I think art is very subjective. Matteos portrait captured how Nick would look in a 10min painting, more realism. Nicks portrait captures Matteos fun and unique character. I think you both did amazing for different reasons! ❤

I love the sense of gesture in Matteo's portrait; it's giving J.C. Leyendecker, but comes across a little stiff on screen and doesn't quite capture Nick's impish character. Nick's portrait looks like teenage fan art for a boyband, but exudes more character.
As someone with BFA in drawing, I would love to see more of Matteo's drawings. He doesn't draw with paint, which is something a lot of us drawers do. I'm so impressed. Also love Nick's interpretation of Matteo, especially the hair. I totally see him in it. Bravo.
I used to be an art teacher, and I have to say I loved both paintings. Matteo, you are really talented in a classic way. I loved the primitive nature that Nick paints with as well. It's a much better painting than I expected it to be with all of Nick's shade. Both of my kids said they always had art materials that everyone else envied. One got all of the crafting skills (she can DIY like a champ) and the other kid got the classic art skills like drawing, painting, and sculpting.
TBH I thought Nick’s would be much less impressive than it turned out to be. I totes see a representation of Matteo in the painting. Dare I say, that while technique-wise Matteo’s is quite good it looks nothing like Nick. I’d never have been able to ID who the subject of that painting was. Truly hilarious and enjoyable video, guys. And MATTEO should absolutely display Nick’s painting in his home. It’s a fine abstract rendering of both him and his hairline.

Honestly, I think you both have a distinct style. Could Matteo's have a little more personality in the face? Yes. Could Nick's have been a little more accurate on measurements? Yes. But they are both good, and they both show how you see your friend. A++

I love how most of these episodes are Matteo actually saying he has experience in the specific topic and Nick still has the sheer confidence to think he will outshine Matteo 😂
It's Matteo hands down. I was fascinated to see how confidently he worked, and the economy of his style. Nick's was a more primitive approach that made Matteo's head look like a marshmallow with features, and that's okay; lots of people like marshmallows.
