A project (not for the novice) to do in the woods.....if you have the skills. Watch the video all the way to the end, head for the woods, make it.......LEAVE IT! MAKE SOMEONE HAPPY
Cool carving so simple and cool. I love carving I've just started a new channel where I carve wood spirits etc. Great video Cheers Tim from Wood 4 Nothing 🌲🌲
Terrific Neill, I aint no artist or wood butcher but this looks like a really neat thing for me to try. Taking some Beaver Scouts to Camp next weekend, gonna give it shot at our Camp Wheeler in the Algonquin Highlands on Ontario, Canada.
Had lots of fun making these, like you i leave them in the woods, also do the same with Gypsy Flowers, sit there have a brew, carve some flowers, spin up a bit of cordage from nettle or clematis and hang the flowers from a tree by the path for someone to find.
Perhaps between us mate, we could get the world sat in the woods whittling!! Thanks for taking the time to comment my friend. We should meet up at some point soon.
Wouldnt the world be a better place if everyone took the time the whittle now and again, im making good progress in my ongoing recovery, only my knees to get working properly and build up my strength and hopefully i shall be back in the woods again
I am really enjoying your craft projects Neil, I have been adding them to my playlist for when I can get round to trying them. I look forward to seeing more from your wealth of knowledge.. thank you for sharing.
Thanks for sharing this Neil, I've tried a few now, and had a go at the ones on your shop page they look good with the more defined beard full of character
I say this is not for the novice because the five minute wizard uses a very soft wood. In the woods people will be using woods that will require more force to cut and more effort to control. Having taught this to many people I have a good idea of what experience level is needed. A novice to me is someone who has never really handled a knife and has little or no experience of safe cutting skills.
I’m struggling to get it right but your method is a lot better than any I seen Thankies Neil 👍🇮🇹🐾🦊
My second comment:
Great video btw! You have a new subscriber here, watching from Fayetteville NC.

So you said it in the description “not for the novice” but I am quite new to carving and managed to do this not half bad...
Good, simple project to get the basic shapes planted in the old noggin. Thanks for sharing.

You said that the size of the wood doesn't matter, but I believe that there's a few women out there who may disagree lol!

@@greencraft4783 thanks for answering! Still was a great video :)
Was that wire wool you had in that old vaseline tin? Neat idea.
Greencraft thanks. And if you come over all 1970s whilst doing bushcraft you can always have a fondue!
cool project thx
What is it??
Tried to follow along but you are too far from camera, and too fast. Mine did not turn out so good. I will try again
can you do this without making the 90° angle?
Possibly, though I have always done it to get the definition on the nose.
