I was sitting there like “ I know it’s been a hot minute since I’ve done tie-dye, but aren’t you supposed to wet the fabric first? Or am I crazy?” 😂😂😂 Poor Nick. 😂💙
@@Roy-G-Biv Unless you know what you're doing, it is highly recommended that you work with a damp item. The colors won't run if you properly space things and the bands are there to act as resists. If you don't wet, you need to scour(hot wash) first to remove any sizing(starch, silicone) and other finishing treatments that manufacturers use. Then you can apply direct, but you have to *completely* saturate areas to ensure strong colors and dye adhesion. You also have to pay close attention to transitions between colors, otherwise you'll have stark white section instead the smooth transitions that wet dying affords you.
@@Roy-G-Biv Yes, it is true. Professional tie dyer here. If you have the GOOD dye, then the fabric is soaked in a solutiion of soda ash and water, then wrung out so it is still damp, but not soking wet. Then you tie it and dye it, and let it set so the dye can "fix" to the fabric.
Nick, you're a gem!💎Worked retail for years, can confirm stores put formaldehyde in their clothes before shipping, to prevent wrinkles, mildew, stains and give the fabric a nice look when folded. Always wash clothes before wearing folks 😘
Nick you manage to transfer all the amazing energy to me through the screen every time. And every time it comes when I need it, and lifts me up. You are a ray of sunshine 🌞🌸💞
Ooh I think the shirt came out fabulous!! It’s not your typical tie dye, which makes it unique and way less generic, “meh”. Love the color of the socks, too! I think you did a good job! 👏🏻 ❤
❤❤ yes Nick they do put something on the fabric, it’s usually to repel so you are correct! That’s why you should always wash things before you use them
That turned out way better than I expected … I thought tie dye was tying up & soaking in a bucket of dye , but the shirt esp worked out much more interesting . Matteo might actually be happy to wear it….although he does have criminal dress sense as you’ve pointed out repeatedly, so that might not mean much 😁
I just left a comment on your recent I Never Liked You. I explored Mateo to wear the shirt that you made for him. Your videos are great. His...hit or miss 😅😅
Cardiovascular B...not thinking it fully through.......speaking of :Nick, Dear you put on those gloves, and then started using rubber bands....laughing so hard !
Tie-dye is really fun, but you have to use natural fibers, like 100% cotton or rayon. Those socks had polyester, which basically is like trying to put dye on a piece of plastic. It doesn't work. BUT you can re-dye that shirt and add color to it! You can get a second chance and add some orange.😀Nick, I just love how adorable you are. I love the blouses you wear on your podcast. Don't let Mr. T-shirt as fashion tell you how to dress.
this was so fun! your indignation over needing to wait 6-8 hrs made me laugh out loud...as did many other moments. while you clearly did not do this craft "correctly," i think both items turned out great! :)
The shirt is definitely cute and those socks look like a cloudy blue sky! ❤ Feel a little guilty admitting this because Mateo is incredible but you're my favorite!
Nick, not going to lie I kind of like the shirt. It's not tie dye but I think it's a cool print. The socks look like a blue sky with clouds. Both could have turned out so much worse. Great job on your first attempt in years and without instructions! Thank you the fashion review and yet another great video! Love you! 😊❤
I love Nick's Craft Corner! The socks look like 'blue sky & clouds' motif, very nice! The tee-shirt looks interesting, like an abstract painting, much nicer than actual tie-dye! Good work!...and who needs instructions, when 'ya got inspiration, right?
Both look SOOO good. You could get an embroidery on the t shirt left breast pocket saying "I never liked you" lol. And the socks look like the sky. GREAT JOB!!!!
Wrap it before you tap it ❤️ 😂 Would love to hear this topic continued on the “I Never Liked You” pod Thank You Nick for sharing your thoughts with us 🕊️
Your videos are a relief and a safe place for me when the stress of the week kicks in... Because of that I was thinking how amazing it would be if you actually gave us some words of encouragement as well within the video! Haha 😄 Oh... Nick telling me to hang on and keep going cause I'm gonna win this, would be everything that I need...😄🤞🤞❤️❤️
I haven’t done tie dye in 50 years but I think I remember dipping the shirt in pans of dye as opposed to squirting it on. At any rate it’s a great watch 😊
NICK! Just watched the Italy podcast that dropped today and Matteo was asking if you could tell the difference between Coke/Pepsi, Pizza Hut/Dominos etc -- **PLEASE** -- do a video actually doing taste tests of those and other similar-brand items!!!! We need it!
I feel like I missed something. maybe as far back as birth, cuz I don't get the Met Gala being garden or nature or whatever themed and most of the dresses were nothing in the theme. but I also would wear what you just made way more than any of those gowns. love the shirt actually I hope matteo enjoys wearing it. and your boyfriend with the socks. Great job nick you would rock some of those met gala looks. would love to see you in one.
another fun video and your lighting looks great, you need to use different dyes for various fibres, cotton and synthetics (in socks) need different dyes probably, some dyes will also need fixing, some have fixers built in. maybe you can wring this theme further with other dyeing techniques, there are many, flour resist paste, batik, foraging for natural dye plants in the bronx, I would also like to see videos of making or decorating the most ridiculous clothes possible then gifting them to people and kind of insisting they wear them...
OMG, THANK YOU NICK, for saying it was just too/soooo much fabric Cardi was wearing AND how it didn't read properly!! I immediately thought the exact same thing! AWWW, to the tie-dye🥰 I was literally in Kindergarten when I last did that.🤭 Oh, Nick honey, do you know how to sew? P.S. Z's first lewk kinda freaked me out ONLY because of whatever was going on with her eyebrows....😱
If the clothing item is new, it needs to be washed first. Clothing has “sizing” on it to help it retain its shape in shipping and display in stores. Then, when tye-dyeing, the fabric needs to be damp. These are the two reasons the dye was just rolling off the fabric. BUT STILL ENTERTAINING AS ALWAYS! 😂❤
The t-shirt looks fab (& I like the shade of blue on the socks). Maybe the bottles were meant to be used to squeeze the colours on but without the rubber bands in that kit, like a Jackson Pollock? I don’t know but it all looked lovely in the end 🎉❤!
These videos of nick doing random stuff are amazing
"I feel like I have such good intentions with all of my videos and they just instantly turn to chaos" lol that's how I feel about my LIFE.
WET THE FABRIC first Niiiiiiiiiick!!!!!! 😂
I was sitting there like “ I know it’s been a hot minute since I’ve done tie-dye, but aren’t you supposed to wet the fabric first? Or am I crazy?” 😂😂😂 Poor Nick. 😂💙
The lack of any dye on Matteo’s t shirt is beyond hilarious. Directions were indeed sorely missed and needed.
Love that he puts the gloves on to tie up the socks, no cross contamination on his fucking watch!! 😂
Watching Nick do arts & crafts is both chaotic and relaxing.
I would love Nick to take over the red carpet role of Joan Rivers.
Yes! ❤ Wished Nick would have the kept those images up a bit longer but c'est la vie.
Nick is such a beautiful desaster, I'm like a minute in and I already love it 😂
He's so effortlessly funny
That shirt turned out great. It looks like art rather than mass produced hippie shirts. Good job!
The socks turned out soooo cute! The pattern looks like fluffy white clouds on a blue sky!
This is literally all I want to watch: Nick doing an activity while discussing a specific topic!! Love it!! ❤️✨🙌
… or on location in florida 😂
Nick needs to sell merch from failed art projects. I would buy it out.
The Cinderella gloves are low key gorgeous
The T-shirt looks absolutely astonishing 😊
"Crafting with Nick"....love it! ❤
Fabric needs to be wet, Nick!! 😂
that's not true. if it was wet the colors would all run together.

You found a craft you can completely mess up and the outcome still looks good 😊 shirt is cool and I looove the socks- might have to make some now 🤗
LOLOL the nerve of Tie-Dye having to make you come back after six hours to give us a reveal. 💀
wrap it before you tap it, am I right ladies? 😂 Nick don’t ever change
Nick you manage to transfer all the amazing energy to me through the screen every time. And every time it comes when I need it, and lifts me up. You are a ray of sunshine 🌞🌸💞
The neckline on Nick's blouse is EVERYTHING!!!!!! I LOVE your style!!!!
The socks are giving walking on clouds ♥️
6:06 Live footage of Nick finding out that our clothes are 90% plastic
Honestly it kind of works for like a 90's socal surfer look. Definitely reminding me of every straight boy I had crushes on in middle school.
I think the tie-dyed t-shirt is FANTASTIC! Love your videos, Nick!
honestly Nick, you are probably one of the few people in the world who can pull off this wide necked blouse. Props to ya Mama
Ooh I think the shirt came out fabulous!! It’s not your typical tie dye, which makes it unique and way less generic, “meh”. Love the color of the socks, too! I think you did a good job! 👏🏻 ❤
saaaame.
❤❤ yes Nick they do put something on the fabric, it’s usually to repel so you are correct! That’s why you should always wash things before you use them
Totally here for the chaos!
oh nick honestly good job. i would totally buy the shirt it's so outstanding giving all sorts of unsteady and chaotic and gay and I'm loving it
Nick, I LIVE !!!😂😂 ❤❤❤❤ AWESOME !! Please do more, your videos are SUCH fun🥰
I just love the randomness of your videos-I never know what I'm gonna get, but I'm sure I'll love it.
“I had no where to run to baby, no where to hide” Sister Act 2. A literal treasure trove of references. ❤

i'm honestly surprised there wasn't more mess. Looking forward to the next arts 'n' crafts episode, any episode from you, really, they're all great!

When you were holding the unfolded tshirt, prior to dying, I thought it was a onesie…and I was like for Matteo…that’s appropriate 🤣
That shirt looks fantastic on you, Nick! The colors and placement are well-balanced. Looks cool.
Nick you are just too precious I love the socks as someone else said they look like a fluffy cloud, the t-shirt is adorbs .
😂😂 I absolutely adore you! 😂 I would love for you to try tie-dye again but use the directions. It really is fun to do.
You also pay attention to what fabric you have. Love the T shirt!!!
You are endlessly entertaining and adorable. More, more, more pleeeease!

The only opinion on Met Gala fashion I actually want. Loved this!
The tie dye t-shirt is actually beautiful, Nick. I could honestly see it being sold at Saks!
this was so fun! your indignation over needing to wait 6-8 hrs made me laugh out loud...as did many other moments. while you clearly did not do this craft "correctly," i think both items turned out great! :)
I "Dyed" laughing... Nick you are too funny!!! I think the shirt came out great 👏
you're a doll, nick. thank you for this!

It’s not a disaster. It’s subtle and pretty. I like your work more than the typical bright and swirly tie dye look .
The crinkling of the gloves for sooo long was so funny.
Nick’s fashion opinion is the only one that matters.
Honestly can’t wait to see Matteo’s biceps stretch those sleeves 🫣 I actually like the minimal tie dye on the shirt!
I love it with the faded jeans. The socks are great - they look like sky, cerulean blue.
I hate tie die with everything in me but that shirt came out cute I would totally wear it. That’s how powerful Nick is 😂
I love Nick's Craft Corner! The socks look like 'blue sky & clouds' motif, very nice! The tee-shirt looks interesting, like an abstract painting, much nicer than actual tie-dye! Good work!...and who needs instructions, when 'ya got inspiration, right?

Nick, it's great! Maybe you wanted the heavy "island" tie-dye look...but I think the result is fabulous.
Truly ready-to-wear fashion.

neither turned out like I expected, i.e. I LOVE both way better like this. The T-shirt is actually quite cool, and the socks look like the sky
I love love love the shirt. I hate tye dye but the minimal look you did is actually very pretty and cool.
The socks look like the sky, complete with clouds. The shirt came out kind of cute in an understated for tie-dye kind of way.
The shirt is actually amazing.
LOVE IT! So fabulously random!
It came out much better than it had seemed that it would!!!!
Nick, you ain't right!😂💖
But you ain't wrong about the Chipotle Burrito!!🤣🤣🤣🤣💀
I never thought there was such a thing as minimalist tie-dye
You’re the best, Nick! You crack my shit up!
Both Zendaya looks were giving Feed the Birds lady from sound of music. No shade. Love her. Just a vibe.

The art projects were good. But your décolletage in this video… masterpiece 👌🏼😅
I'll be honest I think I really like the look of the shirt, white with pops of colour! I think I'd wear that over a full tie-dye shirt!
Cloud socks. Nick, you need to go to Michael's or Joann's and get a bunch of crafting stuff. Make sure you take Mateo to Michael's.

The result was a slay Nick! Sometimes less is more. Me personally very inspired by minimalist tye dye ❤

This is exactly what happened when I tried to do tie dye!!! But honestly I love the shirt
