Hi iKia, I've been playing Div 2 since launch and never really gotten into Eclipse builds, however this has been highly informative and interesting and I will definitely be putting some effort into both building and testing your recommendations. Thank you very much!
Lots of helpful info. I have a whole character dedicated to eclipse. I like to do the foam setups as a run a gun. Hasn't ever been better than hunters fury but I do enjoy being 100% status immunity and being able to run the backfire. Thanks for the video!!!
Hi iKia, thanks so much for the detailed breakdown, it has been really informative. Can I ask please, how much would you change the build for something as open as Manning Zoo? e.g. for running the Challenging time trials solo? I’ve tried a range of different builds but the eclipse option seems as though it would be a faster run. I would be interested in your opinion.
overall i dont choose to use eclipse solo, i like it more so in groups so i deal with the reds and leave the purple and elites for my allies. those time trails can be done for a stage 10 with huntersfury quite comfortably, mostly because there are things like nameds and heavies that eclipse struggles with. but if you go for actually the faster times it can be the better choice to go eclipse. the way to set it up solo is to go firewall to benefit from the 20% fire duration, also swapping the scorpio to capacitor for more single target killing potential, also running fire and jammer, the jammer triggers vile and that will kill or weaken most smaller enemies, and is going to reach out and hit them easily.
loved this build for a long time now main difference is its easier to get bis gloves since electrique comes with a skill tier by default so easier to farm that than golan gloves
that was the reason aswell that i wanted to revisit EP in a showcase, just to give the new versions, and i never mind playing more EP, and especially that glass chest build has gone from farming a unicorn, to a much easier farm, so i wanted to re-introduce more people to it.
Have you considered replacing the backpack with an Electrique back with Creeping Death, and then of course, replacing the gloves with Eclipse Protocol gloves to still receive the 4-piece buff? How do you think that will change the setup?
creeping death is pretty useful for foam based eclipses, usually done with the perfect creeping death backpack named the courier, the extra range and shorter cooldown is worth it on that one, and then paired with a electrique piece and leaving out the vile aswell. but on fire eclipses the backpacks talent giving 30% amp to all your damage on status affected enemies is unbeatable, because that includes your fire and bleeds aswell, and you dont really need the spread of creeping in general play for a fire eclipse, a it is likely that some enemy will die quickly, usually a red rusher, and that will make your fire spread already.
I put this build together and it's ridiculously powerful. The only issue that you have is the mini tanks and warhounds etc, they won't die. I'm running through territory control and hostages situationa in a minute tops.
I admit its 100% a skill issue, but no matter what I try I cannot stay alive with Eclipse Protocol. Open World, which I usually run on Heroic with Heartbreker, Striker or Turret/Drone, I struggle even on challeging with EP. I have resigned that if I want to set the world on fire I just boot Div 1 and run Classified Firecrest.
are you running solo or in group?, as especially in groups you could try the banshee version just to insure you stay alive, even if you are giving up dmg, or even a blinder alongside fire chem aswell in the openworld as that is easier to use, as the hive is harder to use without knowing most of the spawn locations. as also solo in the openworld it is hard to make eclipse work unless you know it well and know the activities well. as especially open world is the place aswell that eclipse needs the most player knowledge i feel, and i feel its in missions and bounties it can really shine more easily, and it is also a build that takes times to get used to to be decent at it in general, i often see people that are disheartened after starting with it, but each and everyone that did stick with it, now uses it often as one of their main builds, it is that strong, but takes a little while to get used to.
@@ikia In Div2 for some reason I feel a lot of anxiety when running in groups. Even when solo I can easily clear any mission on Heroic (using your tech tank HB build as a template) , and even getting to the boss room in Legendary DUA a couple of times, as a 237 SHD player, as soon as I queue and get an invite I freeze and don't go for it. So I'm always running solo. In the original game this does not happen at all. Thank you very much for the response and encouragement, I will keep trying it, cause regardless of how effective EP is, it for sure looks like one of, if not THE most fun builds in the game. Perhaps taking Vile out and practicing on challeging so enemies don't get inta-killed. Again, thanks a ton for this and all your work!!
you arent the first and you wont be the last, it easy to miss, and everytime it comes up in any discussion there is usually a player that didnt know yet, so i am happy to hear this vid helped atleast a few more people know that trick
Good tips, thanks. I've been trying to learn how to play eclipse for a long time, but using the chem launcher is such a jarring difference from using a gun that I just mess it up a lot. Mostly to do with the arc of the shot.
it can take some to get a feel for the arcing of the chem, but i am confident if you stick wit hit you will have it down after a bit, if it is really too annoying though, you can go with the burn sticky, i find it less effective overall, but it does not have a arc when you fire it, and you can even aim with your weapon, and then double tap to fast fire it where you put your weapon reticule. so worth a try aswell to see if you like that better.
I run the exact same build but with BTSU gloves instead of Vile Mask. I love the overcharge for team mates. It most likely deals less over all damage but the utility makes up for it tbh.
yeah the btsu layout is a good variant aswell, its actually the reason most of my EP builds are setup the way they are with the glove being the electrique brand part, as i can swap it over to a electrique mask and btsu to go that variant. i am working on a folder in the build collection with a ton of recommended layouts for EP the coming days, and a btsu version will definitely be in there
ya mind was blown actually that you can double tab to ignite chem launcher fire 0.o lol that was why i didnt like using it I thought you had to shoot it or enemy has to shoot etc
firewall is also beneficial for the only useful spec sidearm in the game. firestarter allows you to burn any enemy. good for soloing black tusk activities.
Another skill you can use but is sometimes quite annoying to get right, is the Airburst Seeker. It puts on a ~30s burn that can spread back and forth multiple times and annihilate multiple waves. Combine that with the foam chem, it's awesome for legendaries.
instead of the shotgun with insync, i'd pick a rifle with perpetuation talent: Headshots grant +50% status effect damage and duration to the next status effect you apply. frying last longer until npcs are crispy :D. cool vid
those two aren't really interchangeable, first off i will say that i nowadays just take a lefty for sledge. but in the case that a refire is needed, a insync weapon can quickly just hit an enemy, and you follow that up with a new full duration stronger fire overwriting the old fire. trying to do the same with perp usually doesn't work out as it will get eaten by a random spread, and trying to apply it before a fight will scatter everything where you could have just started a fire instead. but if you set it up right then perp can offcourse outdamage insync in the situations that it works well for. both insync and perp are good talents to have on hand, i usually have both those 2 and future perfect on a few pistols at the ready, and swap as the situation demands.
perpetuation isn't inherently better than insync, and if you even want to go with perp you are better off with the normal version on either an ar or smg so you can spray and get it, or on a shotty for the DTA. or on your pistol to have a lefty, as the lefty is the true better pick nowadays. the cooldown reduction for the everlasting ends up not really worth it because of those. perpetuation ends up not being great when in use, either you try to get it before a fight and end up scattering everyone, or after starting the fight and it ends up being eaten on a random spread, in sync atleast lets you refire consistently. but nowadays i am mostly swapped over to sledge, as that is more powerful for the team than a more dmg and duration for just the eclipse, or even refiring with insync. i might in the future revisit especially the fire eclipse master class and redo it, and then sledge will be my main pick, with future perfect, in sync or perpetuation on the pistol, depending on the situation.
Man decided to make a Whole Power Point Presentation about eclipse Protocol, and I Love it.
This build is so much fun to play. Thank you!

YOU CAN DOUBLE TAP TO ACTIVATE IT?????? WTFFFFFFFFFFFFF lol thank you I never knew that since launch gezus christ
😂😂I just found this out a week ago myself.
I remember when I found this out about 6 months ago my jaw hit the floor.

Thank you, amazing video! 👍
This is my favorite team build. I've been running Negotiator's a lot lately, and I may get rid of my Umbra builds in favor.
Umbra with Chameleon was my first build , it helped me a lot when I was a really low shd level

If you're extra cool, go for a unicorn golan instead of electrique, then roll it to skill tier.
This I did, and still do.
