I was expecting something heroic, grand, extravagant or awesome but this was just catastrophic. Five people died. It turns out EPIC is the name of the company and not a description of the video. The explosion was massive though.
That's what the NTSB should have put in the description, but you know what they are like. They don't want to jump to any conclusions at this early stage. We may get a preliminary finding of an explosion after about a year and a full report after about 2 - 3 years maybe more. That will provide us the entire working history of the captain and when he first got his licence, what the pipe was made out of (with a thorough metallurgical analysis) and the exact measurements of the vessel down to the millimeter and a plethora of other relevant information I'm sure.
I'm fully aware this comment is 11 months old at the time of this reply, but the name of the company is "EPIC", and the location is "EPIC Marine Terminal". It's not a description of the video.
*Spoilers* Believe it or not, I didn't watch until the end. I was wondering what the gushing water was about and so I started scrolling the comments. Then I came across your simple but most relevant comment. I clicked it and *BAM,* I suddenly realised what the fuss was all about. Thanks.
@@theobserver9131 sometimes people's IQ can reach up to the stratosphere, I mean the environment. Do you realise how huge the planet is compared to such a propane fart? Would you then prefer 6 people down than a fart into the environment. Btw, speaking of environment, your comment costs on CO2, bad gases and heavy pollution are much more than the shown fart of propane.

😆 Yeah, I thought the same too ... "My, is the NTSB getting edgy now?" 😁
🤦🏻♂️
TLDR:
Dredging boat struck and broke an underwater propane pipeline.
Thank you, I was wondering.

Thanks man , its people like you that make these videos tolerable because you instantly get your answer...
Why was there not more information in the description or the video itself to give some context to this incident? I hate that!!
This video is on RUclips to be used in the virtual board meeting the next day.
What do you expect from your corrupt commie government
It just a burst pipeli... Oh, that is quite the fireball
Always call “dig safe” before excavating.
Ow!!! That’s one big burn. How terrible to lose your life in something so sudden and unexpected.
Where the hell is the sound?
It's a security video but I've noticed all the national transportation safety board videos have no sound.
Holy cow
How awful. 💔
WOW
EPIC
Epic was the name of the company
Ambassador you tease us...
What exactly is happening?
Taco Bell aftermath
Barge and pipeline explosion that killed five
The front fell off
Dredging barge struck and ruptured a propane pipeline, propane gas cloud expanded and enveloped the barge, ignited, 5 people died

Business is booming in Texas.
Call 811 before you have to call 911
Ooof
Call 811 before digging
I've watched alot of these videos and at least we try to learn from our mistakes. Unlike other countries with that could care less about safety
I guess if you compare us to a Third World country, we don't look quite as bad. We are way behind many other countries.
It was awesome until i read that 5 people died down thread... Sad 😢, WOW! 😳🥺😳
Rugged day at the office.
Did anyone see the EPIC part? I must have completely missed it...lol
EPIC is the name of the company 🤦🏻♂️
Bring THAT show to Vegas... You'll make millions... Just sayin'...
Oof.
Glad I wasn't standing there.
And you're complaining you can't seem to get barbecue grill lit Fast enough???...
NTSB I love what you do, I love that you're a thing, I feel that my tax money is well-used with you, but please don't call videos "EPIC".

Rip environment
If that gas had not burned, it would've been much worse for the environment.
