’s son has taken up guitar and is a leftie. I was a bit surprised Rick didn’t push him to learn rightie style. But I guess the most important thing is to keep motivation high and not put up obstacles.

Great video, alot of stuff here i never thought of that Lefties go through. Paying for the "privilege" of being left handed haha. Video suggestion for the future, what is your amp/modeler setup and how you think through your rig.
As a left handed guitar player, I would love to see dedicated left handed lessons. I'm surprised there isn't anything intermediate or advanced for left handed players. Scale and chord diagrams presented so that I didn't have to convert them in my head would be really helpful.
Great idea. I've been toying with the idea of doing something like this for a while, but wanted to test the water to see if there was any demand for it.

Question. 🙋 for a left handed telecaster guitar needing a new control harness is there such a thing as a left handed control harness or are such harnesses universal?
That’s a good question. I’ve never really thought about it. I’m assuming it’s the same panel, but just flipped upside down. Then again, I’m rubbish when it comes to guitar maintenance and setups.

You certainly don't get the same colour options as a lefty, and yes you do pay more.
Never ever played a guitar before I bought it, as you say, shops/stores don't carry lefty models.
I've bought 5 guitars "blind" off the internet and fortunately I've never got a dud yet.
As for the build process in the factory, happy to be corrected but as everything is CNC'd it's just a case of reversing the mould surely?
Luckily, we don't have to buy lefty pedals😄👌🏻
Good point about buying blind. I’ve done that so many times.
Your comment reminded me of a dream I had many years ago about having to buy left handed picks and strings!
